has anyone been able to play full hd 1080p videos on this devices, a could only get an aswome resolution but on 720p
I don't think they can handle 1080P videos, have tried some but the video playing was slow and laggy.
Hi guys,
Just wondering if there's an app or video player that scales up 30fps videos to 60fps playback? I've seen that this is available in mediatek powered phones.
Is it also possible in exynos? Or is the 60fps video playback/upscaling limited only yo mediatek hardware? Thanks.
Hi all, I've a Snapdragon 801 and I'm looking for an optimized player to see Full HD H265 videos. I tried with a 1920x1080 8 bit 4,7Mbps video but:
1) With VLC it pretend to play smooth, but it lose the colours.. I tried all combinations, enabled HW acceleration, chosed the mediacodec (seems better between choices), it helps only a bit.
2) Tried MX player with dedicated codecs. Enabled HW acceleration as well, It lags.
3) MM video player lags (the video works about 5 fps) but it looks the best way to watch movie.
Any chance? maybe trying other settings, or a player with optimized ARM decoding.
Anyone would share a comment here?
Thank you for your opinion!
anyone interested?
I've read that our snapdragon chipset should support hardware acceleration for hevc but I am not able to play in a decent way x265 4k samples.
After several test with Mx player, Kodi, VLC and an alpha version of MPV, I realized that none of them is able to play the file with using HW acceleration.
There is any way to play UDH video files with our device?
Many thanks,
Alessio
PS:I am on Arrow Pie rom and Franco kernel performance profile

What's the point in playing 4K videos on a 1080p screen?

My idea is to use the phone to play x265 4k video in my 4k television though hdmi cable but it is out of topic.
The question is how to play them since our SoC should support HW accelerated hevc reproduction.
4k is a job for 8xx sd . Our device can't handle that heat. 720p 8bit hevc is the limit here

Seems like it really doesn't work.
I've got a $25 Android TV box at home that can play 2160p 10bit x265 movies without a problems. Maybe you should spend a few bucks to make your TV smart
Ok, many thanks for your answer!
Hi all, does anyone have any ideas why I'm getting these colour artifacts when playing back 10 bit 4k video on my laptop ? It plays fine on the phone but not on laptop. Also it's not due to having a kite version of resolve as the only player that plays it properly is Kodi (struggles a bit).
It's a Shane because I can't edit and grade the footage in resolve. 8 bit works flawlessly.
Many thanks
