i have recently flashed the Floyo 1.01 rom for hero, it come with flykernel 11 smartass, with default speed at 528/176
what speed should i overclock it ? whats the best speed for this rom ? does it drain much more battery with higher speed ?
I haven't had much battery drain using overclocked kernels, just remember to set up sleep profiles to underclock when screen off to maximise battery.
Start off with the FlyKernel-11 (Generic), crank upto 710, see if its is stable or it crashes,... If you crash, worry not, pull your battery, lower your overclock by one notch, try again. If it runs fine, try even putting the clock speed up.
Have I been clear?... Shout me if you need more help.
Hello all you xda-ers!
Please post information about the following aspects of your current device, in as much detail as possible:
Battery Life
Temperature
CPU clock
ROM
Kernel
Charger power
This survey will hopefully enable new owners like myself to determine whether or not we received a bad egg. Also, it will offer some info about how different ROMs, kernels, chargers and CPU clocks impact the Battery Life and Temps, two very contentious issues (I think?) with this device.
Awesome, lets do this
Battery Life: Newish device but VERY short - with moderate/heavy usage about 4 hours!
Temperature: 30C out of my pocket, but quickly shoots up to 40C+ after some usage
CPU: 1.5Ghz
Rom: Leedroid
Kernel: Default Leedroid kernel
Charger Power: Stock 5V 1A
Also put is whether GSM or cdma

Mikrunny using included anthrax kernel running at 1.5ghz. When not in use its around 77° F. The maximum I've seen when playing games is around 97° F. I'm on cdma btw.

Battery Life: Great. Anywhere from 16-24 hours with "light" usage, 6-10 with "moderate," and 4-6 with "heavy."
Temperature: 18C out of my pocket, average 30C, 40C after some usage
CPU: 1.2Ghz but it scales down according to battery life.
Tech: CDMA
Rom: Mine
Kernel: Currently using Anthrax Alpha RLS 9, but same temps with Stock kernel.
Charger Power: Stock 5V 1A
Who the hell rated this 1 star?
Battery Life: Pretty good. It lasts a whole day with light-medium usage (3-4 hours screen on, no games or anything).
Temperature: I think I have a phone that overheats no matter what, since it's in the top right and happens during light usage. The battery never really gets hot.
CPU clock: 1.2Ghz
ROM: ViperROM Redline RC2
Kernel: Stock? Whatever comes with the ROM im using
Charger power: Stock charger, through USB
Just got it up to 104° F playing Final Fantasy lol

That's what I want to know. I had to boost it back up.

it's nice being an insider sometimes... lulz..
same here. running inbreded ROM with rls09 alpha 7 anthrax kernel. i am at 70 perfect with a pretty decent amount of use on 10 hours now. clocked at 1.67
Battery Life: "Light" Usage, When I say "light" I mean L-I-G-H-T, like a text every once in a while, but that's about it - 30-48 hours
My personal "Normal" Usage 12-16 hours
"Medium/Moderate/Night Life " Usage: 6-10 hours
"Heavy/Drunk" Usage 3-5 Hours.
Temperature: Idk, cool when it's not doing anything, but it gets really warm when I'm doin stuff
CPU clock: Stock
ROM: ZR3D 1.5
Kernel: Stock
Charger power: A/C Stock
Seidio 1900
•Battery Life= Light use 30hrs or more .. Just texts and handful of phone calls.
Moderate use 6hr to 10hrs. Games,texts,calls,So on
Heavy use 4hr to 5hr. Helps to keep the brightness turned down alot..
•Temperature=Piss warm nothing hot just room temp
•CPU clock= Stock
•ROM= My own
•Kernel=Stock
•Charger power=Stock

Finally, some realistic battery life results. I get so tired of reading unrealistic battery life results from people but these are about on par with mine and pretty much everyone's EVO 3D if the terms "light" "moderate" and "heavy" were used loosely and/or like we're doing

I agree lol. I seen some odd ones ... Like someone snuck in with a 3500 mha battery saying they get 3 to 2 days heavy use but say they are using a stock battery lol.. I bumped the raiting up on the thread too lol..
sometimes battery percentage always stuck at one point for example at 65% or 85% and not moving when charging(phone on) if i restart it and suddenly it goes up to 99% is that from rom or need battery calibrated? or does my battery is damaged?
how long your battery last when playing 3D game or wifi browsing on airplane mode and every radio turned off + brightness on 5%?
already undervolt at minimum in dodova kernel with max speed at 1.2 ghz but the phone still get warm when playing 3D game near the camera,if i underclock it at 1ghz or maybe 800mhz will it save significant battery and reduce heat?

Dude, first of all, I'd suggest to stay away from under volting anything as it severely affects performance and life span of the hardware. It needs a lot of testing to get it correct, else it simply damages the hardware. Yes you may get more battery life but it wouldn't be a huge difference as per stock.
As per your first problem, simply calibrate your battery using battery calibrator from the market. Do this with defaults volt values.
As for 3d games, yes mine too gets hot but that is due to the gpu as well, so underclocking only the cpu won't help. And if you underclock both of them, then it will affect gameplay.
My phone lasts for at least four hours with mobile network on, but that is because I am using a 3460mah battery, not the default one.
thank you for answering
i just want to play 3D game above 2 hour more i will calibrate my battery and trying to underclock than undervolt it to 1 ghz , on 1.2 ghz is still play gta 3 all max with smooth framerate
just 2 simple questions guys. From what i read the v6 supercharger script helps the ram not go below 200....from monitoring my ram usage, the lowest ive seen it drop is 230mb ish. I have not monitored during gaming, but will it help with gaming?
and i see alot of persons UV to -100. Ive tried it and seen no almost no difference in battery life. (using Stweaks and Siyah kernel with Omega rom)
Does it affect gaming in any way, or is it just my eyes cause fruit ninja and temple run have slight framterate dips (or could it be power saving mode)?
thanks for the responses
Anyone?
I didnt get your question completely...
And yes, powersaving mod decreases framerate to 40 instead of almost 60fps.. you can check it by using fpsmeter in playstore..is paid btw..
And supercharger does decrease the ram being used but its not good for multitasking according to my experience..
Hope that clears it..

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know if undervolting to - 100 decrease overall performance in anyway?
Power saving mode will have an affect on overall performance. UV.......hmm if I'm honest I do it just so my phone doesn't get warm. A lot of tests show that UV will save around 1-2% of battery. Biggest battery drain are still the screen and apps that stop the device from entering deep sleep. If UV causes games to lag it simply means you've UV too much
For few days I will not have access charging my battery. I am thinking about disabling cores and lowering maximum cpu frequency for better battery life. I have root and carbon rom. Is it efficient disabling cores and make one core at %100, or 4 cores at lower use percentage? And what are my other options to save battery? I don't care much performance. I don't mind slowing down. I wish I could test myself but I don't have time to test.
Daily I use 3 cores at 1036MHz without excessive lags. I'm using SetCPU to do it. It's possible to create profiles and set frequency, governor and scheduler when a specific app is launched, when battery reaches into a low level, when screen is On/Off, etc.
Screen time about 7,5 hours.
For gaming I need to change it, of course.
I'm using Abricot kernel.
