Remix OS on multiple displays? - Remix OS for PC

Hey guys, this is a question for the developers of Remix OS.
I love your distribution and idea to bring android to the PCs. I am using Remix OS since the first iso release and all i can say is :highfive: THANK YOU :highfive: because honestly i have been looking for a way to put android on my laptop for a long time and you did it with ease.
My kinda problem here is that i like to use my laptop with 1 or 2 more display... sucker for multitasking ya . But when i plug in another display it just mirrors the screen to the two displays, not extending it and i haven't found an option to change that yet, so can you please add an option for extending with more dislays :fingers-crossed: ? Thank you for your time!

Porting OS on Omnia hd

hi i've got a samsung omnia hd i8910... i think that symbian sucks and i've seen that there are a lot of porting for other mobile phone. so i ask you: can you create a way to install wp7 or android on i8910? the hardware of this phone is not bad and now there is also the overclock made by HyperX (up to 900MHz) .. so, someone can try to find a way to upgrade this phone to a really OS ? sorry for my bad english.
please help us, we are a lot with this problem!
up... please help us!
up please... help
hello everybody!
i am an omnia hd's owner too!
i think this smartphone is superb!the only limit is the symbian 5th O.S. infact i'd like to know why samsung team put this instead of android and didn't released any important update.
if android porting isn't possible, anyway i hope symbian 3^.
thanks for any help in advance!
i've knew that in past the problem was the boot loader. but i've read also that it was unlocked.
so where is the problem now?
the cpu is the OMAP3430 so i think that there is no problem to a android porting because the motorola droid has it too...
or maybe a porting of the maemo os, infact n900 has a OMAP3430.
help us... we want that our phone rise again, because we paid it a lot not so time ago.. and it has a very good hardware...
AFAIK No one else on this forum has one and no one is going to buy one to dev for you unless you donate.
i will donate if you could find codec dark edition room for me
I have this now. Great phone. I still use it mostly for the speakers.
I would love to see Symbian 3 Belle on. It's near impossible I guess. I wish Samsung had not ditched dual speakers.
Samsung really bombed this phone. A little more wide spread release and support with update to later versions of Symbian and it would have been soooo much better.

[IDEA/REQUEST] Mozilla OS (BootToGecko) for LG P500 =[Developer Request]=

Hey Guys!!!
Ever heard of BOOT TO GECKO?!
Mozilla created Firefox, Seamonkey, Thunderbird, and now a smartphone operating system, known as Boot To Gecko, or Mozilla OS...
I am planning on working to port this amazing operating system to our smartphone, it will probably be a BIG project; which is another topic.
Is any developers here in our LG Optimus One area of XDA willing to work with me to get Boot To Gecko on our P500s? It would be amazing, even if it is on a linux/android based port (or themed ROM maybe... port itself is better)
So yeah
Also, I have not a lot of spare time during day between 9am-6pm because of work, so around nighttime I am free, so is on weekends...
I would love to see this on our phones, even sideloaded (multiboot) capability would be amazing, then we could have endless possibilities! I would have DoozzzedUIv4 and Mozilla B2G, and it would be amazing.
I would say good luck, but I'm the one to be working on it

8-year bump just for add information that may be relevant to anyone reading this post:
on B2G GitHub, there's a pull request for adding support for the P500 in the build process, so it should be compatible if someone compiles it.

Man someone did all that work only for it to never see the light of day, its been so long that not only the phone died but the os too. Hard to believe that my 150 dollar phone is more than 16 times more powerful than this.

Yeah, funny enough I have a LG P350 (not a p500), I would have tried to build it nowadays (just for the sake of trying) lol

I used to have an LG P500, the battery bloated a few years ago so I got rid of it thinking I wont miss it. Oh well that was a mistake. There is cyanogen os for the LG P350 so it would be easy to port firefox os overlay to the phone, it should run great as all the applications are minimalist. I am currantly trying to port Lineage 18.1 for my Samsung A11 but I am having issues with the camera, phone calls, etc. Android porting used to be so much more simpler back then, or I am just too unfamiliar with the new environment. The phone is armv6 so the maximum android version it can run without being extremely slow is android 4.4. I could get the lastest twrp version working but it would be useless on it. Postmarketos should run nicely on it.

