Emergency! Lg g3 acting up after marshmallow(d855) no root - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So a week ago, I double tap my phone to turn it on and it doesn't. I try twice and nothing. I pressed on the power button and the screen did turn on, but since then, it's gotten so bad that neither the double tap nor the power buttons work. Sometimes, I use the camera shortcut to turn on the camera and Then go to the home screen. This worked for about a day, but then that isn't happening either. Now I find myself plugging it into the power supply to turn the screen and even taking out the battery and putting it back in. Since about a day ago, the screen won't turn on even if i get calls(any kind of call). When i'm on a call, the proximity sensor does it's job the beginning of the call, but When i want to end the call, it doesn't work and i have twist it or turn it on some other way. My phone discharged alarmingly fast, and i think it's because i had to leave the phone at very low charge levels. Also, i have a lot of apps, and all the ones that drain a lot have been deleted. So many bugs. No fixes. Please help
Update: I've reset my phone, no difference.

Flash with a stable rom. Or clear all settings do a wipe and reinstall.

Stopping screen from turning of during call..

Does anyone know how to stop the screen from turning off during a call?
Move the phone away from your head?
Otherwise, why would you need it to be one when you're talking on it?
turn on the speaker, i think that disables the sensor.
This is a huge problem with 2.1.
In Android 1.5 on the Eris, you could push the TRACKBALL during a call to wake up the screen.
In 2.1, you only have two options. Pull the phone away from your head (often works, but not always, especially if you're trying to get through a phone tree, and often going back to the screen) or push the 'End' button.
If your phone's screen has been off LONG enough, the 'end' button will wake it up.
If it hasn't, the 'end' button will both wake up the screen AND END THE CALL!
It's a huge risk, and unnecessary. THE MINUTE the OTA comes out, I'm calling HTC about it, and asking them.
Oh, and for what it's worth, Screebl Lite takes care of this.
Just set up Screebl, mine is like 20-90 degrees for both portrait and landscape, and for the in-call activity, I have it not be active when up to my ear.
Screebl works GREAT to keep the screen on properly during a call.
Still calling HTC about it. That functionality should be built in better, or at least give me a way to wake up the screen when it gets stuck.
That is exactly my problem. When i go to wake it up to navigate the through menu options it hangs up alot. Very irritating! I will try Screebl.
Thanks!
you can also press any of the two volume buttons and that will wake it up without any bad effect except for a volume change.
Good tip about the volume buttons, I wasn't aware of that trick.
thanks
sometimes my phone won't wake up when I pull it away from my ear, but I usually just move my hand over the prox sensor and then back and it generally wakes up.
Keep Screen
This is a good thread. I had this problem too. After reading your posts I used the copy of KeepScreen that I already had and it worked also! May be my imagination but proximity sensor seems more responsive too.

[Q] Phone Constantly Beeping about Something

Apologies if this has been asked already but I've searched for a good while.
Have a Samsung Galaxy S II for the past week. Once or twice while I was watching videos it would start to vibrate (while in silent mode) and I could only stop the vibrating by pressing the Home key. There were no incoming calls or messages that I could see.
The battery died 2 days ago after running down to 0% and since then the phone has been beeping more or less constantly when not on the charger. If it's on silent it will vibrate, if not on silent it will just beep away. Pressing the home key stops it but it starts up again a few minutes later. The battery indicator in the top right appears to be flashing with the little power icon as though it's a battery notification but there is no actual notification and there's nothing to say - battery level is about 95% or so when this starts I'd guess.
I've done 2 factory resets which haven't solved the problem and I installed a couple of custom battery apps to see if they'd take over the battery notification (assuming that's the problem) but that hasn't done anything. I also noticed that I can't seem to power the phone off anymore. If I turn it off, it just turns back on and waits at the phone unlock screen for me to enter my PIN.
Anyone experienced this before or know what might be causing it?
Hi,
I have the same problem here, can you please tell me if you have solved this problem and how?
Thanks
Same problem here - any solutions?

