Hey guys,
I just created a thread to update the AT&T S7 Edge to Android Nougat, take a look at this thread.

However, if someone can give me the update URL of the regular AT&T S7, I can create a new thread for the S7, so you can update to Nougat too.
If you can follow the instruction in this post and give me the update servers URL, I can search for the Nougat update.

I just went into the data folder for the update app and looked in some of the files there, this one looks to be the same format.
https://xdmd.sl.attcompute.com/oma/...0513D3D03D&r=5431526E643031715158684E616C4579
There seemed to be some other URL in there as well, but I think it's for something else. The text isn't exactly formatted to be easy to read.
So, my G890A is now downloading a S7 update file, I'm curious to see what will happen...
Good news, I found the url, so tomorrow I'll look for the Nougat update for you guys

No, but he's saying he'll look through for other updates at that URL. The same process uncovered unreleased Nougat files for S7E.

So goodmorning guys, I just woke up and went searching for updates.
This is the most recent one update at the moment, it's 1,53GB:

Please take a look at this thread if you want to know how to flash it, I have exams today so I'll be updating the regular S7's thread tonight.
Downloading file now, will update with the results.

finished update (via adb sideload zipfile), and noticed at the end of the process it wiped /data and /cache for whatever reason, effectively resetting my phone to factory defaults. So just a heads up.

Yes, just follow the steps from the S7 Edge. I will make a thread for the S7 tonight, if I have time for it. The Odin files can be found online, probably on Sammobile.

Yes it is. You can just flash the stock firmware with Odin.
So I see some people have tried this, can anyone post screens hots, or results. Is this confirmed to work? No one actually specifically said they were successful.

Hi, my Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.
My device is bought in Singapore.
Its my first time rooting my device.
Ran into a problem that I couldn't turn on my wifi anymore. (tried wifi fixer app and turning airplane mode on and off)
I have successfully rooted my device as verified with the Root Checker App.
I have downloaded all the files from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330598
I should done all steps correctly.
After I have done those steps, I downloaded Simons_JB_Rom_v100_based_on_AMH1.zip
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2374899
Transferred it into my phone then I proceeded on installing the Custom ROM.
I've backed up my stuffs through the the recovery.
I have reset my phone to factory settings, wiped the cache partition, wiped Delvik cache.
I did a restart but i did not see any "Yellow exclamation logo".
After all, I proceeded on to install the ROM.
I cant turn on my wifi from now on. I've tried to download the "Wifi Fixer" app but it wont work.
I got a feeling that I have not erased my previous stock ROM but I proceeded on to installing the custom ROM.
Any kind souls out there who can help me or give me some links that I could refer to?
Thank you in advance! :fingers-crossed:

You need to do a complete wipe and install a stock rom and verify if the phone works. If it does then start again with rooting etc. If not return it for a replacement or repair.

Just install the custom Rom over the top of the old one, no need to do factory reset or wipe anything. The custom roms are based on stock anyway.
Try that and see how it goes.

I have same problem like you, and I finally fail back to stock rom of my region. Then get the root access and delete all bloatware.
So any update of your case, maybe we have the same root cause
I know that this thread is very old but I didn't want to make a new topic on something that was similiar to the problem I was having, apoliges if making a new thread was the right thing. I just really need you all's help.
I'm in need of some assistance.
I have my Galaxy Mega on Metro Pcs. Woke up today and decided to root it or at least ( attempt ) to root it myself. I looked up a couple tutorials and eventually did it. BUT, due to me being inexperienced I didn't make a "backup" of anything.
So now, I'm stuck with a Galaxy Mega that seems to be rooted on another platform other than Metro's. I also am unable to use the Wifi feature, and it seems that I can't transfer files via USB - PC
I tried reverting my mistake but I don't think I'm flashing the right thing. Can someone please guide me in the right direction as to flashing this Mega back to the way it was. I don't want to bother with the root anymore, I just want the phone back to the way it was.
I'd really appreciate any help you gentlemen could give me.

download the zip file. than unzip it and flash it through odin.
That site doesn't have the firmware for the U.S. Galaxy Mega 6.3

Given the way Huawei works, you might need to check a lot .
I have the update showing up in my phone. If I unroot and run the updater, will that be enough to make it work without wiping my phone? I screwed up the last update by not unrooting first, and could only get it done by adding the update to the dload folder and wiping/restoring my stuff. I don't want that again.

- Clicked "Unroot" in SuperSU.
- Extracted the Recovery.img from the B321 update and flashed it (TWRP is no longer there when I boot into recovery)
- Clicked download and update in the updater software. Clicked "Install" and accepted the prompt.
- Phone boots into the updater and it fails at 26%.
Any ideas why it fails? I am definitely on B321, so I thought I flashed the right recovery and unrooted. I don't think I changed any system files.

