I checked the us sprint variant of lg stylus 2 and I saw it recieved android 7.0 on 18 December. Any news on the k520dy variant of the LG Stylus 2?

Based on your model number, it looks like you might've bought yours factory unlocked? If in correct you should've already received the OTA, if you bought if from another carrier besides sprint I would contact the carrier on pushing out the OTA update to you,

Huh, weird. That never happened to me. I just updated my phone using LG Bridge on PC since I wasn't getting any updates without it. There was this moment when it started doing the update again by itself after finishing. I closed the LG Bridge tool on my PC and let my phone boot normally.

Because in India the carriers don't provide the update unlike most of the countries
So any other way to update the phone ?

i don't think so. but there is fastboot mode on the device so flashing might be possible. I don't know how to get into it and try searching for ways to flash firmware on k520dy or lg stylus 2. any other countries' firmware might work on your indian variant.

Very sorry for not replying in many months. I forgot I even had this post. Yes, I am very much satisfied with the performance in Android 7.0. It's much better than Android 6.0. Sadly, I discovered that this phone doesn't have a recovery and flashing firmware on it is near impossible. Maybe a thourough Google search could find the answer to your problem. You could try the LG Bridge program on your computer to find and install the update.

Even I didn't get any notification for update at first. Since updating the phone manually is not an option (it doesn't have recovery), the only thing you can try is downloading the LG Bridge App from LG's website for Windows, plug in your phone into your windows computer and choose the software update option on the LG Bridge program. Then keep your phone plugged in and let it update if an update is found by the Windows LG Bridge app.
thanks for replay @SirGarmaples
I mean "manually" refer to Flash phone with official .KDZ file...
my Internet connection was very very very slow (40-60 Kbps) cant use LG Bridge... Unless I get KDZ file to software (LG Bridge) in some way
is this doable (import .KDZ file manually to LG Bridge)? any one of XDA-Developer users worked on it?
sorry for my bad english...

Even for .kdz file, you'll need to download that too. I don't see the benefit of not using LG Bridge tool for updating. Both ways, you'll need to download the file so there's no point. I do not know of any way of flashing .kdz file onto this phone. There's literally no support for our phone on XDA. You can update your phone using other faster wifi or connection or leave the computer to do the thing overnight. Look at this thread, this can help you. https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295 I'm not responsible for any damage or loss to your phone. Please don't do anything to your phone if you don't know what it is or how to do it.

Hi Guys, I just received my new LG G5 H860, I have been receiving security patches from LG via OTA just fine, but I just found out android 7.0 is been rolling out early november and I still hasn't receved mine
My software version is V10i-TWN-XX and the phone seems to be from Taiwan
Does this mean it is factory unlocked?
Also are the updates region restricted somehow? Will I get the update eventually or I'll have to update manually?
This is what I'm getting from my IMEI
Network Code: TWN
Carrier: TAIWAN
Thanks.
just try use lg bridge to update...

Hi there ive searched through the forum and cant see anything related to my problem.
Im using LG bridge its recognised my phone shown theres an update but i constantly get theres an error downloading it ans iinstalling.
Ive tried the phone on 3 different machines with the same result. I havent rooted my phone, so the OS is as it comes.
Please can someone advise me what is wrong?
LG is wrong, that company is crazy. You have to install latest appropriate KDZ firmware (6.0) for your region (using LGUP or something like that) and then the bridge will find nougat upgrade and will sucessfully install it into your G5.
Same Problem

Yes you need a computer. First you should install LG Bridge (official pc software of LG) and follow instructions, it should updated to Android 7. However, if you dont get update via this, then download your model's KDz file from below (700K, L or S).

Make sure you download stock KDZ according to your variant and follow the steps to flash kdz. Also need to ensure that you do it on laptop instead of pc, to avoid pc shutdown due to any reason in between while flashing.

Yeah, I posted that. It was an OTA file. I'm not sure how you could use it in LGUP, but if I had to guess, it would be through the upgrade/update option. I would assume one would also have to already be on 11d.

Yeah, until LG updates their servers with the 21a version, it won't show on website no matter what IMEI from an RS988. Either have to wait for LG to update website or someone to post correct kdz file to use.

I think the only way to get the kdz would be if you were on the 11d and upgraded through the lg computer software

I tried tonight, and the LG UP program can't read .bin files. I even tried to rename it as a .zip just to see what would happen, and still can't read it.
So a week later and LG hasn't posted the 21a link yet on their check esn page. I wonder how long this will take. If the KDZ isn't up in a couple weeks, I guess I'll have to contact LG and see about sending my phone in. Maybe they have a way to get it back to 11c or 11d so that the 21a will download and install.
Hi, newbie here so please bear with me. I have bought a LGV30 plus (H930DS) via ebay. I know its not available here in the UK and isn't supported via local warranties etc. My 2 questions are:
1) Why isn't there a S/N - serial number, displayed in the about phone section of the phone ? its just blank! although both IMEI numbers are available.
2) I still haven't got Oreo, is this because its a HK version of the phone and it wont be pushed out to the UK (OTA) ? I've tried the LG Bridge app and it fails on several reasons (cant see phone etc)
Thanks in advance

Hi, newbie here so please bear with me. I have bought a LGV30 plus (H930DS) via ebay. I know its not available here in the UK and isn't supported via local warranties etc. My 2 questions are:
1) Why isn't there a S/N - serial number, displayed in the about phone section of the phone ? its just blank! although both IMEI numbers are available.
2) I still haven't got Oreo, is this because its a HK version of the phone and it wont be pushed out to the UK (OTA) ? I've tried the LG Bridge app and it fails on several reasons (cant see phone etc)

Use LGUP to update to Oreo. HK Oreo and other H930 Oreo are available.

No, you didn't. You used LG Bridge.
LGUP won't give you any such message.
I said to use LGUP -- to manually update it with KDZ available here in the forum.
I'm telling you how to fix your problem.
Here's the HK Oreo KDZ:

Use LGUP, attached to this thread below. You can also use the H930DS OREO KDZ in that thread if you want or the HK Oreo KDZ above.
[H930DS][STOCK][OREO]LG V30+ CIS H930DS H930DS20d_00_OPEN_CIS_DS_OP_0526.kdz

You would use "upgrade" in LGUP.

No, doesn't matter. All H930DS have the same bands.
You could even flash the European H930 Oreo KDZ, and it would still work. It would keep your same H930DS modem bands, dual SIM functionality, but you would have Oreo.
Many have done it.

No, I do not know. It should be on your retail box, however.
---------- Post added at 07:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 AM ----------
NOTE: If you use "upgrade", all your data stays, all apps stay, all pictures stay.
But if you use "refurbish" it does wipe the phone.
You probably want upgrade.

Go into download mode BEFORE opening the patched LGUP.
If a desktop, best to use a port on the back of the computer (one attached directly to the motherboard).
Try different cable.
Try different computer.
Make sure LGUP is installed in the right folder (LG Electronics).
Still no joy, never mind I'll wait for the ota. Thanks for your help though :good:
I'm not rooted btw, does that matter?

No, this actually would be the first step to get root of you wanted that. You need to be on Oreo with fastboot flash commands.
For the SN part, I had same experience on my previous Galaxy S7, which was from eBay.
Mine was seller refurb, I forgot the seller name but it was Q something.
The SN was 00000000 for that phone.
I used it without any problem, but feels not great.
Yours might be the same thing, they did something on your phone.
