Something sucking my battery. - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

I am miui 8.1.4.0 mm and i am losing almost a 8-10 percent of battery during sleep and screen on time is like 5 to 6 hrs!!!
Previously i got around 8 to 9 hrs of screen on time and also i am using radon kernel in this setup please suggest me a solution!!!!!

I facing this issue for 2weeks ago. Still cant solve this bug even I tried clean flash rom and tried install BetterBattery Monitor to know which app drain my battery while sleep ?

Install BetterBatteryStats. Probably kernel wakelocks? Have you seen something strange?
Do you know which fingerprint sensor is in your phone?

I am also having the same issue of battery drainage. I am on MIUI 8.1.6.0 global stable . What is d2tw & how to disable it?

he flashed radon kernel and had double tap to wake (d2tw) turned on. doing this means battery consumptions because touch screen is always on but display not. when you use stock MIUI and no radon kernel you have no d2tw

Double-tap To Wake Screen?

Is there any app, Xposed module, mod, etc to get the "double-tap to wake screen" feature like LG phones have?
I tried an app that woke the phone by waving in front of the proximity sensor, but that was a battery hog.
Would like to be able to wake phone without power button.
I'm running PAC ROM which does have double-tap to sleep.
Thanks for any suggestions!
2nd this.
This is typically dependent on the kernel. It also needs to have support by the hardware, otherwise there is massive battery drain. I'm 99% certain our phone does not have the proper hardware for it.
We have douple tap to sleep. But not wake.

You just echoed the OP .
What can be done to get wake on tap is my question.
You would have to start by removing tap to sleep.
Can't have both. Its doable but as said earlier it would cause drain issues.

Why can't we have both like LG?
I would prefer double-tap to wake, since I already have icons/apps that can put the phone to sleep like Green if click on an icon.
How does LG do this without battery drain problem I wonder?

Still doable. Not sure what all can be done to reduce drain. Its like Google now voice detection. Disabling that increases battery life as well. So it really boils down to what you are willing to sacrifice for a particular function addition.

Implementation with a disable switch solves that. User can decide turnoff if too much battery drain.
Yep. Would only make sense to be able to disable it. If I couldn't disable Google now voice I would delete it all together... Handy tool. But I enjoy my battery life way to much.
Yes, Gravity screen

Since CM Preview (MT2).
I have Tasker (paid app). So I even disable CM's double-tap to sleep function.

I meant Display/Lock in Tasker instead of double-tap to lock the screen (Screen Off).
Screen On can also be set with Tasker, functioning exactly the same way as Gravity Screen.

I use it every day, all the time. I liked it so much as to pay for the it, not using the demo, which is sufficient. No, it doesn't drain the battery.

Not sure what you're asking me?
You can fix deepsleep after root with Xposed, Using DS Battery Saver and enabling which ever suits your phone usage, and also installing Greenify (turn on Agressive Doze in the settings). I use it on my s6 edge 6.0.1 And it works flawlessly
is that work for note 5 n920c
can tell me how i can fix battery

Right here above your post. Did you even bother to try??
guys help me
Go back to stock, install custom recovery, reroot device, install Xposed, install xposed modules DS battery saver and greenify. Reboot device, goto settings in greenify and enable Agreesive doze, choose your settings for DS Battery saver to how you use your phone. If still having issues flash a deep sleep fix.
Also you can use greenify to hibernate apps that run in background when screen is off

No deep sleep after sim unlock
Hi guys, some help would be much appreciated. I'm just an average phone user, but am desperate to fix my phone.
I took my S6 Edge+ to a GSM store a few days ago to get it sim unlocked, and now it won't go to deep sleep and dies super fast.
I tried a factory reset but that didn't help either. Any suggestions? I'm on android 6.0.1.
Thanks a bunch!

Delayed screen wakeup

I'm facing an issue with screen wake up with my kenzo in Nougat 7.1.x roms. The screen takes more than a second to wake up, and the issue occurs both while using the fingerprint scanner as well as using the power button to wake. On succesful scan/power button press, the button backlights come on immediately, but the screen comes on only after a second, and sometimes even more.
This issue was also present till MIUI 8.0.6.0, but was resolved in the MIUI 8.1.1.0 update. I also tried Xiaomi EU rom and it did not exhibit the issue at all.
I know a mere one second delay is not something to rant about, but still it gives the perception of a cheap underpowered phone, despite having one of the most powerful SOCs around. The fingerprint scanner is really quick and this issue doesn't do justice to it.
What can I do to speed up the screen wake up in custom ROMs?
P.S: I use Radon kernel in all the custom ROMs that I flash. Anything to do with that? And, please DON'T suggest me to go and stick with MIUI!!
Regarding Radon. Which version did you use? I think it was 3.7 were they changed something that slowed down the wake up. It should be fixed now in 3.8
If you're using 3.8, let the developer know they may be able to sort it out.

I've been using Radon right from version 3.7.4, and am now on 3.8. I have tried wakeup boost as well, and noticed no real difference.

Wake up boost doesn't do anything for me either. Have you adjusted any other settings, like minimum frequency? It could be that too. I'd reflash the kernel, set balanced profile and don't touch anything in KA (maybe disable it to prevent changes) and see how that goes.

I do the same as well. I flash Radon with balanced profile and don't touch anything in it except the sound settings.
Post something in the kernels thread here at XDA, see what they have to say. It could be something they can fix.

Is it really related to the kernel? Or does it have anything to do with the ROM?

The reason I think it could be the kernel because of earlier changes/reverts they did that slowed down the wake up. It could be entirely the ROM's fault. Does it happen with the stock kernel?

Cant solve this issue .... Present in 7.1.1 , checked in resurrection remix 5.8.1 ( on many Nightlies) and AOSP Extended 3.1 . Issue present on both stock and Radon kernel.

Any suggestions?
Thankyou

Yep. Just added a regularly used app to Greenify's hibernation list to trigger the notification. Will monitor over the next few hours.

Minimal - probably need an app like BBS or GSAM to see the impact, especially when operating in 'root', 'boost' or 'privileged' mode.

Yep - clearly an issue with your device/ROM. I don't see this on any of my devices by varying manufacturers and ROMs from 5.1 to 7.1. Suspect the problem is not widespread given lack of similar postings.
Maybe try stopping Greenify, then clear app data (you will lose all Greenify settings) and cache, start Greenify again, reconfigure your Greenify settings, and monitor with GSAM again.

Clean flash should fix it...unless there is something unusual about your ROM. Notifications themselves should not trigger wake time and associated battery drain.

Phone idle Battery drain issue in both Miui 10 official developer ROM and miui.am ROM

I clean flashed miui.am ROM and fully charged my device.
But when I wake up it drained to 89%.. and data, WiFi , GPS are turned off. It showed that WhatsApp consumed more battery , is there any fix for this battery draining issue?.. See the screenshot attached below please

How is the batter setting on the app? Most of the apps I use are set to Miui battery. The only app that I set to not close is FB and messenger with no restrict on battery. NO battery drain issue so far. I'm on 8.8.23 developer rom.
