hello everyone out there
i have those 3 problems named above!
i have them no matter what build i use (froyo x or frx04)
with tmo sim everything is fine! eplus even if entered manually isnt showing up apn!
and id3tag:
in music player i can hear all the songs (with some lags when switching between lots of songs and sometimes while playing)
but 1200 out of my 1600 songs are listed without artist(!)
any way to solve this?
using cubed doesnt change a thing =(
and now usb:
i can attach it to my notebook and usb debuging is activating. android is asking if i want to copy files from computer but when i press the filetransfair button (i suppose its like "mount or charge" under donut!) nothing happens it just does nothing.
everything else is running gr8 as i dont use the cameras
-> its much faster and fluider than windows mobile on this phone! (i use only titanium from latest energy rom but hey it laggs!
sense is too heavy for me i hate such interfaces so i'm staying with froyo hoping for an nand release (=

This problem is discussed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922868
It seems to be eplus specific. For me the data connection only works on first boot...
i had this on my kaiser tooo and somehow another froyo build solved the issue so there must be a workaround!
I APPLIED STARTUPCLEANER 2.0
AND disabled everything expect google framework (on bootup)
and what happened?
EPLUS 3 APNS working 3g
realy
is this meaning, google mediascanner (i disabled before it started working), i preventing eplus apns?
anyone with epus please try this out!
Yeah the idv3 tag is the most annoying for me 90% of new music now is idv3 and pretty much my whole collection of lik 150 songs is all idv3. But I doubt we'll get someone fix it as I suppose atm people find camera functionality and such higher priority issues.
Yup have the same issue with my music, only a select number of songs show the artist, and I'm not exactly sure why. As I manually edited all my artist names and such the same way (right click/properties in windows explorer on my PC) and some show up while others dont.

There's two versions of ID3 tags. Have you guys all made sure that you're propagating both versions?
Tags
Use mp3tag and convert all tags to ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1, because UTF tags not supported here.
Lost titles and tracks skipping solved.

There's v1 and v2 tags... This is more of an mp3-related topic/issue rather than an Android issue.
Oh I understand there are different version of the tags but what do you mean by propagate both versions?

Can you see the system dialer ? If not try unhiding it. Get an app of the market for hiding apps, then unhide the dialer.

That's them, but they are hidden from the app drawer. You need to Un-Hide them. I can't find the app at the moment.

I haven't completely tried it. I did unhide the apps by mistake when I was trying to hide apps from the app drawer before. I tried to find the app last night that i used to do this but with no luck. Even copying the apps from the system folder to data/apps folder then installing them doesn't work. They are removed from the folder on reboot.
Sorry I can't be more help.
I know the apps for the dialler etc. are present, it has been commented on before why they weren't removed for even a non 3g tablet before.

Hello, Does anyone know how to manage the apps in multiwindow. I would like to get rid of some of the stock apps in there with some apps that Ive dwnladed from the play store. I am rooted, and running a custom recovery with ZV6 rom.
Thanks
Also, have another quick question that doesn't really pertain to multiwindow but I hate to start a new thread for just one question. Is our G3 capable of using the new wifi frequency? I believe its the 802.11ac I googled this but have not been able to find the answer.
Also, I checked enable voice recorder in I believe in G3 tweaksbox but when I make a voice recording and try to play it back, it keeps saying unsupported file type. What do I use to listen to my recording?

For you wifi and voice recording question, I dont know about that. But as far as multiwindow apps, I you want it to show ALL of your apps instead of just the stock ones...you have to go to build.prop and its a line that says "persist.splitwindow.support_all" and change it from false to true. That way you'll get all of your apps to show, I dont know about it NOT showing certain ones, but at least that way you'll get more than just your stock apps in split window.

