Hello. Do you use original charger and cable? Try with quick charge switch on and off to see there is difference. Change the cable and charger to try. What ROM do you run?

Type c is expensive no doubt about that, in fact I had to pay 15,99 € for mine, atleast it's quality one with golden plugs on both sides. Not like that default piece of **** cable, which died after 5 charges.

Doesnt specify which usb type that cable is in the listing. Just says 30inches long. So I would say that was USB 2.0 as well. Theyre usually blue tipped if they are usb 3 btw and theyre new so theyre not cheap.

[They have excellent ethernet cables, i very good quality, i have verified them with iperf and tcpbench]
I i thought it was weird it needs a USB 3.0 extension cable
but i looked in the charger and connector USB plugged and there is 1 extra pin in the middle

Did you preorder the dock yet?
I went the other way round... instead of getting a USB extension cable, I assembled a power cord extension cable
I had all the spare parts lying around, so it cost me exactly $0, and maybe 5 minutes of my time...
Has anyone confirmed the 3.0 extension cable works? I I just tried and tested transformer doesn't charge through it. What is worse though is that I breaks the normal charger. I had to unplug everything for 20 minutes to get it to charge again.

Yes, from visions. Amazon had my first order, but I cancelled after seeing visions price on the dock. I think everyone will be gerting the dock in at the same time, so I went on price instead of shipping speed.

I purchased a USB 3 Cable that has the correct amount of pins needed to be used as an extension cable (Male to Female) with the Asus charger, so with a 2 meter cable i can now sit on the sofa with it plugged into the charger to get full charge whilst using the transformer.
Saves having to put it down close to a power point to charge it with the silly short cable that it came with.

From this post HERE.
I'm sure it will charge fine, but pretty sure you won't be able to use it as a data cable to your pc. I've seen a lot of people confusing usb 2.0 with usb 3.0 cables. Be careful as they are very different.

It works great! As long as you still have a working usb cable.
I bought new charger and still won't charge normally. now the only thing to consider is the cable. but I can still use it to transfer data.
Which charger?
Which charger did you buy? I hope you are aware the TF requires a 12v charger not 5 like most devices.

Try another USB cable they often break. If that doesn't work you can always get a Touchstone and the WiFi file transfer app. That should allow you to keep using the tablet like normal.
The usual HP TouchPad battery drain issues:
-If your battery is heavily drained, then you may need to leave it charging for a full day.
-When the battery is fully drained it can take the TP a longtime to reach even the lowest battery level.
-The USB cable that comes with the HP TP is often defective and breaks easily. Try using another USB cable if possible.
-The USB cable does not transfer enough power to effectively charge the tablet. You must use the wall plug when charging the HP TouchPad.
-To be safe don't let your HP TouchPad run out of Batteries ever! Install one of these free apps!
-You can add an automatic shutdown Rule by doing the following.
-AutomateIt, Play Store Link- What to do: New Rule/Trigger Battery level(Below 20%)/Action/Shutdown//save. Or
-Llama, Play Store Link- Location Profiles:Event tab choose + (at the bottom of the screen) Addcondition (battery Level Below 20%) Actions (turn off phone)

So I was bending over to pull an electrical cord out of the socket behind my entertainment unit, and I used my touchpad (in a case) to support my weight, I didn't realise that I had it cable side down, well just as I grabbed the power cord the usb cable gave way and I thought I had broken my touchpad too.
Anyway, I tried a new cable and it worked fine, these tablets may not be pretty, but they sure are tough.
Hope you have some luck in getting it fixed.

but yeah. maybe i will buy the charger. i like android tablet. but saw the asus transformer t100 tablet with dock keyboard windows 8.1 tablet. 350€ 32gb. but more interested in the 380€ 64gb.
but yeah damn 380€ much but its good for studies and things full windows. but still im gonna want my android tablet.
so i think i will buy one day the charger. but euh, if my battery is empty does touchstone charge it from dead? other wise im ****ed...
Had some problem but solved
Hi reggiexp,
I had the same issue of touchpad not charging. But i used my Nokia lumia charger plugged into TP when it is dead throughout the night and found it 48% charged in the morning after i switched on. When i reconnected the tp when it was on it came to full charge in an hour. Try this.
Please ignore the warning that the USB cable is not genuine which comes when you connect different USB cable.
Hope it helps!
Thought I would post this just in case anyone else is looking for a solution here. Purchased this off Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ES5ZSW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Doesn't cause pop any warnings while charging. Still using the plug that was sent with the touchpad and it is working better than the other one. Feels a little more secure while plugged in.
I'm a big fan of the touchstone.
However I sort of have the opposite problem as both of my Touchstone chargers have quite working. Each at different times. My suspicion is they suffered the same faulty cable fate. Unfortunately I won't be purchasing another as they are to expensive to replace at this point.

Just a thought, but if you don't plan on using your Touchpad anymore, you could maybe consider donating it to a developer interested in toying with one? To broaden the support base of those still running this thing lol.
Or wait, so is the USB port dead or not? I thought an earlier post made it seem like it wasn't. Sorry if I misread lol.

I have gone through them monthly. I can't use them in the car because they become lose and do not charge anymore. It's really frustrating not finding a good cable where the connector to the phone does not become lose in a couple of weeks.
Any suggestions would be great appreciated

There's another thread around here about this. But, I have yet to find one better than this one PortaPow 3.3ft 20AWG Charge+Sync Micro USB Cable. It's one of a very few on Amazon that actually specs the conductor sizes. Also, it's one of the few sync (not charge only) cables with over-sized power conductors. You need a sync cable for turbo charging to work. It was actually a little scary tight when it was brand new. It's not braided, so if you are looking for aesthetics, this is probably not the one for you.

I'm happy with the braided 6.6ft Cambond reversible USB cable I bought on Amazon.
Anker cables are widely regarded as one of the best. Very well made, and use thick gauge wire. Check out the reviews on Amazon for what people are saying.
Monoprice best place to get your cables. Cost way less than others and last long time. Just look at this one for $3 http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030307&p_id=9762&seq=1&format=2
I've found that OEM Blackberry cables are the best of both worlds, the usb connector is not as loose as other generic cables and they are not as tight fit as the Anker cables, you can find them at Amazon.

I think they all get loose after a while. I bought a nice one at Target and after a month it went bad, I now have to jiggle it at the USB side for it to work, do they make anything like they used too????
Ok heres the deal... about three weeks ago I was sleeping and got up through a spark followed with a little bit of smoke out of the charging port (charging over night guy). The next day I noticed that I couldn't charge my phone anymore. It smelled like a week like rotten plastic.
So I thought I buy myself a wireless charging pad and it helped. But you can't carry a pad with you all the time. So I ordered a dock connector for self replacement. Today I replaced it but it still won't charge by cable. But now when I connect it via cable to the laptop it says "USB device not recognized... needs more power".
The thing is also, I have a 925F and on the original dock connector was printed " 925F" but on my replacement unit was printed "925K" or something like that. But I thought it wouldn't matter, that are just some electric pieces or not? Well on that replacement unit are also the microphone, home back menu buttons and they are working perfectly.
Soooo does anybody got an idea whats wrong with my phone

Take it to samsung. If you got it brand new its covered under warranty. Similar thing happened to mine. They replaced it and told me if charging overnight to disable fast charge and use regular cable charging.
