you need to add a flash script, you could use the flash script of the 266 firmware and rename it to 273 or 292

in the flashtool folder(C:/user/.flashtool or something like that) there is a folder devices(not sure it's called devices) look up the folder of your device(f5121 or f5122) and open that folder. Here you can find the flash scripts, now copy/paste the flash script file from 266 firmware and rename it into 273 or 292
also make sure you have the lastest version of flashtool installed

Hi my friend
Download Devices.zip and unzip and replace F51XX Folder to C:/Users/Your User/.flashtool/devices
Thanks man. I did what you said but it still errors. So what i did to fix it was to download the 0.9.23.2 x10flasher.jar and replaced the original . and then when i hit flash it asked if i wanted to use the new fsc. So it worked flashed android 6 on xperia x android 7.
lol

hi man~I downloaded the 0.9.23.2 x10flasher and when i hit flash it didn't ask me to use the new fsc and still "No flash script found." don't know what to do now.
I was also want to flash 6 from 7
@kistigun I still have the same issue. I tried the original files that come with Flashtool, they are only called 34.0.fsc/34.2.fsc of it asked me to use the 34.0.fsc i said yes no luck for me there. so i thought maybe the file is broken and i took the files from @pmrk74 i took his 34.0.xxxx.fsc, renamed it like my rom (34.0.A.1.289) and it asked me to use that fsc i said yes. still not working.

hi thanks for your work.
will try it out.
sorry i clicked "thanks" button but reached the daily limit
Hi, tried it but wasnt able to extract using all the possible page sizes. must be something wrong with what i'm doing.
Alternatively, i pulled the system folder from the phone, then added the system files to the rooted zip file.
i was able to flash the resulting zip file... but i only got a bootloop
Can this be used in latest ICS .587 firmware?

I just tried it, n now Im on edited stock rom.. haha but for better root acess u need to update busybox n superuser binary..
Fyi I uncompressed it with 2048, and successfull.. I dont know why u cant.. :S
@OP: can you remove "FOR ALL XPERIA PHONES" from thread title? Since this doesn't work for all xperias, like Arc S and Neo V.
Extracted .587 ftf, work only with 2048 compression.
Anyway, do you know how to save more space for /data or /vendor partition? Usually when flash, /vendor or /data/idd is created and leave some unuse space there.

Nice guide. But i was hoping the other way arround. Like making a flashable rom + custom kernel to be a full .ftf file. That way i and every1 else can easily flash any custom rom with custom kernel using only flashtool.
Anyway thanks for the guide. Might giv it a try.:good:
I thought it would explain how to root android by yourself not just copy/paste but some people would like this way more. Lazy people
Tapped with Xperia Play running AOKP 4.0.4 Milestone 6

Thanks

I thought about that too, so i searched google and there is a thread about a guy who tried to do it. However, he could not do it because to create sin files you need signature keys that only Sony has. in other words, only Sony can make that happen. :silly:
I got a error in cmd,page size ....

For me it works fine on Windows 7 64 bit and Gingerbread ROM.
Essentially to root android you place a su file in system, however its hard to do that without root so exploits are found

I think you can. We need to unlock bootlader for flash kernel. So flash system no need to unlock boot loader.
One question how do you make .sin file after extract it?
now we hane extracted system.how can we use it when its extracted.
any way to compress it?
please complete your guide.
thanks.
You can't create/repack a "system.sin" since it is proprietary file/format .
ftf file is just a zip file ...with .ftf extension instead .zip
( like .cbz for comics/Creader )
Thats why update.zip is used .

Please anyone????
I'd try a different file to flash. Could be an issue. I need more info. Android version, for one. Is usb debugging enabled? Also why bother with stock ROM? Just get a custom ROM that's close to stock and flash it from recovery. It's much easier

HDR is your dynamic range if if not mistaken. I'd try a different download of the ftf still. I also did some Google searching and one thing that it could be us you don't have the correct PC drivers. Also you may have locked your bootloader when downgrading or trying to flash stock. Try a different ftf download, something could be corrupt. If that fails then its phone related and not firmware related. Its going to be a step by step process to isolate the problem.
Try EMMA instead.