You don't need to use the Flex multiwindow. We have it on our phone. I've already made the mod on both Barren and BarRin.
I made a flashable build.prop for ZV6 It has multiwindow and some other tweaks. If you want to use it it's here. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001614835

Anyone have any suggestions??
Hello guys.
My main question is: what kind of system app decide which dialer will show the incoming calls?
I will shortly explain the situation. I have a smartwatch (zeblaze blitz with Android 5.1, no Android Wear, rooted) that has a bug in stock dialer, so I need to replace it.
I installed some dialers from play store, but they were using stock dialer for calls, so nothing.
I used root to install Google Dialer (put it in priv-app folder). It's working fine, except one thing.
When I get incoming calls, stock dialer shows up. If I answer, I hear nothing. I need to open Google dialer manually to talk.
If I uninstall or freeze stock dialer, on incoming calls, it rings but nothing appears at all. I need to open Google dialer manually to answer.
It seems some "setting" decide that incoming calls need to be shown by the default dialer, even if another one is set up to be used to talk.
Does anyone has an idea how to change this setting eventually?
Have you tried the resetting the default association in settings apps stock dialer?
Edit minor text fixes.

Stock dialer doesn't have any association. Also, I think the associations would be automatically deleted when I uninstall it.
So unfortunately I think it's not about the stock dialer. I think there is some other app or setting that redirects to the dialer.
I have some additional information to share, if someone has the patience to try to help
The following are apps that i found that I think could be involved in this issue (app name, package name and size)
In /system/priv-app
TelephonyProvider.apk com.android.providers.telephony 1,6MB
TeleService.apk com.android.phone 2,1MB
Telecom.apk com.android.server.telecom 1,1MB
In /system/app
AutoDialer.apk com.example 44KB
BSPTelephonyDevTool.apk com.mtk.telephony 88KB
The stock dialer that I'm trying to replace is
Dialer.apk com.android.dialer 5,1MB
Does anyone have an idea?
Your issue is that many of the drivers for the device and radio are programmed to that dialer apk. It's the same all over android. You would have to build a rom from source to change it.

Probably, but I have no idea how to do it.
For now, I would like to find apks from other MTK6580 device to make some tests. Maybe I'll have some luck with no need to build an entire rom.
Any idea where could I find stock Dialer.apk and TeleService.apk of any MTK6580 lollipop device? Is there an appropriate section on this forum for this?

Your chip is not gonna matter. As it will need the main frameworks from the rom that dialer and other apks came from. Then you will also need the radio files that work with that dialer. There is no real way to cheat getting around this. It only makes it harder due to the chip itself. Mtk are lousy at providing any info which means most kernels for those devices don't have the source posted.

For sure you are right, but I was now thinking just to replace the stock dialer with another stock dialer from another similar device.
I have some stupid bug (when I call or answer on call, I cannot hear anything, then I need to exit the dialer app and restart to hear the call), and what it really matters is to get rid of it. I'm not really interested in Google Dialer or any other.
So, maybe, if I can find another dialer with the same package name, as all stock dialer should have (com.android.dialer.apk), I could maybe solve without requiring programming skills that I don't have.

You are confused on your issue. From what you just said I would honestly say the issue is not your dialer app. It's your radio/modem (do phones even still use modems lol) this is what really controls calls. Sounds like it's crashing and not restarting. If you can get root a logcat would pinpoint it.
You could try a clean flash of the latest software.

I really am, no doubt.
The fact is that when I answer, although I can't hear anything, they can hear me on the other side. It looks like some "service" of the dialer just stays on background, without crashing, and I need to recall it by opening the dialer app.
Also, the really strange thing is that, if I am using a bluetooth headset, I can hear perfectly and I have no problem at all.
For this reason I was not thinking of some issue about those kind od service you say... Phone line is working!
I have root, how can I take a useful logcat?
Thank you very much for help
Google Play store says it's not compatible; I've tried various APKs and when I go to install they also say incompatible.
That sucks. What might be the cause? I know the S8 can install it.

As per the notes on the thread, this older version is the only one that fully works on Non-Nexus devices. The newer patched versions may install but are often buggy and lack the necessary framework for spam call rejection and other features.
oh wow...i didn't realize the dialer required framework and such to use those features. kind of second guessing my ordering of the V30 now...

Does your dialer have the voicemail tab? I'm on T-Mobile and have to use T-Mobile's Visual Voicemail app on my unlocked phone. I couldn't get the voicemail tab to show up and there was nothing in the settings that could activate it. I tried a SIM card pulling trick I saw on Reddit but that didn't do it either. Thanks!

You have to ensure that the Google Phone app is actually properly set as your default Dialer/Phone app. I had a similar problem until I did that. Under settings, go to apps and then click on "Configure apps" under the three dot overflow menu on the top right. Make sure the correct app is listed under "Phone app".
