Hey Guys,
i have the my update sitting at my device for ages, never manged to install it. I had TWRP 2.3 recovery first, and while the software update didnt flash and aborted with error 7 i flashed the stock recovery via fastboot.
Stock recovery just restarts the phone when it compledted like 60-70%.
Htc support just hang up when i gave through my imei with the comment "it has a costum rom, we dont support that, bye".
yeah, im not even using a costum rom. I'll try the RUU tonight, lets hope that works.
Does anyone have further suggestions or even the new stock 4.2.2 rom?
Regards
Honestly just install a custom Sense 5 Rom to save yourself some trouble.

The best way is to flack stock image.
You can use this guide to go back to stock.
Then use this to root.
Then flash twrp using flashify.
Then flash the rom
Cheers!

The error probably because of any firmware issue. That's why I'm telling you to re-flash stock.
FYI kingroot is not a proper root method. There is a huge possibility that kingroot itself cause software failure.

Hey
I followed ur all step but i still can't flash any rom same error!!
And now twrp recovery is not working!!
please, help me. I wanted to flash my phone with the stock rom of version 5.1. Unfortunately for me, each time i try to flash it with sp flash, it always get stuck at 1%.
I tried flashing the logo, recovery, etc one by one. They were successful except for system.img. I do get an error S_D_SSMMDC_FAILED_WRITE(3154).
I think the problem is the firmware I downloaded because when I was extracting it, i was getting an error. Please, my phone is stuck at the boot logo, i need the original stock rom version 5.1 urgently.

i would send a link to it but as i am new i am not allowed if you search "Htc One Max LineageOS" it's the first link by Cyanogenmods.org there is a download link in there.
it is supposed to be an unofficial version by tarkzim

Well there's two possible causes for bootlop, this build is not support your variant , or you downloaded the wrong architecture of gapps for Htc one Max you need to get the Arm 32 gapps, if you flashed the Arm 64 then there's the problem.
I suppose you do all wipes before flashing the rom.

Maybe you need to update to a lastest firmware before installing lineage, ¿Are you trying a custom kernel or something? If you do all wipes and your variant is supported i don't see the reason, why you can't boot, you can try another rom to see if the problem is in the lineage rom itself

yeah ill give another rom a try, i got onto cyanogen's website and looked through the device support list and my phone isn't listed on either the official or unofficial list so i dunno maybe it doesn't support it not sure why there is a download available though
