About to purchase a Le Max 2 X829 4G+64G. I have the following questions which i'm not 100% sure about from searching the forum :
Does x829 just refer to the software installed or is it a different model (hardware)?
Will root guides etc will all work on this model?
Although the listing says bands FDD-LTE B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B12/B17 , is due to the software installed and can I unlock B20 as i require?
If depends if they will use the same hardware unmodified. I personally would not buy it, if I would need B20. But it's up to you.

So, I recently bought an Elephone p8000. This is my first time buying an unlocked phone, and I didn't know that one needed specific bands in order to use the various networks.
What I want to know is, is there a way to unlock more bands on the mt6753, or specifically for the p8000?
I've found a similar guide for phones using qualcomm, so I hope that something like that exists for the mt6753.
Unlocking more bands on MT6753
\I have a similar issue. Anyone have a solution to this?
Hi, I need help.
So, I bought 2 moto E 2015 model (at&t unlocked) from Ebay - very cheap.
But this phones working with only 2G mode in my country (even theese are LTE models ).
I want to reinstall system to better one - which there is no any at&t default applications or any of carrier applications.
And I also want to change baseband versions - because, this phone working only with 2G network type with my country's mobile carriers. I think it should be for baseband (network standarts) .
is it possible to fix problem with change firmware and baseband to no-contract version?
I asked my mobile carrier, they said, "we are using 900-1800 MHZ for GSM ; 900-2100 for 3G, 2100 for LTE (up to 2100)
Who can provide how to and links?
Thanks.
The AT&T model cannot be bootloader unlocked, so you cannot change the firmware to another version. There's a guide in the General forum about enabling additional LTE bands, you can try tweaking it for 3G, but there's no guarantee that the AT&T model's antenna hardware can support those bands.
I bought a X821 and on the back of my phone is x821 printed, but after installing Lineageos the model in "About Phone" is LEX829. Now I'm wondering if my phone really is X821. Since the X829 doesn't support band 20. I want to know sure that I can use band 20.
X821
If you bought it as an Indian LeEco Le Max 2, it's an x821. The model number is written on a system file, which gets overwritten by every ROM you flash. In fact, if you flash a stock ROM intended for the Chinese version (x820, which is 100% the same as x821, except for the included apps and the data encryption) your model number changes to x820. Just don't worry, you have the correct model.

I got the same. Installed CM14.1 results in X829 --> additonal flashed Indian Modem -> X820 aka X821
If you phone tells you X829 you will not have LTE Band 20 ( via software )

Trying to decide whether to get G965FD or G9650 to use with T-mobile US. G9650 will have unlockable bootloader for rooting the device, correct? I realize the device is too new and there is no root for Chinese/HK variant yet but it will be there soon if it has unlocked bootloader.
Will flashing T-mobile US CSC give the VoLTE+WiFi calling features while preserving the unlocked bootloader and root?
The only reason I ask is because Exynos S7/S8+ modem download speeds suck on T-mobile US(10Mbps vs 60Mbps on Qualcomm in same location at same time when I tested). And then G9650 may support band71 as G965FD does not for 600MHz LTE on Tmobile.
Bump...
damn, does S9+ SM-G9650 have or not unlocked bootloader ?
would awesome to have 256gb vs low 128gb on S9+ SM-G965F
It has an unlocked bootloader from what others have posted so far. In fact there is first version of TWRP being tested on it looks like. Not sure if we can flash US CSC on it though. Also the modem on it probably is missing band 71 like international Exynos. There won't be many ROMs out for it but at least you can get root, dual SIM and Snapdragon advantage(as mentioned in reviews) I guess....
I think I'm only going to root if there is a way to go back to stock if I want.
I had an LG V20 on Sprint and I rooted it. Which is fine. All worked well and I was able to uninstall LG related crap I did not want. But with that I could not receive Android updates. I wasn't running a custom ROM, I just wanted root to remove LG installed crap.
I am looking for a Honor 20 Pro version that fully supports all bands used in Europe, particularly in Switzerland.
According to www.frequencycheck.com, I need the model YAL-L41 to support all 3 LTE-bands used here.
The local online-shops use model number 51093VET.
Whats the difference/relation between the different model-numbers, p.ex. YAL-L41 und 51093VET?
How to be shure that I get the correct device that supports all locally used LTE bands?
Additional infos:
