A project by Offensive Security
The Kali NetHunter is an Android penetration testing platform targeted towards Nexus and OnePlus devices built on top of Kali Linux, which includes some special and unique features. Of course, you have all the usual Kali tools in NetHunter as well as the ability to get a full VNC session from your phone to a graphical Kali chroot, however the strength of NetHunter does not end there. We've incorporated some amazing features into the NetHunter OS which are both powerful and unique. From pre-programmed HID Keyboard (Teensy) attacks, to BadUSB Man In The Middle attacks, to one-click MANA Evil Access Point setups, access to the Offensive Security Exploit Database... And yes, NetHunter natively supports wireless 802.11 frame injection with a variety of supported USB NICs.
Documentation and Attack Descriptions
Attack descriptions as well as some documentation to get you started with the installation and setup of Kali NetHunter can be found at: https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki.
List of included attack tools: https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki#60-kali-nethunter-attacks-and-features
Is Kali NetHunter an Android ROM?
Kali Linux NetHunter is not a ROM but is meant to be installed over an existing stock/factory image of Android. It can also be installed over some Cyanogenmod based ROMs depending on device support. It is heavily based on using custom kernels and only supports a select number of devices. We're relying on you, the community, to port your devices for the full Kali NetHunter experience.

Hello,
None of this is my work, I just opened a Feature Request (Wishlist item) for the build of an official image of Kali NetHunter for Nougat (7.1.1) on Huawei Nexus 6P and thanks to @jcadduono and the guys here, we got an official image of NetHunter to work on Nexus 6P running Nougat.
Can't stretch this enough, but make sure to make a backup using your recovery on any other way, to flash it back on your Nexus if it goes wrong to prevent data loss.
I WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU SUFFER FROM DATA LOSS OR BRICK YOUR DEVICE nor provide any support for that matter, because even though I have the will to do so, I lack expertise.
Make sure you read all the comments from the Issue #706 to get a complete idea of what's going on.
How to install
Go to the nightly builds, select a version (usually the latest), locate and download the following (2) files:
nethunter-generic-arm64-kalifs-full-rolling-[VERSION].zip (Kali FS)
kernel-nethunter-angler-nougat-[VERSION].zip (Kernel)
Boot into recovery and:
Flash the: nethunter-generic-arm64-kalifs-full-rolling-[VERSION].zip
Flash the: kernel-nethunter-angler-nougat-[VERSION].zip
Reboot System.
Enjoy!
In my case, I flashed NetHunter over the Stock Android ROM and the Pure Nexus ROM having at that time the ElementalX kernel installed, plus some Pixel XL features (Dynamic Navigation Bar, Black Bootanimation, Pixel Launcher, Google Assistant etc.) and everything seems to be working just fine.

Special thanks and the credits @jcadduono for building and maintaining the image as well as for the support, and to all the guys who worked on it here, testing, providing logs and feedback. Great work!!!
Best regards,
Elias

Thanks ! i will try it !
Thanks for offering to maintain a thread for me, I have a hell of a time tracking all these threads.
If you guys have an issue, please use the @ feature to mention me, ex. @jcadduono (it will trigger an email)
you should update the post now to point to the nightly index instead of a specific build.
I now have version 1.1 of the kernel up starting with https://build.nethunter.com/nightly/3.15.4-20170116-1311/
It has fixed the crashes with WiFi dongles.
I'd also like to make sure everyone knows - The NetHunter kernel for Nougat is based on ElementalX 4.04 at the moment.
If you have issues unrelated to NetHunter features, check the ElementalX thread in the 6P dev forums to see if they are also experiencing the issue.
Enjoy!

So far so good flashed over Pure Nexus.
That's made my day, works perfectly on RR 7.1.1 .. Thanks a lot
Works on simple aosp as well. Thank you very much.
I found out that the automatic screen timeout is not working anymore, the screen would stay on forever...

I'm pretty sure it's not possible. No driver support for monitor mode for the internal wifi chip.
Anyone know how to set selinux in this kernel to permissive?

It is forced permissive already. It only pretends to be enforcing to pass SafetyNet.

Ah okay thanks, I'm off topic but I'm trying to get viper working and thought the enforcing status might be getting in the way, is there a way to make it reflect that it is permissive in the about settings if I don't mind not having android pay functionality?

