Testers - Mi 3 General

Hey guys. My cancro is not with me for a couple of weeks so I am not able to test out stuff that I am building. If anyone is ready to test a couple of roms for me, that will be good.

When CyanogenMod 11 is released in a few weeks, we'll probably start to work on it then.

Typo CM11 is already released* While I could begin working on it, CM10.2 is still good and CM11 is most probalbly far from being stable anyway (I mean it got released 2 days ago...)

Yeah, I agree with that. CM10.2 is, as far as I'm concerned, definitely a daily driver and there's no point in doing CM11 until CM works out some of the initial system level bugs.

Same on my GT-N7000 (SG Note), but we cannot define it as a CM, only as an AOSP Rom.
EDIT: I never had a fc or a bootloop, all worked perfectly and (too) smoothly.

[PORT] [ALPHA] Touchwiz 5 | Android 4.4.2 | DEV ONLY

Hello guys !!
I'm here to speak about porting Touchwiz on Hammerhead.
I tried two times to port Touchwiz, but each time, it wont boot. I used the Kitkat stock rom of the Samsung Galaxy Note III because Note III seems to have an hardware similar to Hammerhead. You can download the rom Here.
The base rom i used is the Hammerhead 4.4.2 stock rom downloadable Here.
I can't edit the kernel so i tried with the kernel included on the stock rom zip.
Here's the rom !
Cheers
Oh, man, you have no idea how excited I am about this. I just hope this thread stays on topic and doesn't get closed like the sense port. I am available to try out anything if you need it :good:
Oh, and FIRST

Don't be so excited because i'm a noob in porting and tried it but i think devs like @GalaxyUser can help us to have a workink touchwiz rom on Hammerhead. @GalaxyUser have already port Sense 6, i think he is capable to help us. @GalaxyUser Aller on va y'arriver ^^
Cheers
I'm looking at the basics of porting as well to see if I can at least get it to boot as a personal goal
Don't quote me on it, but if I remember correctly, @GalaxyUser has already started a port...maybe?
Waiting for trying this ! !!!
Don't know if @GalaxyUser started a port, but it's possible, and i never seen any report about Touchwiz rom booted on Nexus 5.
He/she does have a booting port, but would not release due to some serious bugs he couldnt fix (NFC, WiFi, etc.)

Amazing if it booted, even if nothing worked, it would be nice to upload it and let other devs have a look on it and try some fixes :silly:
Nice work !!!!
It's nice to see more and more ports for Nexus 5. Maybe we will see ported LG UI too. but this time thanks for your effort on porting Touchwiz and good luck on it!
Uploaded touckwiz rom
I uploaded the touchwiz rom for Hammerhead. (doesn't boots) Sorry for late. I had a power failure yesterday.
Cheers

Check your recovery; make sure its updated and whatnot. Personally, if you aren't willing to break/brick your phone, I wouldn't even worry about downloading it just yet.
There are at least 2 people working on it, but that doesn't necessarily mean working results from at least me XP
Wonderful work. It would be nice to have some ports (touchwiz, sense) for our n5. After all, there's plenty of users who enjoy those interfaces (me included, I like sense).
Thank you so much, let's hope we have help for this

[Q] CM11/CM12 for Alpha

Any1 know if Alpha eventually will get CM11 or (hopefully) CM12?
I'm soon receiving my Alpha, and I'm prepared to hate Touchwiz from day 1, so I'm already looking into possibilities of another ROM. But have been out of the loop for two years due to a iPhone detour.
We will see. But developers aren't too happy with this device. And... This should be in Q&A section...

Paranoid Android for Honor 5X?

Do you guys feel the need to have a Paranoid Android ROM for Honor 5X. If yes, please help me out by getting the AOSP code.
P.S. I am not a developer, though I can be a device maintainer for this ROM.
Definitely feel the need. Here's the manifest. https://github.com/AOSPA/manifest AOSPA gives very good instructions in the readme
Yes please! I would love to see AOSPA on the Honor 5x
@mumith3 can you build this bro?

Well, I already tried to build AOSPA & AOSCP, Both were buggy as hell Booted, but almost unusable. :crying: :crying: :crying:
Unfortunately I'm not expert enough ( you can mark me as a noob actually ) to fix them.
Recently all are waiting for nougat rollout. So am I.
even some ROMs manifests on Github are already updated to nougat!!!
Lets wait for a stable device tree to be rolled out for our device. Looking forward to our chief devs( crpalmer, baddaemon, gopi, jsbeyond & all)
Cheers!

You're welcome mate. I myself do hope that , The more the merrier.
Actually development seems to be halted & I myself can't say that I'm not restless... but without a stable device tree or kernel, I can't build myself. But I can assure development is NOT halted & devs are surely looking into stuffs in their free time for the sweet( I mean nougat ofcourse )
BTW, did you try building rom yourself? or have any cool ideas about testing different toolchains with different roms?
I'm currently testing UBER toolchain with RR, it does not work weel :crying: :crying: :crying: & I don't know whats the problem :crying:
