[Tutorial][ROOT] Hide navigation bar Huawei ShotX (aka Honor 7i ) - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This thread was posted by juanro49 for Honor 5X.
I copied his idea and implemented for Huawei ShotX (Honor 7i) And it worked like charm.
First of all we need to root ShotX / 7i using this Guide : Root Solution for Honor ShotX/7i
and if you can't get the bootloader code follow this Guide : [New] [Guide] Huawei Honor Bootloader Unlock Code
and then continue the previous guide to get root access on your ShotX/7i
After Getting Root and Installing any Explorer that could access root directory i would suggest ROOT EXPLORER.
Just go into the /system
Open & Edit build.prop
Add this line to the last of build.prop
ro.config.showNavigationBar=true

Click the new down faced arrow to hide the Navigation Bar and then just swipe from below to top to get the Navigation Bar again.
Tested and working on ATH-L01 Middle East version.
Thanks!

[Q] Help Theming Google Search Widget

Hi Guys,
I'm a designer and have put together a concept of a Google Search Widget that I wouldn't mind sitting on my home screen. I've integrated styles from other parts of the UI so that it'll fit more seamlessly into the user experience.
I've never developed for Android before but have done a lot of background reading and am aware of the various \res\drawable images I'll need to replace. My question is whether or not I'll be able to replace those images without rooting my device, using ASTRO for example?
Also, is it a simple case of replacing the \res\drawable images and it working or is there more to it?
I've got a locked bootloader and don't want to unlock it, so am waiting for ICS and a hopeful way to root with a locked bootloader then.
Screenshot of what it will look like:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I'll be re-designing the app that launches upon touch to look more like the Xperia UI menus
Cheers,
M
Bump for post edit (didn't want to duplicate/start a new topic)

This is not a new root method, just a collection of scripts and an interface for organizing them. Based on the posted screenshots, the only root methods it includes are zerg rush and Motofail, both of which are known not to work against firmware version 4.5.629.
The only known method for rooting 4.5.629 is detailed in this thread.
cannot download and try if the link doesn't work :/

[ROOT] Huawei mediapad 7 lite --alternative

this is alternative way to root the Huawei Mediapad 7 lite
credits vampirefo for his id command root check
my model was/is S7-931w which has wifi
1) use google playstore to install a terminal apk
2) download an apk to sdcard called Root Master (english Version).apk
http://www.nextwap.net/mobile/vE4C-rxxce/root_master__english_version_.html
3) allow your device to install unknown sources
4) install apk and open it
5) you will see 3 options, system info....root....and manager......choose the middle one
it will take some time with some animation
the first time it ran.....I checked inside the terminal to see if id command worked correctly.....it did not
6) reboot the phone and try again
If successful, in a terminal you are looking for the su command to change the prompt from $ to #
AND then run the id command and you must see only 2 responses...... user id and group id
---if you get a third response you have to redo it and reboot it
correct image is attached

Mi 8 Lite Custom Boot Logo (Modded)

Alright, Here we go again.The first thing you should know, this apps has modified by me aka Fatra Megantara (petrukgrinder) . The original apps by @dedraks. So, thank you for a great job bro and sorry I don't ask for permissions first. All credits goes to him. The second thing why I did this? the reason because @dedraks have a problem bout the project. Here's the statement from him :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So, before he continue the project I make a modified apps. The modified apps is only to bypass the "unlock code" so u don't need to worry about the unlock code or installation id.
How to :
1. Make a picture with resolution 1080 x 1920
2. Put it on your phone storage
3. Open Splasher Mod and Grant Access for root access.
4. Tap the "Camera" icon to pick your image.
5. Tap the "Flash" button on the bottom right corner.
6. Wait till the "spinner" dissappear and Reboot.
7. Enjoy!
Screenshot and more info go to @dedraks thread here.
Thanks great job!

Downgrade Nokia 1 TA-1066 from Android 10 Go to Android 8.1 Go

The Nokia 1 recently got the Android 10 update. The update got lot of bugs like SD card losing write permissions, launcher3 not having widgets and shortcuts on top of other bugs in Pie.
This has compelled me to look for going back to Android 8.1 Oero where it has best compatibility.
I have no experience in flashing images.
So far, I have found firmware files from here.
I want to know how to flash those files via adb/fastboot or any other process and whether it will work for Nokia 1 TA-1066 (if device variants matter for this purpose).
In one of the zip files(FIHSW_FRT-1550-0-00WW-B03_600WW_8.1.0_20190305.full.deflate.4fefafc6c6b7373b7961be504e49a9684f4e8730.zip) I downloaded, following are file files inside.

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
[UPDATE]: I used the SP Flash Tool to install firmware for my phone and it worked.