Hi,
I hope all of you are in Stock Kernel now.
Is it rooted?
If yes then please Go to CWM Recovery Mode and Go to Advanced and WIPR Dalvik Cache as well as Battery Stats...
Once this is done .. Reboot and check whether the problem is solved if not Try and use Stock ROM Battery Mod ..

How to force a reboot when the screen (sort of) freezes?

I'm new to the V10 -- my old beloved Note 4 was quickly unravelling so I traded it in for this phone. Other than the loss of the stylus, I quite like it. The second screen is neat. The fingerprint scanner works much better than the Note 4's ever did. All in all I'm fine with it.
(Haven't rooted it yet. Eventually.)
I have run into an issue that's a little confounding, though. Occasionally -- about once a week since the last OTA update -- the screen will "sort of" freeze. By "sort of" I mean the phone is obviously still running (I can turn the display on and off) but I'm unable to navigate by touch. The UI elements don't respond, I can't swipe away windows, I can't access notifications...
...my Note 4 used to do this occasionally, and what I'd have to do is long-press the power button for 8-10 seconds, which would force it to turn off, then turn it back on, and life would go on. The V10 doesn't do that -- when I long-press the power button for 8-10 seconds, I get that stupid V10 voice control program (I call it stupid because it hilariously misinterprets my voice commands - my daughter and I basically turn it on whenever we want to be amused by a big dumb phone). In short, there seems to be no way to force the phone to shut down through hardware other than pulling the battery... which is what I wind up doing, but it's weird that there's no way to force a shutdown with the power button.
Is there a way to change this in the settings anywhere? Or would I need to root the phone and load a custom rom for that?
Thanks for any help you can provide...
Try long pressing the power button and the volume down at the same time...that works for me
I can remove and put the battery back in faster than i can long press to reboot.
Also a factory reset after an ota is recommended. It might fix the freezing problem.

How to switch on Xiaomi Mi4i without the power button

Hi,
My phone has a faulty power button and I'm unable to get it fixed. I've found easy work-arounds for it for locking and unlocking the phone. However, I'm not sure how to turn on the phone if it's switched off.
When I connect the charger, even if the battery is 90% it won't turn on on its own...

Nope, the only way I could turn it on was to open the back cover (very painful process) and then press the button area with a pin.
Couldn't get it fixed, so I had to change the phone.
I think there are possibilities in rooted phones, but otherwise the best thing to do is to keep a battery alarm at 30% or more, and keep it on charging whenever you can to avoid a power off. In power on, there are many ways of locking the screen in the MI UI.

Thanks. I installed Blocco Schermo - Simi Studio v.3.21 , a simple app to lock the screen...and when i flagged the option "show in notification area" , the problem magically disappeared.. The Power On/Off button started to work again. I think it was an hardware problem (because the problem has come up after the phone was at the sunlight for hours in my car and went very hot) but now i think it's obviously a software problem.
Hi guys, I got the same problem too. Unfortunately, I drained my batt while playing games. So the problem now is I can't turn it on. Any idea how to turn on the phone without using the power button?
I solved it
Hi guys i solved a problem! You should hold main button + down volume button for 10-20 seconds. Then, when MI Remote opens, stay on the reboot and wait about 3 minutes, then stay on the reboot systems as well. Great work!
just change the volume flexible. its also not took much cost.

Sonim Xp7 phone will no longer sleep

Hello everyone so here's my story
Phone has been flawless until a few days ago never been so happy about my purchase.
I have had the phone for 2 years now no problems what so ever.
I started to notice the screen staying on all the time tried pressing the power button to put it into sleep and nothing.
If i hold down the power button it prompts me if i want to turn it off this rules out the power button not working.
Display setting-sleep after 15 sec
daydream is on
security is off and i also tried adding a screen lock to add the feature power button instantly locks also automatically lock is set to 54 sec.
i went into developer options and stay away is not checked.
Things i tried
I downloaded a app that puts a icon on my screen to put the phone in sleep mode WORKS! I am no expert but it seems like some type of trigger has broken between the power button and sleep.
I downloaded wakelock and nothing is running in background.
Did what i wanted to do last resort and did a full factory reset and recovery phone is fresh problem is still there. After searching for answers and reading many post i am at my last resort and posting for some help?
