Return to Stock from LP? - T-Mobile LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I forgot the exact steps on how I unlocked the BL and installed the rooted Siraltus build for the latest Lollipop ROM. But basically, now I want to sell my phone... Can someone please share or remind me the steps to go back to the stock ROM, unrooted LP ROM, and lock the Bootloader so the new buyer can OTA from it...?
Would appreciate any quick assist... Have a seller lined up waiting for a transaction...
Thank you guys in advance!

Not possible, there is no Lollipop KDZ. I would say, flash the Evil Yummy Gumdrop stock ROM, use SuperSU's full unroot option, and remove Xposed Framework (if installed) with the arm64 uninstaller zip linked in @rovo89's Xposed thread. To be fair to the buyer, at least let them know what you did and why, they may or may not be cool with it. A software-modded phone wouldnt be a dealbreaker for me.
Edit: Siraltus ROM may work fine too but I never cared much for it. EYG was my stable daily driver.
Since you're selling it, you could also just flash the latest official 20L (Marshmallow) KDZ. This would be the cleanest approach. Not sure if this will relock the bootloader, you may have to do this manually. No big deal. If your buyer explicitly only wants Lollipop then you will have to use the steps above.
And do not under any circumstances flash @tungkick's modded Lollipop KDZ. It soft-bricked my device, I had to pay $5 to trade my device for another v10 in-store. He's a cool guy, no bad feelings against him, but he provided a file that simply didnt work.

[Q] Update to Lollipop from 4.4.2 NC5

I'm just your average Android enthusiast, not nearly as talented and skilled as you devs, but I know my way around my phone. I am currently rocking the Galaxy S4 SCH-I545 NC5 (Rooted with Towelroot and Safestrap 3.72 installed). I never thought highly of Samsung's user interface and have wanted to upgrade to CM forever, but as each new update comes I really, really want it, so I carelessly take the OTA. I've done this far too many times so I decided to disable the system update app so I wouldn't be bothered by the new updates that come around.
Anyway, I think it's time to upgrade to Lollipop now that it's available, but I really want to keep root access, and since you guys are the professionals, I want to know the best way to flash the new update instead of take the OTA, which, if I'm not mistaken, will let me keep root and the small possibility that I can get Cyanogen some day. Is it best for me to just go ahead and take the risk-free OTA update, or should I flash? If so, can someone guide me through the process? I'm sorry if this sounds like child's play to you but I don't want to brick my phone in any situation, so it'd be great if someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance!

Update: I followed a tutorial to update to OC1, but was not successful (Wouldn't boot). I used Odin to reflash the NC5 and now I'm back where I started. Anyone have an idea?
Here's the link to the tutorial:

Edit: Tried this twice, both didn't work. I'm considering just taking the OTA and not getting root. What should I do?

OC1: Is there any conceivable way that I could eventually flash an AOSP-based ROM?

I ended up with a Verizon S4 through eBay (for a good price at least), and have managed to get on 5.0.1 and root it (via the PC version of Kingroot). Being that it's the OC1 baseband version, my options seem to be quite - no, very limited, when it comes to flashing non-touchwiz based ROMs. Is there any conceivable way I can get a custom recovery on here that will allow me to flash AOSP ROMs? I can wait, it doesn't have to be right now... I just need to know if my particular S4 is permanently crippled in this regard, or if it's just a matter of waiting until someone cracks it. Ideally I'd like to have an unofficial Android M ROM on here when the time comes. What are my options?
Also, I just came from the development sub forum (I can't comment there yet) and saw a new 5.1.1 ROM (Gamer Rom?) that claims to work for the Verizon S4. I'm skeptical that it wouldn't actually brick my device so I wanted to check of anyone else here has found a way to flash it. As far as I know, we can't even flash CWM so I just wanted to double check of I was missing anything obvious. Cheers

How do I prep for Marshmallow?