Hey what's up, let me introduce you to a new kernel, PwnKernel, Finally a kernel to Pwn Wifi Networks
Just to let you know that, whatever you do with the Kernel/Attacking is your own responsibility
If cats are starting to attack you and break your wifi dongle it's all your fault
Flashing a kernel is your own responsibility, if your music stops playing it's not my fault
I am doing this in my free time, I will gather whatever performance tweaks I can find.
Please don't request complete features as I won't implement those, just performance tweaks
And please don't bash this kernel's face in as it's my first kernel release :victory:
Features 4.4.4 (Kitkat):
Android 4.4.4 is based on Franco's Kernel r68
Build with -O3 Flags
Compiled with SaberMod 4.9.2
LZO Compression
Packet Injection Supported
Monitor Mode Supported
AirCrack-Ng suite is working
BadUsb is working
Features For Android 5 (Lollipop):
Android 5.1 is based on Franco's Kernel
Compiled with SaberMod 4.9.2
Gzip Compression
Packet Injection Supported
Monitor Mode Supported
AirCrack-Ng suite is working
BadUsb (Not tested on L)
Supports multiple Monitor Modes at once
Support for the following devices
TP-LINK TL-WN722N (Confirmed Working)
Linksys WUSB600N (Confirmed Working)
ALFA Network AWUS036NEH (Confirmed Working)
TP-LINK TL-WN725N V1 & V2 (Might work, you'd have to rely on users to confirm it)
ALFA Network AWUS036H (Might work, you'd have to rely on users to confirm it)
How to install:
Download the lastest version e.g. pwn_kernel_10042014.zip
Go into your custom recovery
Flash the zip and you're good to go

Tested with the following roms:
Google Stock AOSP 4.4.4
Mahdi Rom
Android 5.1 Stock
Why would you want to install this kernel ?
This kernel is meant for people who wants to have their usb wifi dongle working in android
Not only that you would be able to put the wifi dongle in monitor mode and packet sniff all the packets in the air
You could kick people off the network/Internet even if you're not connected to the Access Point
You could crack and attack their Access Point by attacking WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPS etc...
If you always wanted +2 wifi's at the same time you're able to
No more need for a laptop, just a phone to be more mobile
Tested it in Kali Linux and it works fine and fast
Big Thanks to for making this possible:
franciscofranco - For his awesome kernel ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/orig-development/kernel-franco-kernel-r1-t2987173 )

Chances are if you dont already know what this kernel is meant to do, it isnt meant for you.
On another note, this kernel makes me want to buy a wifi dongle just to play around

+This is so easy to add support for wlan adapters (even using instruction in other threads), so I don't think this thread do anything...
Also if kernel have modules (dunno if franco have I'm not using it) there is chance they should be precompiled with it I think? (magic number etc.. If version changed) I had to compile modules when was making -dirty for pollux_windy with ath9k_htc support (then flash via nice custom zip)...
Aand how about firmware files eh? Or maybe I miss something?

Hi,
to use aircrack or other tools with this kernel, do we need to chroot into kali/backtrack or can we just, if we have working android-arm-binarys, use them directly through Terminal Emulator?

hey, guess what, reported this thread for NOT being an original work. it is based on franco kernel, and no matter what is included, its still based on it, so not an original work.
obviously you already knew that it is not an original kernel, or you wouldnt be curious when i would report it. nor would i have reported it if it wasnt for your comment. there is no need for such comments publicly.

Sure. Make sure it has TWRP Recovery.
I was able to run most of the apps on Xperia S, nAOSP 6.0 ROM. A few functionalities worked too. The full version doesn't work, I get the error of not enough RAM in TWRP. Flashed the minimal version. Attached some screenshots of the apps, edited to remove details. It changes the bootanimation and wallpaper too though.

Of course my friend.
This is a lightly customized variant of Resurrection Remix for the Moto G5S Plus (sanders). I aim to build at least once a month, ideally soon after each monthly security update is merged into the RR tree.
On top of the official version of Resurrection Remix for sanders (which is already great!), there's a handful of tweaks I've made:
Lightly-customized kernel based on RR stock
Power-efficient workqueues
NVIDIA's "relaxed" power-optimized functions
Bringup to 3.18.124
TurboPower charger support
ARCore smart selection model files
Slightly improved APK read performance
GSS garbage collection for ART
Zopfli-compressed APKs conserve space on system partition without incurring additional performance overhead
Enabled use of SIMD instructions (armv8 NEON) in aac/amrwb/h264 codecs
Tweaked some OpenGL ES wrapper methods from regular JNI to fast JNI, which should reduce JNI overhead
ScrollView tweaked for responsiveness
JNI, DisplayService, Vulkan, and OpenGL built with -O3 (yes, this may or may not be a gimmick - figured it was worth a shot)
ROM DownloadPatcher Download (all tweaks used on top of official RR)
Instructions
If coming from a ROM other than Resurrection Remix, you should factory reset before flashing this ROM. Otherwise, you are advised to wipe system, cache, and Dalvik cache partitions before continuing, although a dirty flash without any wiping will probably work too.
If you're coming from official Resurrection Remix, you should probably be able to dirty flash from the latest official version at all times.
After flashing, flash Gapps/Magisk other mods that you want to use; this ROM does not include any of those things.
FAQ
Does this ROM support VOLTE?
If the official release has it, this should too; I did not (and don't know how to) make any changes regarding VOLTE. It did disappear for a short while at the end of the 6.0.0 versions, for some reason, but it seems that it's been added back. Of course, VOLTE support is dependent on your network connectivity/regional availability and your carrier.
Does this ROM support WiFi calling?
Yes. Check in the dialer settings. Again, this feature is dependent on your carrier. Not all carriers that claim to support WiFi calling on your device may work with this ROM.
Does this ROM have GApps? Magisk?
No and no. Flash them yourself if you want to use them.
Yes, this post is kind of ugly. I might make it better later, but everything you need to know is more or less here.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, so I think the answer is probably no. If you could link me to what you're talking about, that would be appreciated.

