Google play certified? - LG G2 Mini

I installed LOS 14, so my phone (D620R) become uncertified on Google play. I have to ask, is there any way to make it certified?

certified mean your bootloader is locked

OK but is there anyway to trick it?

I don't think that google can find our bootloader "unlock", because, technically, the bootloader is still locked. We simply bypass LG's Secure Boot.
Google is probably detecting root. (Certified -> no root)

So can we trick Google that our device is not rooted?

Possibly. I don't know.
What is the usage of "certified"?

Read this:

There's no way to fix, you have to sell it as bricked device...

Yes.
Sony warns this problem in bootloader unlocking page, so read carefully before trying.
(they should change it to big red text?)
Unlocking bootloader is risky thing if you don't read warning.
Also security and encryption features often don't work on unlocked bootloader, so don't expect them to work.

I noticed Sony Mobile Flashtool give same error on my full working Z5c (ERROR - Can't read a byte value), so that should be a Flashtool issue... Maybe fixing that, I could flash and unbrick my Z4 tablet (?)

If you don't mind losing your data, enable developer options then see if there is an option for "enable OEM unlock". If there is, check the box and reboot. Then make sure you have your drivers installed, open a terminal and run adb reboot bootloader. if it boots to bootloader, run fastboot oem unlock.

There's a toggle in Developer Option that will enable the unlocking of Bootloader. I don't see any workaround about the rooting for this V10 series.
i have LG v10 H960 variant. i can see in the developer option the unlock bootloader option. Does it mean i can unlock and root my phone?
Pretty sure everyone has the toggle but only t-mobile version can actually be unlocked.

See another thread about root bounty.
Long story short, there was found a way, but it's insecure and the author will not release it until a TOT file is available (for phone unbrick/firmware reflash) - so be patient, it may take months, or will not happen ever...

Not gonna happen anytime soon, since dm-verity security was introduced on the z3+ every Xperia since has needed a unlocked bootloader to get root there's also no way to back up ta keys currently either unfortunately. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes if it's a sim free network unlocked device not locked down by a network/carrier and its supported by Sony for unlocking. Phones that come locked to one network are usually not bootloader unlockable. I was referring to locked Bootloader root, on mm it looks like it's a thing of the past from now on
*#*#7378423#*#* enter into the dial pad and in software configuration I think it is it will say
Bootloader unlock allowed: yes or no, if it's a yes no problem get the code from Sony via email and unlock(it voids the warranty though), if it's a no you won't be rooting it.

Make sure my Xperia is off and OEM unlock in developer options is on, also once the drm/ta keys are gone on unlocking there's no getting them back as there's no way to back up ta keys currently on our devices before unlocking which is why I'm waiting for now.

You are almost right. The only part I disagree with its that you said it will not happen any time soon. While dm-verity make it impossible to modify the system and permanently root it, if a proper exploit is found (which happens almost every month) the system can be temporarily rooted. When that happens, the TA partition can be backed up and the bootloader can be unlocked for permanent rooting. That's actually how z3+ is rooted.

You really make me laugh!! Almost one exploit by month ?! The exploit used in Z3+ was discovered in 2014 (the one used by Kingroot) !!! And patched since 3.18 kernel. Since when dm-verity on Marshmallow was beaten without downgrading to an old exploit on Lollipop?? Can you prove me that's possible to dump TA in MM. Answer me just to laugh a little more :good: See you next month for a new exploit
For me aidy.lucas is fully right!

F3213 - Bootlooder
Hi,
I purchased a F3213, single sim that was carrier locked, no way of unlocking the bootloader.
So after hours of searching, found a fellow in England who offered me a tool to make the phone bootloader unlock ready.
The Phone now works with another carrier, if i unlock the bootloader will i loose the DRM keys?

Unlocking it to work on a different network still won't make the bootloader unlockable. If it's been locked down by a carrier/network it'll stay locked even if the device will now work on any network.

If you can unlock bootloader, root is possible. Download the rootpack for your model and follow the guide for XA, read comments if needed. Read carefully the "unlock bootloader" part to be aware of what it does.
So if I root my F3213, does this allow me to get rid of all the crapware Sony put on there? Or will I need to flash a custom ROM in order to do that?

You don't need to flash a custom ROM to remove most of the system applications. If you have root you can use Titanium Backup to eliminate those unwanted apps.
I haven't rooted yet and just using the disable function in the settings/apps I've gotten rid of almost everything except the What's New thing. With that I just blocked the notifications and it doesn't bother me.
Hey guys. I have a question. It seems that in sony's android MM version, microsd cards can't be used as internal storage. I had in other rooted phone the Link2SD app just to expand my internal storage. On XA Ultra we get only 10Gb free, no root no unistalling trash apps, sooo, any way to expand it via sdcard until root is available?

MM have a feature called Adoptable Storage, you can find guide on Xda. Simple way is to use "root essentials" app on rooted device or with ADB command on not rooted device.

stock pie not Google certified?

Out of curiosity I went and check device certification status in playstore and see this.
I'm on the pie stock version, locked bootloader not rooted (never tinkered with this device yet)
Is it me or anyone as a similar situation?

its not really a problem for me, was more surprised and wondered if it was just me or not.
Dont think Google would appreciate LG release a SW to user without approval, thats for sure not in the GMS contract (i would know I work at another OEM using Android)

Install magisk (but I guess you lready have since you're rooted) then there should be an add on for that.
Go have a look at the magisk forum section (it's not device specific) for the latest info. Have not done that recently so can't recommend a specific version
Fixed it xD

Root and Bootloader Unlock

I have the unlocked version of this phone. I don't see anything about root or unlocking the bootloader? Really all I want is root so I can run Network Signal Guru...
Good morning,
unfortunatly I checked yesterday and wrote also to the dev... it is still not available from Official LG Web site.

Unlocked versions is about the carrier is unlocked meaning it doesn't have a carrier/plan locked with it. It doesn't mean it have an unlocked bootloader. If you really want a unlocked bootloader phone in 2020, get OnePlus or Xiaomi, they are more dev friendly.
Also, with LG's history of supporting developers, this will not likely to get unlocked bootloaders later.

I think Motorola is dev friendly too. My friend say they give everything to root her phones. ??
I don't think someone will find a way to root the LG phones after the V30 model. My old phone before my new G8x was the V30 and it was complex to root, so I don't know for the most recent models ??*
I downloaded Treble info from play store and this is what I get;

Yea, you are right. But you guys won't get unlcoks and root anyway because you know LG's history. But it is a possibility that LG might allow that 1-2 years later.
Can we unlock the bootloader on the G8x with this method?

It seem that this tutorial from LG work with the LG G7. But, I wonder if it work on the most recent model.

You don't need network signal guru. There's some secret code that you can get from a simple google search to get into the secret field test menu. It gives all the network related info and let's you lock on to specific 4g bands as well.
LG supports G850EMW for G8X as well as V50s. I already received unlock.bin.
A bigger problem is extracting boot.img from the stock ROM. The latest LG KDZ Extract tool is from 2014 and doesn't handle the new DZ format.
Using the 'KSZ extractor for new format KDZs' by runningnak3d I could extract boot.img from a G850EMW20a ROM (Android 10). This will allow systemless root with Magisk.
Dec 15: rooted.