I am on stock rooted Android 5.0.1, 24B, Lollipop, and have bumped TWRP 2.8.7.0 I know that Andoroid 6.0 is supposed to be headed for the LG G3 in the next few months. I also, know that Verizon is painfully slow to update their phones. I wonder what the best upgrade path might be, for me? 1.) Wait for Verizon OTA, remove root and TWRP and then take the OTA? 2.)Wait for someone to build a rooted stock 6.0 ROM for the Verizon phone, VS985? Any ideas how I can get set, ahead of time, to be in the best position to move to 6.0?

first and foremost lol, if you see official M for this device before say feb/mar next year, you will be lucky. likely longer.
any rumors to the contrary are plain wrong, i mean this is verizon were talking about lol
at this point we dont know yet when the nexus line is getting the final official. could be next week, could be next month.
verizon cant even start to build the ota until official is released.
1. you never want to take an ota before verifying what they did and didnt break, like root and rollback ability.
so, i would wait for the ota, asses the above, then decide which way to proceed.
2. there is really no way to say which direction is best, until a dev gets a look at the files from the update.
A. nothing you can do ahead of time, and honestly, likely 6mos or more away, i wouldnt even worry about it.

I agree with @bweN diorD. I would generally go with "2.)Wait for someone to build a rooted stock 6.0 ROM for the Verizon phone, VS985?", in which case you don't have to do anything at all, just wait for it to be available. If for whatever reason that never happens, then I'd go with waiting for the KDZ to be made available (could be days or weeks after the OTA, was only days IIRC for 24B), then flash it using LG Flash Tools 2014, although then you wouldn't be rooted and you might not be able to root it, but you'd be running it until/if someone does release a rooted version or a new root method, if possible.

Ha! You said "asses".

Brand new VZW S4 w/ NC5, Need Advice and Help

Hello,
Firs off I'm new here so a lot of this stuff is still foreign to me. I was able to get a brand new Verizon S4 with NC5. I have not even opened the box yet.
I want to upgrade to the best OTA which also has a stable, reliable, debloated custom ROM available similar to say CleanRom. Which OTA should I upgrade to? If it's not the newest VZW has put out, will I get notifications every day asking me to upgrade?
Which custom ROMs are similar to CleanRom? I was stability, reliability, speed and tethering.
Thanks!
Empty Galaxy is a killer kitkat rom
Stang5litre edition is a great lollipop rom. He and klabit87 are working on some fun stuff right now too.
There are a few ways to update. Safestrap or flash fire.
Flash fire flashes once in the rom. You have to be careful with it. It can flash the kernel and bugger things up.
Safestrap is a recovery before the rom boots but is only compatible with kitkat. You have to flash a kitkat kernel to use when flashing when using lollipop roms. Then flash the lollipop kernel and boot the rom.
Muniz_ri makes some stock rooted roms with older bootloaders so you can always go back.
Always uninstall SDM with titanium backup when using a stock prerooted rom so it doesn't try to update the phone and ruin the fun.

Thanks for the reply Brian! Since posting, I taught myself a few things but your tips certainly will help!
I installed Eclipse ROM and so far so good. The one exception is I lost my Verizon voicemail. How can I add that? I have my old S4 laying around, also on NC5. Can it be copied from there?
I'm not sure. if the old one is rooted, you may be able to copy the apk to the directory of the new phone and change the permissions and reboot and have it work but I'm not sure.

Newbie help with updating while keeping root

First, I had a rooted G3. Never updated it. Now, I have an H830 (T-Moble) variant. I've been rooted since I bought the phone and have never updated because I don't know how to do it without losing root. I'm still on software version H83010d (Android 6.0.1).
From what I've gathered, I just download the .zip in here and install via TWRP and then flash superSU afterwards?
I'm not completely sure what the talk of modifying boot.img or removing recovery-from-boot.p...
My reason for updating is because I want to try the Fulmics ROM or any optimized ROM for that matter. I had one on my G3 and it ran so much better.
But then as a follow up question, is the update process the same from a ROM? Do you just flash an update over the Rom and then re-flash the ROM?
Any links or answers are appreciated so I can finally figure out how to update while retaining root on my devices.