You say this is based on top of the official release Oreo release for Sanders. I don't want to complicate things. We can PM. Please excuse my ignorance if I'm wrong.

No worries! My wording is complicated there and I should probably fix it. No, this is not somehow modified from the actual .zip that Resurrection Remix officially distributes. This is built from the Resurrection Remix sources. "From scratch", if you will. This is also not based anyhow off of the official stock Oreo ROM from Motorola (as suggested by the thread that you linked).

Please do. I'm curious if the battery is good, is the ROM stable, and hows the overall experience compared to other ROMs or even the official latest rr.
People seem to want screenshots for some reason. Here's a bunch. Customizations mostly.

Battery us good. The ROM is stable and buttery smooth.
There are many customizations which are not present in the official RR.
With the integration of Alice kernel things have become too much good.
Hey ppl. This just started coming up. Any ideas what this means.

Nothing to worry about. Just a notification that SELinux is permissive. This is part of the new Trust interface that LineageOS has implemented (which has trickled through to RR).
I like this ROM a lot, but I've got a few issues. I have to use Universal Safetynet Fix to pass SafetyNet, otherwise I get a CTS Profile Mismatch error. With USF flashed though, I get a vendor mismatch error on startup (which I can just dismiss). Additionally, on every boot I am asked to select my launcher even if I have saved it.
Possibly better EIS performance? Yes and no xD
Long time ago, some users flash a Magisk Module for MI A1. The module add enable EIS and tweak a little with other lines. Im only take persist line to enable EIS and share a zip to the Sanders Telegram group. Its a parcial solution, tested on 720p/1080p but on 4K not get working. Good work bro and like more that type of thread, no ugly, "minimal" style

It comes with a lot of pentesting things. So it's basically for hackers. There is something called Kali liniux that you use on a computer, and that's what a lot of hackers use, so this is just the mobile version pretty much
Are external USB WiFi supported?
Damn thanks so much. I tried building the kernel forever and failed many times (I'm not a developer). My question is, What do we do when theres a new OS update? Last ROM i was using was a mission to update to newer Android updates.
Does this work with AOSP based roms or only OOS?
So far is working with no issues or me. I'll update more after a few days.

It would be nice if you could provide some more information..which toolchain has been used?

This kernel is compatible with OOS Pie..

The download link on the download page does say Pie on it. But yeha it'll be good fo the OP to specify and warn people not to use it on Q.

