Hey everyone,
i encounter this problem since a few months and now i would like to ask you.
Before the RN3P i had a ZUK Z1 with only Internal storage, deleting photos with google photos and sony album app worked flawlessly.
now with the RN3P i have a 64gb micro sd where i store my pictures. both apps cant delete the pictures on my micro sd. google photos brings a pop up that i should delete photos with stock gallery app, sony album delets the pic in its app, but the file remains on the micro sd.
is there any workaround?
im using RR 5.7.4 rooted .... i cant imagine that those apps arent able to delete pictures on my micro sd. its 2017...
no one? nobody using third party gallery app?

I just transfered from the Vibrant to the Amaze (love it so far) but for some reason, the gallery app is not picking up my Vibrant files.
I had a bunch of different folders on there, like my camera photos, dowloads, videos.
All of the photos and videos I took with my Nexus One show up just fine, but none of the ones from the Vibrant. Am I missing something here? Also, the HTC music app pulls all my MP3s from the SD card, but Google Music does not. Maybe I need to run the Rescan Media for that, but it didn't fix the gallery issue.
Just a thought: The Vibrant has internal storage that behaves like an external memory card. Is it possible your Nexus One stuff is on the MicroSD card, but the photos you took with the Vibrant are not, but instead were in internal storage?

Install a 3rd party app for viewing photos like quickpic, see if the pictures show up there.. maybe somehow your vibrant pictures ended up in a folder with a .nomedia file?(that would keep it from being scanned by stock software)
I haven't used google music in a while, but I thought you had to manually set the media locations to scan? I highly doubt that it has anything to do with coming from a vibrant.. I would definitely verify that you can find the files with file explorer and try to open them manually to make sure they aren't corrupt or missing.
I think 2ndHalfCor was right about the photos. The Vibrant in itself does act as an external device, which I am assuming is where the photos are stored
As far as Google Music goes, I don't see an option to select a source for my songs. It only shows the few that I bought with the service
Hi I have seen in reviews that the sd card is just for transfering data is this true? e.g. if I put some videos or other files I will have to transfer them to internal storage before opening them?
No sir.
U can play videos directly from ur sd card using third party apps.
sent via awesome aRc (rooted 2.3.4)

Thanks so is that the same for any app? e.g. read ebooks / comics or play mp3s all off the sd card?
The reviews got me worried there but if they just mean you cant install to sd then there is no problem as who is going to need more than 4gb for that.
You can store data on the external sd card and some apps will allow you to choose where it looks for data (vidoes, mp3s, etc.) but you can't install/access apps from the external sdcard. Hopefully ICS will address that issue, but Sony will probably hijack it once again.
The media (pictures, video, music) on my external sd card are not being picked up by the stock and google apps like google photos and music. I have pictures taken with my camera that just not being found by the google photos app, but they are there when i navigate with a file explorer.
any ideas?
Hi, all. I'm having a weird problem. I searched and found that on Lineage OS, some are having issues with saving photos and videos to their SD card. It was fixed after some update.
I'm on the September 21, 2017 update of LineageOS but my issue is different. While images save to the SD card using the stock camera app, videos will not. I checked both internal and external SD cards using ES explorer in the DCIM folder and the videos do not exists. The camera app will show that the video is being recorded but after hitting stop, the video isn't there. I switched to save media to internal SC card and the videos save to internal. Switch back to external SD card and no go.
Again, the photos will save perfectly on external, hence, my situation is unique (and it's not a permission issue since if it was neither images or videos would be saved and I also checked the permission and camera app has the permissions granted); whereas others are having a problem with both photos AND videos not saving.
On the stock, this was not a problem.
Any insight would be helpful.
Thank you.
I'm having the same issue with my HTC One M8, Lineage OS version 14.1-20170928-NIGHTLY. Very frustrating.
Yes sir, old wifey is frustrated with me. I installed Lineage OS on my wife's phone because she kept complaining stock was sluggish. After taking many videos, come to realize none saved.
Hey, I've came across this camera app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.footej.camera
It's cool: you can save pics and videos to SD and works really well. Some functions need a paid package, however (2€).

Try the free app media.Re.Scan: media scanner and force a scan of your external memory card or your entire phone internal media + card. Many other similar apps in Play Store. (attachment)
What is your OS (ROM)?
And please report back to say if it fixed your problem or not.

Edit: I just looked at your posting history & you ask questions about many different models. S2, S3, s4, Note 2, 3, 4, Xperia Z2, etc. All I can say is: good luck & Google is your friend.
