I've a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT I9500 16GB
but the system consumes about 7 to 8 gb by default.
I want to root my phone and want to uninstall all the stock apps provided by samsung, all of them.
Is there any way to do that with out rooting?? If no then I just want to root my original rom and want to uninstall all stock apps.
My android version is 5.0.1
Please guide me through whole process what are the drawback of rooting and what I need to root my phone.

for the s2 i installed a rom on it and it lost root. the android version was 2.3.5 and now its 4.4.2. i can not figure out how to root the phone with the new OS.

I've searched for couple of days but never found complete answer to how to root Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 and, more important, delete preinstalled apps. My S4 has the Android 5.0.1. Also, is there any way to do this using Ubuntu/Xubuntu 14.04?
