Help,please? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm expecting that My brother's V10 is gonna get bootloop
So I've been thinking to root the v10 and use quad core manager or kernal tuner apps to disable the two big cores of the phone as they are the reason for the bootloop issue (I know that because after disabling the big cores on my LG G4 using G4's big cores disable tool the phone returned back to life)
So is this method gonna work using the quad core manager or kernal tuner apps?
and is it easy to unroot by flashing the stock kdz file?

The screen retention issue and even if it isn't present....Most LG V10 devices are gonna bootloop at some point because of the defective snapdragon 808 so I'm gonna take precautions or sell it

Is it possible to underclock ICS with root?

For the people that maintained root through the update; are you able to use an app like setcpu or something to underclock the newly overclocked kernel?
Why would you want to underclock it?

to improve battery live, but really undervolting would be more useful.
for underclocking, the companion core works much better and is very effecient for standby/basic use senarios.
undervolt won't work until we can flash custom kernels, which need a custom recovery to flash them, which needs an unlocked bootloader.
i don't think apps like setcpu know how to deal with tegra3's 4+1 core setup right now, someone can correct me if i'm wrong
My guess is that the UV/UC battery gains are going to be quite small with the ninja core taking the majority of the strain. There should be some kernel source from nvidia which indicates what the transition is from the different states - maybe the best gain would come from locking out the G processors.
I saw some LP <->G switching info in dmesg with a pre-ICS version, but it seems not to be there any more...
Well the reason I asked was because I'm one of the people who gets nothing but boot loops after the ics update. After trying everything, I was wondering if this could be done, which would narrow the issue down to a kernel problem.

[Q] Why aint the SGS2 second core aint ONLINE??

Ok My SGS2 is a month old now.. Initially I had Galaxy ACE so was knowing ROOTING and custom ROMs stuff.. Now today morning got a doubt is the second core working(Probably disabled!) because it got heat in AC room! And so installed a System Tuner Pro app and got to know the second CPU was OFFLINE!!! I thought may be not much load so loaded around 6 apps and started 7th no lag but still second core OFFLINE... Can anyone clarify my doubt... Else my second CPU got screwed up

it gets activated only when required else it will be offline
if u have siyah kernel installed along with Extweaks u can check the same under CPU tab
under Hotplug mode u have the options
1)Cpu Hotplug (default) - thats the second core switchs on/off dynamically
2)second core always on- will turn on second core always
3)second core always off- will turn off second core always

Overheating phone almost burns my skin !!!

Hi guys, I need some help,
I have been using Xperia Z2 for the past 8 months and during this time the phone performed well but recent times its starting to give me a lot of problems; The screen had a problem and got it fixed and now I have a huge problem. The phone overheats like crazy when used more than say 10mins straight. It could be a call, messenger, video or camera, I know it has overheating issues with 4K but i never use the 4K feature to record movies. I'm on the latest firmware and lollipop update came via OTA, I can't tell if this is the exact reason but the phone gets so hot that it almost burns my skin !
I have reset the phone and wiped and re-installed everything and this had no effect. I have no warranty as I have paid fully for the phone and left the contract. I don't do gaming or anything processor intensive and yet the phone heats up really bad.
Any solutions apart from taking it to fix somewhere cause I live in Norway and I can buy a new phone for the price of someone looking at the problem cause its that expensive here
What if I have to install a clean stock rom? Any recommendations?
Thanks.
Sorry, I don't know

Unlock bootloader, flash custom kernel with the alternative to chooice an aggressive hotplug driver / battery friendly CPU governor and flash a custom ROM.
Solved!
Try downloading watchdog lite and see what is using most cpu.If you find nothing try flashing latest ftf using flashtool, root and debloat.4g/lte could also heat up the phone very fast.

Ok I found how to unlock the bootloader, Please suggest me a good kernal /ROM ?
Thank you
Had the heating issue on the Sony Stock Officail Lollipop ROM, now I'm on AICP with processor underclocked at 1.7GHz, giving great battery life and no heating issues even on high end games.

Check out some of the optimized / customized CM Roms with M5 kernel - rock solid combination.
Or just use the included kernel. Your choice of preference, u know!
Some what temp does your phone get to? Post a picture of when "it is nearly burning your skin".

Did your camera quality degrade? I'm rooted on LB and I'm underclocked to 1.2ghz, but still overheating.

Camera quality is way better in AOSP, just backup ur drm keys first, UL the BL, and thab try any AOSP or CM based rom.
Did you consider downgrading to kitkat?
I am using kitkat and the phone doesnt really overheat, without any underclocks or anything, unless I play something that is really demanding, such as asphalt 8

By saying the screen got fixed, does that mean the phone's internals were opened? If that is the case than we might have to look for a pysical reason more than a software one.
Besides, in many countries those devices have 1 year warranty, of which is decided and forced by goverments. Since it is your 8th month, you may still have warranty and take your phone to a service (they may blame summer thoguh).

Root and Lg g5 mods expectations?

Hello guys , i have an lg g5 for 2 weeks , it seems that auto brightness is bad and it only reach 900nit under the sun in summer and for only some secs and then never again , seems buged! I also take a high score on first 3d score on Antutu but on second one i get the lowest of all snap 820 phones thats why lg choose to throttle it right away , so i really wanted a kernel that allows you to extend gpu and cpu throttling temp(oc isnt needed cause will trigger more throttling) , manual brightness up to 900nit and for some more power for the headphones. I also need root for using some more advanced apps. Should i expect this things from Lg g5 ? I couldnt find even a root for it , only official bootloader unlock(no reason to unlock it if i cant root it?). :crying:

If you have an european H850 you can unlock, root and install some custom rom.
At the moment there are no custom kernel, but the brightness bug was solved in Last firmware

Any bootloop free device?

If not is there is there a batch that increase my chances? Most importantly in case of bootloop is there a new way to fix it? Plz I want to buy the v10 but I'm afraid of it known bootloop issues
BUMP. Would like to know this as well. Really like the design of the phone, could be a great backup for me.
Well there is a fix for the 808 for the g4.bootloops can be fixed if some dev creates a modified boot img that use only the 4 small cores of the soc and disables the 2 big cores.
