Well, you're in luck since you have the Mediatek version. This official Redmi Note 4 subforum got some great ROMs for your phone. You can visit the forum from this link.
You have vendor rom (fake) search here for how to install official one http://en.miui.com/forum-109-1.html

Hello all,
i just receveid my redmi 3 pro (eu version with preinstalled play store) from amazon
i have 3 questions:
- is it normal that it's prerooted? i see supersu it's installed by default
- does this preroot have influence over OTAs ? i've never received any os update yet
- when will be available android 6 for redmi 3 pro?
Even I need to know when MM is coming to redmi note 3. Also when is the official release of MIUI 8.
Coming to your question, Yes it 's pretty normal for vendors to install EU rom and have the phone rooted in regions where the phone is not officially available.

I would say that pre rooting a device before it is even shipped is far from 'normal'.

As per my knowledge, the Xiaomi phones are not officially sold in all regions. And usually vendors who import the phones from China install custom roms on the phone. This is purely on my reading of various articles on the web.
Hi guys,
I have been a nexus 4 user planning to switch to mi note 3. I have been following the forums.
I have a few doubts
1. Is current miui 8 in mi note 3 based on Lollipop or marshmallow? I have seen the YouTube videos all indicates it as lollipop.
2. In forums miui 8 based on MM are mentioned many places. Does that update comes to stable version.?mainly indian variants.
3.if Anyone recently purchased mi note 3 from Amazon India. what type of FPC scanner does it have.goodfix or the other one?
Some one please help with the queries
Thanks

1. Current MIUI 8 Stable version is based on Android Lollipop 5.1.1.
2. Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 based MIUI 8 is in beta testing phase. Once bugs get resolved it will be released to all Redmi Note 3 users.
3. Probably FPC.
RMN3 mm rom was under beta testing in either cn or global dev rom. Once those bugs sorted out and will be have stable rom published.

I'm about to get a Redmi Note 3 Pro next year and I want to install a newer version of android 6.0 or 7.1.
I see many ROMs for Redmi Note 3 but I'm not sure if they would work for the Pro version and I don't want to flash the wrong ROM and brick my device.
hey, every roms for redmi note 3 "snapdragon" are for redmi note3 pro

Mokee marshmallow and CyanogenMod 13 are stable, I like slim rom. I have come full circle back to global dev mm.
Fortunately we got a separate thread between Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon version and the other Redmi Note 3 Mediatek version in XDA, so there will be easier for you to choose what ROM u wanna install on ur device and just make sure that u are in right thread.
We got a plenty custom ROM based on MM as well as Nougat and we all know that Nougat is still in alpha or beta stage so you may come across with particular bugs that came from the device cos we got some different versions like fingerprint sensor, camera, led etc, but in MM we have almost rock stable build, choose wisely.
And another thing that u wanna note that actually we have two version ot Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon, they are Kenzo (which ppl mainly use this device) and another one with codename Kate (special edition). What we look here, that Kenzo has many dev support whereas Kate doesn't and you may end up with bootloop if u flash Kenzo's ROM over Kate, but sometimes it will work sometimes ot doesn't. Also if we compare side by side between Kate and Kenzo, we look that Kate is bit taller than Kenzo, thanks to additional 4G bands.
That's all I think and I hope you are satisfied with ur decision like I did.
Last but not least, WELCOME. THANKS.

That's not how you name a thread. Please mention that it is a request. I thought you were providing stock recovery. This name is quite misleading. Avoid such misleading names.
Thank you