actually b2g can't be even built because of the repositories being down, while archives exist you need to patch the source to use the correct paths and that's something most people won't do to run an outdated os
btw I also got twrp3 on some armv6 devices, a nice but useless things indeed

[Q] Ubuntu on X10

Android 7.1.2 Resource usage

Hi there to everyone on XDA.
I hope someone can help me out.
I have a question...
How much resources do Android 7.1.2 use compared to Android 6.0?
The reason im asking this is, I used to have an Samsung S4.I loved that phone but, then one evening the phone just went dead and wouldn't power on again.Dont know if my screen broke or if it's the pc board itself. So I got an Huawei Y560 as replacement which is about half the specs of the S4.I flashed my Samsung from CM12 all the way up to Lineage 7.1 and even used RR 5.8.XDA really changed my world and made me appreciate my phone so much more.Amazing work the developers do here on this site.
Anyhow my S4 ran all these roms flawlessly(Well obviously because the roms was made for the phone),but I am now a bit concerned about flashing my Y560 being at ½ the hardware the Samsung had.
Will the roms mentioned above run smoothly and will I have enough memory to run big apps (memory consuming apps),will the cpu keep up running multiple apps? All these questions make me a bit hesitant.
My main concern is about Nougat (7.1.2) I'm pretty sure 6.0 will run without problems, but I really want to flash Nougat.I will appreciate any help you guys can give me.
Thanks
Kind Regards

Custom rom!!??

Hello everyone i am about to get tab s7+ and i love the table just one question we have root and twrp why there is no custom rom and if i am rooted how to update the software also what do i lose with root what magisk don't fix? Thanks in advance
Hi. I think the lack of custom ROMs is because the device is fairly new - hence - not that popular, additionaly being an Android tablet. I ditched my Iconia A500 years ago and never thought I would go for a tablet again until this gem came out. I would recommend you to try it first for some time and play with it because there are tons of features (literally) in this device that would doubtedly work on any custom ROM in the beginning. At least that's my personal opinion - stick with stock for some time. Samsung have done a really great job! ....And what's more - Android 11 with One UI 3.1 is rolling out these days. It will allow you as far as I've heard to use Google discover on your foremost left screen instead of Samsung daily.

A general thing to lose with root for all Samsung devices would be those Knox-related stuffs, namely Secure Folders.
I've been trying to boot a GSI on the tablet but up to now all attempts have failed. The tablet refused to boot, despite there were no problems with the flashing.
I personally don't really care about those Samsung features as I've very little use of them at the moment. I bought the tablet mainly for its size and its 120Hz display, but after using it for a while, it seems the tablet's stock firmware is indeed not good enough (especially with the Android 11 update) and unless there be plenty of hope for custom ROM/GSI, you'd better off getting a recent version of iPad Pro 12.9 inch for nearly the same price, if rooting is not important.

Sorry but could you possibly share what's not good about the firmware? I've never used such a feature rich device before and everything runs smooth as butter, I'm using it as screen extender for Win10 laptop, Chromecasting, Samsung Secure folder with encryption, deeply integrated with all Samsung apps, I connected my 2TB NTFS external HDD with Paragon's NTFS plugin that allows NTFS write operations, home Internet runs at impressive speeds (50 and more MB per sec download), I draw a lot and the only thing that I've changed is the launcher. Of course if custom ROMs support all of these features it would be perfect!!!

You're right about the other features. For office/productivity works this tablet is an excellent choice.
On the other hand, this tablet's performance is very disappointing when it comes to gaming. I'm currently dealing with some touch-related issues when playing games (none of which would be a fatal issue for office/productivity), and comparing to my old tablets, I was expecting much more performance according to its specifications.
I think the tablet was never meant for gaming at all to begin with, however the specifications.
I'm working on a lineageos 18.1 bringup but this is the first time I'm dooing this, so I don't expect it to work very well. I'm fairly new to android development but recently I got official maintainer for resurrection remix for the oneplus 6 and 6T.
Here is my current progress, I will make the vendor repository next:
