Have you followed the advice here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/official-european-lg-g5-h850-bootloader-t3363040 using your current IMEI? If LG sends you an unlock.bin file after you've entered your device ID and IMEI, you should be good to go. (Note that you need the H850 model of the G5 to get unlock.bin.)

Hey guys ,
I was wondering if it's possible to change imei on a G4 wizard (cid locked).
The tool i have here iwizard.exe does not work, i think it's because my G4 is CID locked , not sure about that though?
anyone?
IMEI changing is illegal is it not?

It's not related to the locked CID but to the locked "CID area".
Since G3 SPL2.xx and G4 the DOC (Disc On Chip) has some write-protected zones that, so far, no one has been able to unprotect. Until it happens no CID unlock nor IMEI change
are there any "legal" reasons to change imei?
@mestrini
tnx for fast reply
so if i use imei-check.co.uk , i should be able to change my imei on my G4 wizard , correct ?

NO, NOT correct! Read the bottom of the website http://www.imei-check.co.uk/ :
"WARNING:Interfering with a handsets IMEI is illegal. None of our products can be used to perform IMEI changing."

Exactly, even unlocking CID won't disable the write-protection of the chip area where IMEI is stored.

This is rather illegal in a lot of the world, so question is, can you change the IMEI back to your own IMEI and it remain unlocked?
NOTE: It only costs about £10 to get someone to unlock the phone with a code for the TG01. Some carriers will give you a code free, so it's always worth checking with them first

Hi, I've had my ray for about a week now, and i'm already sick of the stock .62
I started unlocking my bootloader, the method from the Sony website. But when it asks me for my IMEI, it wants a 14 digit number, and mine is 15. I don't know what to do. Is there another solution? I would love some help. I have searched everywhere but apparently no one has the same problem.
I want to flash Miui but i'm new to this phone and I don't have a clue about anything. It was so much easier on my Optimus One

delete the last number of your imei to become 14 digit
6. Enter your name, email address, the first 14 digits (remove the last digit) of your phone’s IMEI number

I would like to send the phone in service, so I am interested in whether it is possible without problems through official unlocked phone?
The first time I successfully unlocked and is now locked to send in service, that if it can be again unlocked the same way?
Thanks in advance.

yes bootloader
Should work the same, just if you get replaced device back, then IMEI is different.
Haven't tested, not sure, just an opinion.

i know that the imei is different if i got another device, but if i got same device can i enter same cod i use firs time to unlock bootloader?
Yes, code stays the same then.
Are you sure? If we're talking about BL unlock, isn't the code calculated based on the IMEI? So, if you get a new phone (different IMEI) then code should be different...

Hello Guys!
I've try to cut it short.I would like to debrand (sim unlock) my SGS3, I used a tool named GalaxSim Unlocker, but it sad
"Either your nv_data md5 file is inexistent/wron or Samsung md5 function has changed. Stopping here to prevent eventual errors."
What is it? How can I fix this? or there is other method to network unlock my phone ?
HELP ME
THANK YOU GUYS BEFORE
Best way at present is to purchase an unlocking code from your network. The previously posted free methods don't work anymore due to changes by Samsung to the efs folder.

What prices am I looking at for sim unlock?

Is it possible to downgrade the rom and the modem for the one click method ?
Cost for a code varies, contact your network and a few repair ships to compare.
Yes, you could downgrade to older baseband -but only if you have a backup of your pre-MG4 efs folder and know what you're doing. Chances of bricking the phone are fair and you'll be stuck on that baseband, any upgrade will again lock the network.
That's why I said a code is currently the best option.
OK
