Used H850 find which network - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi
I'm in the UK and have just got a used g5 h850. It came with a Vodafone sim in and i was told it was unlocked.
The Vodafone sim doesn't register ( no network) and neither will my tesco or giffgaff sim.
How can i fond out what network it was onso i can get an unlock code?
The seller is ignoring my emails.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Ta

I've installed an app from playstore called lg phone info.
That says it's on EE.
When it's been sat on the side for a bit and I turn it on, it says network locked at the top left of the screen.
I take it this means it's locked to ee still.
Is there any way of finding out if it's had to many codes entered and is permanently locked?

Unlock For Use In Spain

Hello, I am currently in Spain for 6 weeks for work. I contacted T-Mobile for an unlock code for my phone prior to leaving. I got a sim card today, popped it in and booted up, but my unlock code doesn't work. Does flashing roms have any effect on the unlock code working or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its not easy being here without a phone.

What's happening exactly after you boot?
Because I'm also trying to use a Vibrant in Europe and I don't even get to an unlock code... it just boots as if no SIM is in, and doesn't do anything with it (it shows it's in there, but I can't choose operators, join networks etc.).

The SIM you have probably has different bands than what the phone can support. Check GSM Arena for what bands the Vibrant supports. If you are sure its supported, it's probably that the phone can't read the SIM. If it can read it, it will ask for an unlock code.
@ OP: ROM flashing does NOT affect whether a phone is locked or unlocked. The code you were given is wrong then. It could be possible that you wrote it wrong since they spell it over the phone usually. I would contact T-Mobile AGAIN and be a bit upset over getting the wrong code.
Alternatively you can use an app called Galaxy S Unlocker to unlock the phone. But try calling T-Mobile first. It's faster and easier.

What does then (exc. from finding an unlock code)?
Cause I'm stuck, GSM Arena says it's a Quad-Band phone and supports the European frequencies.
Once unlocked, nothing should affect the phone's unlocked status.
I beleive carriers and manufacturers can lock it again but I'm not sure of the procedure. For your issue, GET the correct unlock code and you are good to go.
I was going in circles with T-Mobile. Ended up buying sgs unlock off the market and was unlocked in less than a minute. The T-Mobile support staff are useless.

[Q] how to find out network lock?

Hi I have just purchased a mini pro from ebay, the phone was sold as unlocked. But when I put my orange sim in it asks for a network unlock code.
I'm not to bothered about having to pay to unlock it. Just can't find which network it's locked to. There is no branding and the splash screen is stock SE. Also I have checked the imei with orange and it's not blocked.
Is there anyway to figure out which network it's locked to?
I know there is a command to get into the service menu (don't know what it is) will this tell me what I need to know?
Sorry about the essay
Any help appreciated.

When the unlockecode massge comes just click cancle and watch what happens.
Yeah I have done that and been on the phone, but there is nothing anywhere I can find saying what network it is locked to.
I have tried to select the orange network and it will not connect as it needs unlocking.
So I need to find out which network it's locked to. Guess I will have to randomly test sim cards lol

[Q] droid razr is not asking for network unlock code

Hello.
I'm facing a really silly problem. My motorola droid razr (european version) lock to an operator but when inserted another SIM doesn't ask for the network unlock code. =/
The phone is not rooted and is using the stock rom.
When is insert a different SIM, it just go ahead to main screen. And doesn't show the sercive either.
I searched for threads but they mentioned rooted devices.
Anybody having idea about it?????????
I am having the exact same problem. Did you find any solution?
You can reach that screen where the phone asks for Unlock Code, by pressing #073887* but my problem isn't solved.
When I enter unlock code, it gives this erros: "Network unlock request unsuccessful"
The site from where I ordered the unlock code, told me that my phone is Hardlocked. I asked them if they could unlock it, but didn't receive any response yet
I did fastboot as well to see if that helps, but problem is still there.
That's y always get the unlocked code from your operator.. They would know how to unlock the phone

[Q] S2 form Orange UK. Is it locked to this provider or open for all providers?

Hello, I just got Samsung Galaxy S II from UK, on lower back of the phone there is small orange logo.
Are these kind of phones locked to Orange UK or are they sim-free?
Also if posible pls provide me with any links to be able to unlock it manually if needed and pls recommend custom Rom.
Thanx in advance.
You could try a different SIM card to see if it works or not.. If not, then call Orange and ask them for the unlock code. Tell them you need to travel to a different country. They may charge 20 bucks or so. I am not sure if there is a free work around to unlock your phone. Maybe someone else can help.
As for custom ROM, I would recommend using Resurrection Remix
Dial *#7465625# and see.
It spells out SIMLOCK by the way.

this method didn;t show simlock numeric code. It only showed some statuses like network lock - on, SF lock - off, CF and some other.

Sim network unlock PIN

Hi everyone,
Everytime I open the phone I'm asked to enter a Sim network unlock PIN.
At first I talked with my carrier, which tried to give me few PINs to unlock the network lock, but none of them worked.
After reading a while on the internet (and also as it says on the box) I suspected that this is about the Region Lock samsung implemented in it's new devices.
I bought my device in Europe (and well, I don't live in Europe).
I talked with the shop I bought the device from just to make sure the device is not sim locked, and they claim that they indeed sell only sim free devices, so I turned to Samsung.
After talking with Samsung in the country I bought the device, I was given an unlock PIN, but unfortunately, it doesn't work.
Do you have any idea what could it possibly be?
Maybe I tried too many times wrong PINs and the network is locked now? Don't know already....
P.S.
All the phone features works fine (if I go out of the screen with the PIN request), except for mobile internet and calls of course.
Images attached below.
They claim wrong that my friend is sim locked & you will need to find out what carrier its locked to, that carrier will have specific codes.
At least that is my understanding.

Thanks, but based on what info are you so sure?
I talked with the shop again and they INSIST their devices are sim free.
I need to have some kind of proof to argue that.
And also, I'd like to hear more opinions please...
BUMP - any ideas please?
Have the shop were you bought it from replace the phone or you can call the carrier that the phone is lock to and request the unlock code. It should be very easy to determine that by firmware build number (For example: G925P is Sprint)

Just confirmed it's a G925F... so it's not sim locked, as the shop stated.
This phone is simlocked to a network. You need to find out what network it is locked to then get a unlock code.
Once you enter an unlock code it will be unlocked to all network....

Ebay is a cheap place to get unlock code but you NEED to know the original network

Why can't it be? that is a model number for UK handset but it doesn't mean anything else. All UK and europe (also middle east) models are G925F , some are network locked and some are not.
Accept it and do something about it. Ask for refund or ask the seller to get you unlock code.

Ok thanks. Thought all G925F are sim unlocked and cannot be locked...
Is there a way to tell the network it's locked to? (because I know what the shop is going to say: "no, its not unlocked so we dont know the network...")
Not sure, try GalaxSim Unlock from the play store. It might tell you

Doesnt seem to support S6.
Regional Lock
Your phone is regionally locked., which means you should unlock it with a Europian SIM card before using in an other country.

What you need to do is check with the shop where the phone came from? Which country the phone was bought. Once you know that you can try different sims (they are freely available from providers or ask your friends). The unlock code is a combination of Phone IMEI number and the network so you need that information.
Let me know how you get on...