Big exclamation point, "Software install failed" underneath, "press powerkey to confirm".
Pressed power button to restart.
Phone reboots to what looks like an updater screen for less than half a second then reboots again.
Boots into the phone fine but still I'm on B321.
Notification screen says ""System update failed last time".
No other notification or information other than that the update is now gone but available to be downloaded again.

In case anyone like me who can't bear the phone with gargantuan text, icon etc and would like to change the lcd dpi, don't bother then because the screen will be unusable if you change the lcd value. Don't know yet. A beta user said all they had to do was go into fastboot and unlock... Hopefully the release build is the same.
So... either wait and see, unlock now, or go for it and be the first to try.
Does nougat have the dreaded power management?
Just tested Daydream a bit. The power button is no longer a problem
But I can't find any options to adjust blur or flicker like in LeanageOS. Also, I still get quiet a bit of drifting to the right. Was hoping Official would help with that, as other fixes/solutions had minimal impact for me.

this file for BQJA is on SamMobile, SamFirm, and Updato. These are OTA updates besides the flashing required in that.
I currently have an S8 on the Oreo beta and will be buying a Note8 this weekend because of this. I AM SO EXCITED!
Oh just a side note, this may be unstable and crash, you have been warned.

1. Download Odin and flash this https://drive.google.com/uc?id=19gW_CxUf2HdL4UYyxTkyOnBY8cluRIVS&export=download
1.5 In CSC use HOME_CSC to keep data, normal to wipe
2. Download this file: https://samsung.firmware.science/download?url=48993/1488/SS-N950USQS2BQK2-to-U2CQL1-UP
3. If you have an SD card, transfer that to your Sd carz
4. Boot into recovery
5.SD: select update from sd card then select your OTA called update.zip
5.ADB: on your phone select sideload over adb then type adb sideload update.zip (replace that update.zip with full file directory)

N950U, so kinda but no, not really. If you set your CSC to A then yah, if not it has carrier bloat.

I'm already on sprints latest. That ok or do I need to downgrade before doing update.zip in recovery? Any mirrors for U2CQL1? Every time I try to download, it fails

I seriously just got to about 750 mb downloaded of the file and it just stops and starts over. Can't get it downloaded? What the heck lol
I was at 12 percent and the same thing happened to me lol. I'll just wait for the mirror.
Somehow, after 4 attempts at downloading, it worked and only took ~5 mins. everything appears to be in the zip file. I loaded the BK2 file (never got cell signal, and had a lot of strange things in settings) and am applying the update now. Hopefully this doesn't screw up anything. with the BK2 my settings showed custom for the status though, so not sure if I just screwed myself out of Knox stuff.

Looks like it's working, some things I noted:
I had a few strange apps in my service folder (BoA and some games)
Samsung connect was causing a bunch of force closures.
Even though I was on unlocked before this, I ended up on Verizon (my carrier).
Everything else seems normal, and had I done a wipe I'd probably be in even better shape. Might to a whole tomorrow.

Don't need odin for this, it's an OTA.
Just put it on your phone, and go to recovery mode and flash from update.zip or whatever.

Please post how things went - especially if you are rooted (?), as its easy to end up unrooted at times.
OTA is failing for me after unrooting. I also restored the latest restore.img from the relevant thread before I attempted to update.
Anyone with root able to get OTA installed?

I am not so worried about rerooting if it is necessary, but am very worried about getting wiped. How did yours come out ?

Did you have to unroot before updating ?
Never-mind had to unroot it would not work otherwise. But still wont finish - maybe because i may still have a different then stock kernel even though I unrooted.

You need to unroot, and also make sure you have the reserve.img partition restored. If you unlocked the bootloader after the .27 OTA, reserve.img is deleted during unlock.

Will this cause a wipe ? If so, will wait for a bigger update.
I'm not currently rooted, so my results won't matter too much atm

All I have to do is to not screw up, and after having been on Samsungs since S3, where most things were straight forward and relatively easy, there is a good chance I will.
Will be doing more reading - wish there was a guide like the unlocking and rooting of the US TMo guide thread.

It's very simple, and the script does most of the work. All you have to do is hit Enter a few times, and let it run.
Back up your data to be safe, and worse case scenario, there is an MSM tool available that will restore the phone to stock.

Is there a better backup than Google Drive for data - was so easy with TWRP ?

Use Google Drive backup, but you should first temporarily turn off your password/fingerprint authentication. That's the only way to ensure a complete backup is run. That's been an issue with Google device backup as a whole since 9.0 began enforcing encryption on backups.
You can turn it back on as soon as the backup completes.
One thing I've noticed already on this update is idle battery drain with 5G enabled (connected or not) has improved dramatically.
I would suggest that anyone who re-roots after makes sure to use a freshly patched kernel pulled after the update.
