Hello!
First of all, i have the Huawei IDEOS X5 running stock rom with android 2.2.1.
Let's go to the point.
Some days ago, something went wrong with my phone and it couldn't boot. (Details here)
As i was told, i took a backup with CWM (in order to recover later lost data) and i managed to restore an OLD backup and the phone seems to work like a charm. My major concern now is how to get some data that are stored in the data.img .
After some reading here at XDA, i successfully extracted the content of the data.img and located the files that i want to "restore".
And here is the question, is this possible?
If yes, what should i do?
FYI, at my PC i run windows 7.
Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Since you restored a rom, then the data was restored also.

Ok. All you need to do is choose the "Advanced Restore" option to independently choose the data.img to be restored.

i forgot to mention it, but this was the second thing that i tried. (the first was to clear the cache )
Neither of them worked, so, i assume that something is wrong with data.img .

as i said, i have succesfully extracted the content of data.img (detailed how to).
my problem is that i don't know how to send them back to my mobile!
finally i made it!
it wasn't that difficult, but i didn't know that with es file explorer you are able to see the root folder!
To sum up, if you want to restore some app data (app settings, sms archive etc) you first have to extract the data.img file (guide here), then you search in extracted folders the directory data/data/[your_app_name] for your app data.
Then you simply copy the whole folder to your sd and with es file explorer you move it to the correct place (/data/data/[your_app_name]). Overwrite if asked and restart the app if it's running.
easy huh?
thanks for all the replies folks!
Hello everbody ,
first of all thank you for your help. I know this question is a little bit annoying but i read a lot of threads and I still not know what software is the best one to recover/restore delete files on android internal memory. I made a big mistake and select a full wipe in the aroma installer instead of a factory reset before. Now everything is gone on my internal space. For sure I will not commit this mistake again. Only the TWRP backup und Titanium backup is available on my PC. Very important for me is to restore the pictures that I've been lost.
Maybe there is a friendly person who can help me to recover my files :good:
Device: LG G2
regards
Thread can be closed.
I've restored most of the files with Dr. Fone for Android and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGw1fxUD-uY
Thanks anyway
regards

Dear boomboomer thanx for reply.
My phone is galaxy s3 international version.
I rooted the phone and used super wipe mod to delete my files.
My question is : does super wipe delete the all the files including the hidden files in folder .thumpnail which is hidden in DCIM folder?
Because this folder contain the pictures that i delete from studio.
Lately my phone is stolen and i am afraid someone to find the folder and see my photos.
I want to know if super wipe already deleted the photos in this folder or not?
Best ask the mod creator, I usually format the system, data and pre load partition along with internal storage to wipe a phone.
Thank you very much boomboomer.
I do wipe data cache and partitons too.
I will do your advice and ask the mod creator

guys, i really do need any help i can get, this is very important.
I know this is an old thread, but I think that folder is created by something from Cheetah Mobile, like CM Security or Clean Master.
Every time I backup and restore I bootlop, it does not boot it keeps the MIUi logo all the time.
How would you back up and restore correctly?
I'm afraid to bootlop and have to reconfigure the Pocophone.
don't backup/restore sytem and vendor. instead backup/restore system img and vendor img ...
Hello oniemjan, I thank you very much for your time explaining how the system is backed up and restored, forgive me but it has not been too clear to me, I am Spanish and my English is a bit bad, so it would be done in the following way:
Backup: system image and vendor image.
System restore: system image and vendor image.

to avoid misunderstanding only this is important:
do not backup/restore system
do not backup/restore vendor
you can backup/restore everything else as seen in attached screenshot, modem is not backed up by default so no need to touch that
Hi Oniemjan, I have done the backup as in the screenshots you have provided, so if I'm not mistaken, the following would be done in the restoration:
restore vendor and restore system ..... if I am not mistaken.
By the way friend Oniemjan how do you catch the TRWP?
Thank you very much, sorry for so many questions and your time helps me a lot.

restore vendor and restore system ..... if I'm not wrong.
By the way friend Oniemjan how do you catch the TRWP?

sorry for my English

No worries, your English is fine. You can restore your whole backup. Dependent on the reason why you restore you can skip some items.
If by catching TWRP you mean taking a screenshot, then it's easily done by pressing power button and volume - button at the same time... The screenshot is stored in pictures/screenshot folder ... For some reason the color gets yellow instead of blue...
Hello friend Oniemjan, thank you very much for everything and your time
It has been a great help, it is a pride to have collaborators as big as you in the best forum in the world! ¡¡XDA¡¡¡
I do not want to tire you too much, then the restoration of the system to not bootlop understand that it would be:
-System image
-Vendor image
And to restore individually:
-Recovery[
-Data
-EFS
It is important to make sure, because I want to install new rooms and thus not to do more Bootlop and start again, it is a tremendous annoyance to have to install again Root, TRWP, applications, configurations, etc.

IMO you shouldn't backup anything except data. There is no point to restore system if it is unchanged.
Flash vendor zip, ROM zip, gapps and decryptor. After that restore data.

Hello Shished, the backup and restoration is only to backup the Pocophone if you have done something wrong modifying the system and not start the system for any error.
Note that if your device is encrypted, then restoring a backup with older android security patch level will break the encryption.
Hello pryggi, what do you mean by that, encryption refers to passwords on the phone, I do not understand.
I have Miui 10 V.10.2.3.0

Encryption does not mean passwords. Go to Settings>Security on your phone and scroll down and see the info there. It will say that it is encrypted or will offer to encrypt (which means that it is not encrypted). Please read and update yourself first before attempting flashing. Otherwise you are likely to brick your phone.
