another bootloop - T-Mobile LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to fix my v10, it is bootlooping and I cannot get into recovery. I can get into fastboot, but thats about it, it just bootloops afterwards. I was running Elimantor's Rom and Kernal AND AM IN NO WAY BLAMING HIM. any advise into getting my phone running again? I'm stuck and need some help. I'm not very adept at fastboot/adb but can follow instructions.
thanks in advance.

Go to the LG support site and request a repair, I did this a couple of weeks ago after my phone started bootlooping.....was returned in 6 days with a new main board...runs fine

Went through and filled out the form but it seems I'll have to ship from Malaysia (I'm going to be there for a while). what I don't know is if it'll be sent back to me in Malaysia or to Maryland (my address)

As nothing worked for me & LG was being difficult, I have dumped the phone for now (will probably resurrect it when the MoBo is available).
I purchased a Huawei Mate 9 four days ago and I'm very glad i did.
Thanks once again.

Hi. If you don't mind sharing...
I went thru the LG site to get an RMA and they gave me a shipping label to print. BEFORE i go ahead and do that though...
right now the bootloop stops at showing "Bootloader STATE : Bootloader Unlock!!"
I cannot unroot and lock bootloader because it will not stay on long enough between bootloops.
Did you send it in like this (rooted, bootloader unlocked) and they replaced it? (Wow I hope this is true.) Or should I not bother sending this in rooted and bootloader unlocked? Any advice? Thanks in advance. Cheers.

[A] If you Brick your P500 - warranty -

I bricked my phone (completely dead, the screen was not turning on even by plug the phone charged) after rooting and installing the custom recovery and try to flash a rom ... Brought to assistance, they repaired it (they changed motherboard i think).
So, if you brick your phone but still it does turn on, try every possible method to unbrick it, but send it to warranty only if is completely dead!!
I don't think they'll repair it in warranty if they found a custom recovery...
A few people here have confirmed that it IS under warranty if it doesn't turn on. There are also a few advices there on how to get it back to stock, such as shaking it (lol XD) and disabling the LG modem driver. Did you have to pay for the repairs?

if you cant turn on your phone any any possible way that you've tried. there is a big possiblity that LG service center can't too so they wont be able to know if you have rooted your phone. hehe. the trick is when LG asks you why you brick your phone, Just Lie...
Hi guys, i just bricked my phone after i tried to install the new update V10_00H. I send it for a warranty and i told them that the phone turned off after i tried to update. After 1 week they called me that the warranty is rejected because of unauthorised update. Sorry if my englosh is bad, i'm from Bulgaria. Can you please tell me what to do. Here is an another warranty service and the guy who called me, told me that he will write me a new warranty to try at the other service. Please, tell me what should i do?
Edit: What should i tell them: that the phone is bricked because of an update or it just turned off and it won't turn on.

It doesn't matter what you tell them, they will probably check the phone anyway. Stick to the story that you tried to update to the last software version using LG PCSuite and the update failed, bricking your phone. This is definitely covered by warranty.
But before that, have you tried the advices found here?

Здрасти, Крис Предполагам телефонът ти е от Виваком ...You should threaten them with the Consumer Protection Commission (a.k.a Комисия за защита на потребителите. Stick to your story in your complaint to CPC and VivaCom.
By the way have you tried to reflash your phone with the KDZ Updater using the EMERGENCY, not the DIAG mode? That saved my live. Just remove your battery and plug the phone into the PC. The screen should become yellow displaying "Emergency mode". If it doesn't turn on whatever you do, it could be a hardware issue and you will not get away without taking the phone to a service.

Да телефонът ми е от Виваком. But i took it once to warranty service in Vivacom and they returned it whit the warranty rejected and unusable anymore. The guy wrote me another warranty but i think that the phone's serial number is entered in their system and no matter i take it they'll find out. But i'll have to try. I won't give up. When they returned the phone they showed me in the warranty that point 4.3 is: "The warranty is rejected when you try to manually open, repair and change the hardware or you install updates and you modify the software". That was their excuse. That's why I don't want to say that i updated it. At the other service (not Vivacom's) I'll say that the phone just went off and it doesn't want to turn on. Hopes this work.
Any updates on the matter? My phone is bricked too. Happened last night, it won't turn one now. Took it to the service center & they said that high chances are that I will get a replacement.
they're not actually replacing with a new one..they'll replace it with a refurbished one.

Two ways. One way root and replace them with the default ones from a stock rom.
Other way is to install a customer android rom.

Hi if you go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
it explains the exact procedure. just download odin and flash unbranded csc http://androidfirmwares.net/PhoneCSC3/Download/12
this will remove 3 boot logos and carrier branding
You are the 1st person who has anything 3 on their phone everyone else like me have no 3 branding and unlocked handsets ... is this with 3UK
Giving it some beans on my blue s3
Sorry to hear about your bad luck getting your phone stolen.
I purchased the SGS3 in white from 3 in the UK and my phone came with branding and the SIM lock. There are probably different batches of stock in the stores - some locked/branded and others without 3's customisations.
I will be getting my SGS3 from Three UK (when they finally get some blue ones).
How can I remove the simlock from the handset?

