I'm the owner of a Redmi 3s prime and I have a false Bluetooth connection that can't be removed. Even if I remove all of my connections, turn off BT or restart the device, this connection stays.
My device is rooted. Do you know of any way to manually edit the connections and remove this one?
I just noticed I should have posted this in the Redmi 3s forum. Oh well, they share the same OS so no biggie.

Hi,
I have many devices that connect via bluetooth to my Nexus 4 (4.4.2) and when I enable bluetooth i have to wait until it connects (and i disconnect) or fails to connect to the last connected device - which takes too much time.
Is there a way to disable auto-connect when enabling bluetooth? I would simply like to select a device after ive enabled it.
I searched here and elsewhere but could not find a soln.
Thanks in advance.

This issue is still ongoing.
My Phone is connecting to the HiFi when I turn on BT to receive a call with my headfset. It's really bothering. Bad Google nerds.
When you restart the phone and turn on BT, it is not auto connecting ... until you try to connect a device.
So I think the last conncetion attempt is stored somewhere temporaly and it is repeating on and on.
I can't believe that there is no fix for this bad issue available since years :-(
This sounds interesting about autoconnect.
But I am not a programmer :-(

Hello to the forums.
I encounter a weird (for me) problem with the wifi function on the
SM-J700F
Android 5.1.1
J700FXXU1AOJ2
(afaik: it's the latest, that got out)
Every now and then I check in wifi networks, who is logged in.
If I do it from the computer, with
Soft perfect Wifi Guard
or from another Android device, with
Fing
the result is always the same:
The J7 is disconnecting.
And during the time, the wifi guard or fing is looking for other devices, trying to reconnect. But can't
But as soon the tracing software has finished the job:
Connected again!
That is actually the reason, thinking of a new(ish?) android feature.
Or maybe Knox?
Phone was and is out of the box. No funny stuff loaded!
Can you guys confirm?
Or tell me, that I'm nuts?
Help is much appreciated
Thanks

Most likely wifi mess around this place
Hi, I apologyze for the weird topic.
I'm a guest here, and it looks like, that over 20 2.4G wifi router are working in this area (inSSIDer), over 10 with 2 channel/40Mhz configuration.
All Channels are in use.
But still the J7 is the only phone, which is disconnecting, in case fing is searching the wifi.
I asked some other androids, around, but there was no such behavior on them.
The J7 still has the newest firmware on it.
I'm sorry for disturbing.
See ya!
Guys if your wifi is disconnecting than turn of smart network switch in wifi settings
-Solved-
Thanks, I just found a "Turn the WiFi saving mode off" hint in the net.
The switch seems to be under *#0011#, not in the wifi settings.
The J7 now stays stabil connected, even in the (faulty?) wifi mess around my actual location.
And gets listed in a network-device search, too.
Again, thank you and sorry!

I have a problem with the Wifi on my MXIII-G-II TV Box that sounds similar to what others have described on other Android devices, but is slightly different. Here's what happens:
My TV Box connects to my router via WiFi and will run fine for a while (say for an hour or so, but it varies). Then at some point it will lose connection with the router and the device's WiFi turns off. No amount of turning the WiFi on brings the WiFi back to life. Inspecting the advanced settings menu of the WiFi, reveals that the WiFi has a valid MAC ID, but if you reboot the device the MAC ID is changed to 02:00:00:00:00:00. Unplug the power from the TV box for a while and then start it up once more, the WiFi will work again, but only for some time, before failing again.
I always used the Ethernet port of the device, up until recently, when I wanted to use the WiFi, so I have no idea if this is a software issue, or if the hardware has always been faulty, but I never knew it.
I've read on forums for other devices with the same WiFi MAC ID 02:00:00:00:00:00, that a specific file (WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin) should be placed in the root/persist folder. Using a root browser reveals that my device has no persist folder in the root. If I create the persist folder manually and place this file there, then sometimes the MAC ID is restored, and the WiFi may or may not work for a little while again, before failing once more. Also after rebooting the device, the persist folder is gone again
I've also read that the wifi and bluetooth of this device run from the same chip - my device's bluetooth works without any problems.
I opened the device and had a look at the board - with the naked eye I couldn't see any obvious problem, but who knows, there could be a loose solder joint on the WiFi chip.
I have also restored Update_MXIII GII rv109 stock ROM to the device via SD card method, in the hope that this might fix whatever firmware issues there might be, but still no difference.
Can anyone confirm that this device should have a persist folder in the root, with certain files pertaining to the WiFi?
If so I find it strange that my device's WiFi works at all. How would I go about permanently restoring the persist folder in the root?
Any other views or advice? Do you reckon it might be faulty hardware, or a firmware issue?
Hi,
I'm using Floater when I need to fake my location on my phone, however I just tried it on my tablet (no gps, only wifi) and it's not working. When I start Maps it gets my fake location and after a couple of seconds it goes back to my original one. I set it to spoof my wifi location, but nope. I tried other apps as well and still no good.
I have a Mipad 2 (Miui 8).
Any help would be appreciated.
Dear community,
please assist on how to enable the WIFI tethering option in the HOTSPOT section of my redmi NOTE9PRO.
it seems, that the wifi tethering option is not available.
I want to amplify/extent the wifi signal I am getting from my router via my phone throughout my house. I could get a wifi repeater for 20dollars but I am sure I can do this with this device already without any 3 part apps like Sharenet ( which caps your data transmission without paying for it).
In some videos I find the wifi tethering option available in the note 8 for example.
I have the MIUI version 11.0.1. and the android patch version from 2020-4-1 and I have the developer mode enabled.
Thank you very much for the help!
regards,
Genco.

Hi,
I use my Redmi Note 9s(global)/9 Pro(India), code name curtana, with an older Huawei router HG556a running openWRT. I use the hotspot to connect the devices at the LAN ports (PC & Linux box for the TV) to the internet.
1. Go to Settings/Portable hotspot turn on the hotspot and 'click' on "Set up portable hotspot".
2. In that window at the top the SSID is listed and just below the password, which you need for the setup at your router.
3. For a openWRT router: open in a browser the router page, log in, click on Network/WiFi and click on scan.
4. A new page will open listing all available WiFi networks, go to the one with the name of the SSID of step 2. and click on the button "Join Network".
5. In the next screen you have to enter the password from above, name the interface and finish that setup page.
6. In the next page you have to choose in "Interface Configuration/General Setup" the network and check in addition to the wireless interface the LAN.
Then you have the internet in your LAN ?
I don't know how to do it with the stock routerFW. Further I don't know if the Redmi Note 9 Pro (global) [joyeuse] has the same menus as the [curtana].
