You do not have to apologize ... but you have to be careful because xiaomi.eu is not the same as the Chinese version and someone can run out of mobile when installing one over another
And to my knowledge, the global version has not yet come out ... xiaomi.eu are multi-language but they are not the global version
regards
saludos

Hi, I'm trying to fix a phone, PCD 508 that apparently came with a virus from Factory. I think so because I've made a Factory reset, both from settings and from boot menu, wiped cache, user data, no use, it's still there.
Symtoms are that web pages pop up, at any time, of rubish random sites.
I found a Mediatek MTK droid tool but didn't work, as it only Works with Android up to 4xx, according to information posted in this forum, and this phone runs 7.
I hope anyone can help me, as the phone is a good budget one but it's impossible to use with this popups.
I've also tried this https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/ wich was great and I could "remove" stock browser and download a Chrome from Google Play. But the problem persisted.
Phone specs:
PCD 508
chipset Mediatek MT6735P
Android 7
I found that ZTE Blade V6 plus uses the same chipset, Can that be a source of resources for this?
Thanks for your help.
UPDATE 4/6/19
I've found the source of the problem: https://blog.malwarebytes.com/cyber...y-upping-the-ante-on-adups-fwupgradeprovider/
You are just the best kind of people on the internet and real life: that people who post the answer to their own question.
THANK YOU!
Spyware is still there tho
I've done the removal instructions from the Malwarebytes site, but the virus keeps reappearing after a few weeks.
EDIT: I found the definitive solution. RonAshman posted it for me, because my english is bad.
I fixed it! @ndu926 gave me the instructions:
- First download the original firmware (spyware included). You just need the boot.img file.
- Then download Magisk from the store and install it. You can also download the apk and install.
- Then patch boot.img using Magisk.
- Flash the patched boot.img using the SP tool for MTK devices. (Only for Windows)
- Install Root Explorer and delete from \system the adups apks and also geocodeservice.apk which corresponds to the "Helper" app.
- If you can't locate them, download jumobile from the store (or the apk) and use it to find the exact location.
- Perform a factory reset.
Done.
Piece of advice: Never buy a cheap a** phone like this one again.

Hola!

Just upgraded from a T-Mobile V40 phone to a new T-Mobile V60 phone. My old V40 had a really nice font named "HYLavender" that was downloaded from LG SmartWorld site. It is no longer available to be downloaded to my new V60. LG SmartWorld told me they can't support my request even under paid.
Some research showed that Fonts for LG are downloaded as a hidden APK from SmartWorld and installed on your phone. You cannot use 3rd party fonts like TT or via an app like iFonts.
I found a way to export installed fonts from my V40 to the new V60. Use a File Manager App that can "backup" an installed App into a APK. I used my favorite File Manger+ App but there are others.
Search the installed Apps on your phone with the File Manager. I easily found my desired Font and created a backup APK file. Transferred this APK file into my ne V60 and installed it. Got back my favorite Font on my new V60 phone.
Might be useful information for someone.

saludos yo he buscado esa fuente y no la he podido encontrar sera posible q me pasese la apk que creaste por favor de antemano gracias
I am also interested in how to transfer fonts and old SmartWorld content.
As OP mentioned, you can extract the apk off your device but make sure you don't share them publicly. For fonts, it's probably better just to use this tool:
There's also a Telegram group which has a lot of pre-made fonts uploaded that were created using that tool:
It's probably going to be very hard to find paid Smartworld themes (which have apparently been removed in a few regions) but I think at least one dev has uploaded their work on the Play Store.

I installed some fonts, but they doesn't appear in the font menu
Just got this v60 and it's unrooted.
Edit: Nevermind, it was just the font I created. Downloaded fonts work correctly.
I think I will never get Nokia Pure Text back in a V series.
I flashed the latest version of xiaomi.eu for RN10, I think I have read something about backups and conflicts but I'm not sure and I can't find any information, I would like to know if there is a problem because I restored the backup I had when starting the custom rom, and I have experienced some glitches that I think shouldn't be on xiaomi.eu like these:
* Notifications are delayed showing old notifications
* Sound notifications sometimes do not sound
* Volume control with headphones plugged in sometimes gets out of control
* The error that bothers me the most is that when you turn off the phone, and turn on the next day from time to time there is a temporary loss of data, the wallpaper is erased and it turns black, permissions of some apps are erased and I have to grant them again, whatsapp warns that the storage is full but I have 70gb free, and also if I enter an app the phone stays loading a screen and I have to restart it.
I would also like to ask, after having installed the rom, did I have to wipe dalvik and cache? Could you do it even without problem to try to solve the problems?
Backup and restore is primarily concerned with the ROM being on the same base.
So that may not be OK ROM AOSP / Lineage, or custom ROM / original ROM.
Backup from one version of Android to another (higher, lower) is not suitable at all.
In these cases, only Google-style backups are usable for content.
With these changes you have to set the rest of the settings anew.

Simple Answer: Just don't do it !
It can be done but don't report then for any applications crashing or stability issues

Go back to the previous version. Then update only over the air (OTA).
12.0.10.0 and 12.0.11.0 are both Global versions.

Ok, to do this, what thoughts should I have? just flash the rom back to twrp to that version? would lose data? this time without backing up
In the introduction you wrote about using a custom ROM and the problems you experienced.
But next time you wrote about just upgrading from one version of Miui to a higher one.
Such an update does not need to be done manually, there is an OTA option in the settings.
So it's not clear exactly what you did and why you did it.
By taking the wrong steps, you may have already lost your data and the path to saving it may be futile.
You will probably need to start with the factory settings.
Hello, I have a little x3gt and since I bought it I can't connect to a 5ghz Wi-Fi network (They don't appear to me). My Wi-Fi is capable of doing it, I have other cell phones at home that can connect, but for some reason the Wi-Fi assistant does not work. I also noticed that wifi is much slower on this device. The device came with miui 12 and Android 11 and I didn't get any 5ghz network either, I updated it to miui 13.0.4 and Android 12 and it doesn't work either.
I saw in videos that changing the region of the device might work, I tried it and it didn't work either. Somebody could help me?
"Make sure your wifi ID is set to visible"
When this phone is out of box (or after flashing new rom), during the setup, immediately, you will be asked to connect wifi, at this stage, all available wifi will shown up 5G and 2.4 G. for you to select. (regardless it is An11, An12, miui 12.5 or miui 13 etc)
If no 5 G to choose, then I would say it might be hardware problem.
kirinin said:

So what I have to do is flash the rom? Or how do I make it ask me to connect to wifi again? Sorry for the ignorance.

Sorry, my question is: What exactly do I have to do? Do I have to factory reset my device? I was told that I have to be asked to connect to a Wi-Fi network but I don't know how to get them to ask me for such a network.

Yes, just do a factory reset. your phone will be like a brand new out of box set.
(back up all your data first, all data will be erased)
Switch power on, follow the screen, set country, language region... after few more step your wifi connect will be shown up and let you to select. at this stage, you will see all available wifi connections (all 2.4G and 5G wifi).