Check that out, if you're not rooted ignore the Everroot options. And if you don't have CLOCKWORKMOD installed ignore the recovery clear option. Basically ignore step 7 and 8 if you're not rooted or don't CLOCKWORKMOD installed. Any questions let me know

[Q] Help! My I9300 just brick on me

So I bought Galaxy S3 2 weeks ago. I was installing nova launcher for my phone but then it just went black on me. My phone is on stock but rooted. Now i cant boot up the device and I dont know what to do!PLz Help :crying:
The device is not booting up just by installing a third party app? or it actually boots up shows status bar but everything else is black? At worst case you can try factory reset your phone from recovery (you will lose all your data)
Yeah! It just went black when i installed Nova launcher.
Doesn't make any sense, that shouldn't happen.
Can you enter recovery by pressing vol up + home button + power button when phone is switched on?

I doubt it is the main board as you've been able to get into recovery and flash back to stock, it was probably more like a software glitch during you're original update, if they are saying it is broke and they will exchange it for a new one then you do it if you want for peace on mind.

They said that I have to pay for it if the mainboard was broken! Oh by the way, i cant boot into download mode or recovery mode. I said that i returned back to stock and then used it for a day and a half. Then my phone just turn black when i was installing nova launcher. And it bricked, i guess!!!! :crying:
Probably your phone is dead. Don't you have warranty? Normally they should replace anything.
Warranties depend on the country but in many countries, during the first 6-12 months, the seller has to actually prove you broke it or caused a malfunctionin order to be able to refuse warranty.
Noth that the key is SELLER, Samsung has no obligation to you only the company you got it from.
Even proving that rooting caused your malfunction (should they be able to determine it was rooted) is impossible since rooting does not cause hardware issues. Altough they might try to make you believe it
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
did you tell them it was rooted?
maybe that's why they are not honoring the warranty
No, I didnt tell that it was root. i just said that i updated the new firmware! but they said that i must have brick it when i flashed some custom rom. And now i have to pay for the mainboard!
Yeah if you told them you were rooted best thing you can do is go back there and say that it broke on it's own. Since they probably don't have a way of finding out if it was rooted they won't be able to refuse the warranty.
OH! And by the way, i told them that it broke when i was surfing the internet but they didnt believe me. they said it was my fault cause I updated the firmware somehow wrong! But i doubt it could be the problem because I was still able to use for one and a half day!

P7510 stuck in APX mode, flashing throws x04 error. Bricked beyond repair?

Hi, for the second time in a few months, my P7510 refuses to turn on. The first time, i had it sent to Samsung USA (from Europe, i bought it new via Ebay). After 2 months & paying tax duties again, it returned fixed. After a few months in which i used the Tab sparsely, it wont turn on again. I can only get it to connect in APX mode, but writing a recovery image through NVFlash throws a 0x4 error (bootloader locked).
Is this thing bricked beyond repair?
I have tried all the battery drain procedures and even cracked the thing open to disconnect the battery leads. All to no avail.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Did u fix it ? and how ?

Bricked device. HELP!

Hi everyone, I think I just bricked my device. I got my new e970 with 4.04 yesterday and today when trying to flash the new 4.1.2 using lgnpst tool, the process halted at 85% giving out an error stating that the firmware isn't supported. When I unplugged the phone and tried to boot, nothing happened. I am assuming that it's bricked.
Additional info:
When I hold the power button for 30 secs while connected via usb, the red led flashes for 2-3 secs and the PC makes a sound as if it had detected a new hardware (but nothing happens though )
On opening the device manager, I was able to see a "Qualcom HS-USB QDLoader" under the ports tab. And the "usual unknown" device offcourse.
The device wasn't rooted or bootloader unlocked
PS: I have tried to enter the download mode. But it didn't work either.
Help of any kind is welcome
I am sorry to tell you that is a hard brick. It needs to be jtagged, search for Mobiletechvideos.com

If you really just got it brand new, just take it back, tell them it was working then just completely stopped.
Next time let the firmware update over the air, personal recommendation
Then freegee yourself, and you may never have to see LGNPST ever. (I've never used it so, here's hoping)
Also, if the OTA update isn't showing up, call AT&T and tell them to push the update, they will.

Thanks for your reply guys. @adfurgerson That's correct. India it is. And I've checked the options available for JTAG ing the phone, but there are no reliable people here. @[r.]GimP lol, I don't think LG would be that trusting to believe that the bootloader self destructed by itself. But thanks anyways, that'll be my last resort if I can't get it to run.

One of the first threads where I went to search desperately for help
JTagging did the trick!
Hello everyone, I just thought of sharing my experience resurrecting my hard bricked ATT LG Optimus G. After various desperate attempts to recover the device without opening it, I was left with no choice but to send it for JTagging. Amid safety concerns, I sent the phone for repair at a local store in Chennai and amazingly, the phone got back in brand new, fully working condition!! The servicing cost just 1500 Rupees and took 6 hours. If anyone wants information about the store, you can PM me.