Little teaser of what more is to come
You are a man of your word.
Huge thanks to you and the entire Kali Nethunter team !
I don't how you did finally get rid of this pesky reboot bug by plugged in wlan adapter, but you delivered.
And don't disappoint.Like always.
I could go on complimenting, but as someone said to me once, back to the issue related subject on hand.
There are none.
--
Even my to an oblivion gebranded Asus NIC is working very good (with Realtek 8812au).The same goes for 8811 and the other AC ones I have.
I hadn't the time to test every single one, but I am curios if the Realtek 8811eu(s) has made it, as well.
For many people this chipset has somekind of importance, because it was the second revision of the TP-LINK TL-WN722N model.
Like you wrote, has Nexmon are couple of problems.
I could use nexutil, but solely without results.
---
I would like to thank you in the name of the Nexus community, who has held on to this device series, for one or another reason.
I will try and look, that my next device a OnePlus 7 or maybe a Xiaomi Mi 9T is going to be..
I wanted to ask if you could post a link to the most recent repository for this kernel.
I tried to build it of yours, about a week ago and couldn't pass the usb related bug.
I started to revisit the Oreo kernel for the Nvidia Shield K1 tablet, perhaps you saw the link to the posts on Twitter, over here at the shield sub-forum.
Unfortunately bricked the device a month after I finished compiling it while trying to port Linux Tegra (Ubuntu flavoured OS to the Shieldtablet..).
I kept the finished kernel. The best result did I link in the Nvidia forum at Xda and 5 other iterations are in my Afh-dev account.
I did a couple test runs yesterday, but had no luck so far.
Maybe you could take a look a the kernel and give me a hint when you have a bit free time, ..next summer?
Many heaps^
UsPdSr
edit.
The request for a link to the recent kernel source has answered itself..
Many thanks for this release. Nethunter works like a Charme
Just for those user, who like to use a other rom, than the resource hungry Google stock one, AOSiP 8.1 works just as well.
If someone rather prefers a stock environment, then SUPERXE or nrdw are a good alternative as well.
The nethunter page says the current download for 2020.2 is available. Does that mean nexmon is fully working ?
Re4son changed the Nexmon files in Nethunter's repo ~2 weeks ago again.
https://gitlab.com/kalilinux/nethun...3e47c0368acbf5878cce/oreo/angler/system/lib64
After some issues* with my 6P during testing various compatible roms for the new kernel, which reminded me painful at the last days of my previous one, which bite the dust end of last year after kimocoder's try to 'enhance' a kernel respectively released a build for android stock, which already existed to the time, based primarily on jcadduono work, revised by Re4son and then as latest working release to the official repository added. After I tried to build one by myself, supported the community(especially for this device at the time) and made pressure to the whole botched so-called "working" releases for Oreo 2 years prior.
He put some bells and whistles on it, but the massive reboots after trying to set external wlan adapter into Monitor mode, didn't let the kernel unfortunately run properly.
I am looking for a new device, but am unsure what to buy.
Beside that the Nexus nostalgic will always be a great and important factor.
Too bad that the foremost specs and the faulty hardware behave not so harmonic are over time.
I can gladly upload installer which I build a couple of days ago with the changes from Nethunter's repo.
If the Xiaomi Mi 9T wouldn't be so "full of MIUI", bootloader restrictions and Anti-Rollback protection, could it be a spectacular device.
But Xiaomi's business strategy to release every week 3 "new(sic!)" devices are a bit too generic for me, without sounding pretentious.
OnePlus is obviously the chosen candidate - Google's Pixel aren't any different from Samsung Galaxy horror show and the ridiculous expensive and at the same time sh*tty performance mastering iPhone by now. :E
The price of the OnePlus are getting affordable, some provider finally starting to pick them up here and even not everything is honkey doorey with them (firm politics have changed rapidly as well) , so are they the best-bad choice.
Sorry, I digressed.
I am happy to upload the kernel or the complete installer if prefered for you to test.
Cheers

@Re4son
I noticed the thread title 'rom' contained.
If possible, would I like to ask to change it into 'Overlay' or kernel.
Just for user, who are unsure about the application, function, usability of Kali Nethunter.

I wanted to make it clear that the device issues are to 99,9 % result of the age or his famous hardware default(s), not of this awesome work and the entire project behind.
Can't get the phone into monitor mode for the life of me.
Thanks for this very much. Im just starting to get my feet wet with this nethunter stuff. Any tips and tricks would be appreciated.
huge thanks for your work.
there is a problem: i have installed twrp, magsik, android oreo(angler-opm7.181205.001-factory-b75ce068.zip) and nethunter(nethunter-2020.2-angler-oreo-kalifs-full.zip). i could see a new HID KeyBoard Device in Win7 ,but the HID Attacks didn't work well . how can i fix this issue ?
upon flashing the file and booting , i tried opening the nethunter app , but it says "New app build detected: Doing app files update.(init.d and filesDir) and then force closes. the device is connected to the internet . what am i doing wrong ? .os is nrdw's stock optimized

Wipe everything and start over.
Do you build your own installer, or flashed the official release?
I had a couple of problems with Nrdw's rom, if I remember correct. It is likely to work if you fire the last stock on it, or try ABC, they are all very stable.

Hm, Re4son changed the Nexmon files shortly after the pre-release and apparently fixed them.
I use it not that often and currently have I a seperate setup for work.
In any case, did I build a new installer with a freshly baked chroot, all the updates and upgrades, Apps and the currently recommended kernel for this device.
I uploaded it.
Wipe and format your device and flash afterwards the newest stock rom.
Flash Magisk and try it with the installer again.
If you encounter issues would I refer to the Kali Nethunter's gitlab presence and write a issue report.
The installer (full chroot, bootanimation, kernel..).

Do you mean with 'update' the one recently introduced by the Nethunter team?
I assure you that is not in correlation with such bug.
Since release didn't I have a problem with one single external adapter.
As written before, do I not use nexutil often.
Re4son changed the patched firmware ~2 weeks after pre-release.
I cloned the repo, devices and build you the installer with python3.
If you have further issues would I recommend that you issue a bug report on gitlab, or write Re4son, yesimxev or kimo here..
it seems is not clear, is nexus 6p have a working monitor mode and injection working?
