How to flash 32.3.A.0.376 (Nougat)? - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking to flash 32.3.A.0.376 (Customized AU) onto my Z5 Compact which is currently on 32.2.A.0.305 (Telecom NZ) because I heard 'Customized' firmwares don't come with bloatware and the carrier boot animation.
Is there anything I need to know or do before I flash the firmware? Perhaps backing up the TA partition (or whatever it's called, not too sure.) or do you only do that if you root? Do I even need an unlocked bootloader to flash this official Sony firmware straight from Xperifirm?
Thanks.
Just finished downloading 32.3.A.0.376 using Xperifirm.

No unlocked bootloader needed to flash ftf with flashtool. But there is still bloatware in the firmware.

Hi! I've downloaded the firmware throw Xperifirm, Do I need to make a TFT file or something? Is my first time hehe and I haven't seen any updated tutorial about this

Right, you need a .ftf file. If you started Xperifirm through the button in flashtool, after closing XF, flashtool will make the file automaticly.
The tutorial stays the same, you need no updated one.

[FIXED] How to use flashtool without loosing root?

I searched a lot for generic FTF files for Xperia mini and I find two useful firmware in this forum:
1- 4.0.2.A.0.42 firmware and I can flash with it and root but It's not global firmware (I cant find right to left languages like Arabic)
2- 4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware and it's global so I find Arabic language but I cant root my phone.
So I want to to flash my phone with 4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware without loosing the root.
There is anyway to do this?
or any other solution?
Thank you...
Edit:
I found the solution:
1- Unlock bootloader by official sony site
2- flash with unrooted .62 firmware in this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477440
3- flash by fastflash (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25024200) with boot.img taken from previous topic.
Now my phone has rooted .62 firmware
Special thanks to benji.berg
Install the .42 firmware, root your phone and make update directly via 3G or WiFi from your phone to .62(Over The Air, OTA, update).

But .42 firmware isn't global and doesn't has Arabic language and when I update it to .62 it doesn't has it also.
If you can give me a link for global .42 firmware (not for southeast asian countries) I will appreciate it.
Thanks
you can unlock bootloader when you're in .42. Flash .62 without locking the bootloader and then flash a custom kernel with root and CWM.

I can flash with flashtool and root (ftf file)
I don't know how to flash custom kernel with root
It's safe?

[Q] is it safe to flash a general/non branded stock ftf to a branded Z2 ?

i didn't explain my last post good enough so this is the straight question
i have a unlocked branded (UK O2) Z2, and i want to flash a stock general/unbranded ftf, is that safe ?
Yes
As simple as yes because i have a 3 UK Z2 but it has a Generic Tiwan FTF flashed to it
Will you get generic/unbranded OTA updates after that?

Xperifirm and flashtool

Hello!
I have a wifi version Z4 tablet purchased in germany. I am looking at upgrading to the UK firmware because it is newer than the one for German model. Does anyone know if this will work, and if so, do you have any pointers???
Thanks in advance!
I am on swiss (CH) version for the same reasons.
Just try it and tell us.
If you do not like it you go back to the ROM you have now.
Seems that the newer flashtool version will support our tablet z4 but i´m not sure what has to be done since a FSC file is now needed...
Done!
Just followed instructions I found on the Internet and it worked!
So anyone can upload the needed template script for Tablet Z4 LTE 771?
get the latest flashtool

I'm using latest flashtool but template file is needed i think. Can't flash without it
I bought USA version of Xperia Z4 Tablet and have to install Russian version of firmware. I downloaded SGP712_CIS RU-UA-KZ-BY_1295-7241_28.0.A.8.260_R6A and used flashtool 0.9.22.3 to make and flash ftf.
1. flashtool asked me: "A FSC script is found: default.fsc. Do you want to add it?". Am I need to use it or I have to make ftf file without default.fsc script?
2. When I tried to flash produced ftf file flashtool asked: "Those data are not in the FSC script and will be skipped: B2B.". Is it safe to flash this ftf?
please do some research...

i tried xperiafirm app but the flashtool can't see the file i downloaded, can i download a lolipop first then update it to MM ?
and do i need to lock bootloader before or after flashing the Original ROM ?
thats weird. make sure your ftf firmware file is placed here. C:\Users\your pc name\.flashTool\firmwares
>>Download ftf from the ROM section of the phone in XDA
>> Keep it in the right place inside the flashtool usually C:\Users\your PC\.flashTool\firmwares
if you are not using the old flashtool.
>>sometimes if it did not show up.
so you may need to rename your downloaded file from .zip to .ftf so it shows in the firmware folder
and all is good now , just flash it keeping or wiping data whatever you need.
Cheers

[ERROR] Flashtool Xperia X 34.2.A.0.273 Nordic Combined

Hi all,
I am trying to flash my Xperia X (bootloader locked) with the latest Nougat official release with the Nordic Combined customization (34.2.A.0.273, CDA 1302-3140) using the latest Flashtool release (0.9.23.0). In order to do so I've created a copy of the script file for 34.2.A.0.266 (only Nougat available for the Xperia X) and renamed it to F5121_34.2.A.0.273.fsc. Unfortunately the flashing process doesn't complete succesfully and I keep on getting the following error:
Code:
ERROR - Processing of system.sin finished with errors.
Do you know whether that is an issue related to Flashtool being incompatible with this specific firmware version (34.2.A.0.273) or has to do with something else? Has anybody successfully flashed the Xperia X Nougat Nordic Combined firmware without unlocking the bootloader?
Thanks for your help!
weird, had the same thing yesterday. Solved it by flashing only system.sin and after that the full ftf

Thanks for your feedback! I´ll try to flash it the way you proposed... Did you use any flash script (renaming the Nougat existing one)?

Yes is also renamed the 34.2.A.0.266 script to 34.2.A.0.273.fsc
I did flash without any errors full ftf of Nordic firmware
Here is an update on my current situation:
The problem seems to be related to Flashtool (I am using the latest version 0.9.23.0). I've tried flashing different customizations of the Nougat firmware (Customized NOBA and UK) and every single time I get the same system.sin error. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flashtool (including the drivers) without any improvement. When I repair my Xperia X with Xperia Companion it updates it to 34.2.A.0.266 Customized UK without any issue (the original firmware installed in my terminal was a Customized UK). Furthermore, I've recently flashed a Xperia E5 using Flashtool 0.9.23.0 with the same computer without any problem.
Does anyones have a clue of what I might be doing wrong when flashing my Xperia X with Flashtool or whether it would be possible to force Xperia Companion to repair the terminal with the Customized NOBA instead of the UK one?
Thanks!
after the rename, flashtool should notify you that a new script was found, and ask you to use it, click yes... then will ask you to skip or continue... you should click Yes Continue, then all process should work fine....
did you rename like that : F5121_34.2.A.0.273.fsc ???
also should be placed in C:\Users\yourname\flashTool\devices\F51XX
