[ROM][D6603][D5803][unOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 12.1 [DEPRECATED] - Xperia Z3 Android Development

What is it
It is an under developpement LineageOS 14.1 build from random picked sources official LineageOS sources devices trees, and sonyxperiadev kernel. No modification into the code except to get device working. This rom is not intended to be used as daily usages, it is under development! The bigest part of this dev is done by the sonyxperiadev developers/contributors. The idea is to share this built with the community is to improve this rom (and the mentioned sources) faster to maybe, someday, get official again for our D6603. And maybe real dev can help It is an stable version of CyanogenMod 12.1 build from official CyanogenMod trees, and original kernel upgraded to include security patches. No modification into the code except kernel. As CyanogeMod doesn't exist anymore and android L is the only valuable (for now) custom rom for our devices, the idea is to provide upgrade of the original rom without modification. For now only kernel is upgraded, any help to backport AOSP security patch into gerrit is welcome

Thanks
@tomascus made kernel upgrades and I do not have the exact list.
This kernel is selinux upgraded to provide mush more compatibility with FOTAKernel recoveries, and some critical android security bulletins fix are included too.
However CM-12.1 is no more updated so any changes on this way.
So the only changes, compared to the last october official release, are available on the github. The build script is here, the only patch applied is the cm-12.1 defconfig.
I hope someone will help me to backport the security changes into CM to provide a full security updated rom.

Cm 12 is very stable the camera works. I noticed that also NFS No limits runs much better in cm12 I do not know if it was the ROM or some update just know that this incredible now

I have been using for a few days and I'm impressed with its performance. I know benchmarks don't mean a lot, but in real usage the feelings are as great as number suggest
Battery life is as good as stock (at least) and there are no real bugs. Only camera quality is worse than stock. I only miss a few options like network speed and others available on ExistenZ or Carbon, but this is going to be my daily driver for a long time!

Can you please take a logcat? Maybe something obvious like a missing file.
Also do you replaced your back cover?

For weeks there has been a team effort initiated by Gekkehenkie11 to bring CyanogenMod to the N910F. Many test builds have been released in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/rd-porting-cm12-t2951934 .
More and more users have asked for a ROM thread, to make releases more clear. Plus it's time to focus more on R&D in the R&D thread, and less on flash / usage issues. So here it is. The thread you've asked for.
Consider this the worst ROM thread in history.
This ROM would not have been possible without Slayher and Fattire! They have identified and solved a lot of the common trlte issues, and merged them back into the CM source. See their thread for more information about their work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/unoffcial-cm-12-0-t-mobile-note-4-t2964887 . We've picked up from there to modify everything for the N910F, rebase the work on the N910F kernel source, fix RIL issues, fix up missing blobs, tweaks, etc.
To quote Slayher:
CM-12.0 is not ready. There are still massive changes of the code base as it progresses to add the already established features and enhancements.
There will be things broken.

More info will follow later.
Expect bugs, flash at your own peril. Make sure you wipe the device, even if you come from a previous build.
Enjoy!
P.s.
This is all done on our free time. Take it or leave it. Don't expect support..... but we'll try our best to help you.
MOD EDIT -
The OP is no longer active but here are the latest builds, flash at your own risk.
Build 5th Feb...no need to flash blobs anymore.

* NFC works but either leave it always on or uninstall NFC: cause if you boot while NFC was off, it will drain battery during that session !
* It may say 'no service' during some sessions, this is a known upstream bug at the moment, but doesn't seem to affect functionality at all

Maybe add last build date in topic? And gapps in OP?
910G here, was running previous builds, just tried to flash this, couldn't get past boot animation, just flashed gekke's blobs on top to see if it boots.
This latest build contains changes to make the Samsung smart cover function. Which makes the device turn on in my pocket. This is an issue that needs to be addressed soon.

It's stock cm12. Looks the same on every phone.
I believe I know what is causing the issues with the latest build. The boardconfig changed, and I was behind pulling from some repo's. To fix it I have to nuke my build environment and rebuild everything again. This usually takes 6 hours which means it will finish when I'm in bed. Expect a new build in 24 hours or so.
Hi all.
Can someone please explain in few words why CM ROMs are better than TW ROMs? What are the advantages of flashing CM builds over TW etc? Thx

The question for me is why does Samsung put TW on Android? Pure Android is so sexy. With CM it's even more.

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.
Anyway to get a working system I added some changes from CodeAurora Forum and CyanogenMod. I added also 3 non-AOSP features for a better user experience (Advanced Reboot, "Clear All" button in Recents and an option to delete screenshots from the notification area) and I'm NOT going to add something other.
Features
Pure AOSP
It's pure AOSP (based on Slim and CAF)

NFC is stuck and causes a wakelock, remove NFC's APK from /system/app, so no, Android Pay does not work
And Baseband is not detected, this is a common issue with newer ROMs on the VS985, ill hunt down CM's commits for this
Probably a gapps issue, but Google Play Services refuses to work for signing in at the first boot, looking for my old gapps now, ill edit this if it was indeed because of the March 10th Gapps
Otherwise, it runs smooth as butter, keep up the good work!

I haven't seen your version of g3-common or anything but on most ROMs this winds up being what you need to do
As far as Gapps, it only happens when you install OpenGapps Stock builds, pico runs perfectly
as far as NFC, ill try replacing the apk for it and libs from CM or XenonHD and get those posted if they work

Found some odd little issue on the Newest Build, unsure if this one applies to the previous, but the Ringer, regardless of what ringtone is set, does not ring, and Autobrightness does not work, so turning it off is the only way to set brightness, and because you're using CM device trees and kernels, you technically have the proper libs, unless those files are on CM's venders for LG :silly:

Hey, thanks for pointing out those issues, yes i am using CM kernel and device trees i guess that's the reason brightness is not working properly because even CM had that issue many users reported that, i guess its fixed. The bugs that are currently in the 12.1 ROM persist through to the 13 ROM, so why would ditching one project help the other in anyway?
I wish other developers would help you with this. Getting working CM13 on this phone with more than decent hardware specs but crippled by Sony's software would be amazing.

The bugs that are currently in the 12.1 ROM persist through to the 13 ROM, so why would ditching one project help the other in anyway?

There are even more bugs in cm13 than cm12.1 like sdcard not working, so I think it'd be better if tony work in cm12.1 because the biggest issue is just the wake up screen; and we'd have nearly a daily driver.
Guys, the rom is on my site. Initially it reboots but after it works. Anyway is always an alpha
installs and runs fine on E2303. Thanks for the hard work :good:

display wake up is short but if ne because of no longer ... and not xternal sdcard
ok problem with Google Play Store at some apps he says that they are not kompatieble with this version. then just goes with apk file
The problem of lock screen really is a "wakeup from deep sleep problem". This means that the device, when locked, shutdowns cores and suspends. The suspension is managed by an android lib (present in cm12.1 and cm13) called libsuspend that works fine for suspension but not when have to wake up the device (you can find a line of log that says "Error writing on sys/power/state : Device or resource is busy).
But i don't think is a lib problem, but i've to find a way to workaround the complete suspension or device that, in this way, busy for the lib.
Suggestions are always appreciated
Just to make the things clear: the development for the two ROMS is parallel. Infant both the ROMS actually have almost the same bugs. There is no waste of energy, just i'm trying to make the things work better than i can
In these days, maybe also tomorrow i will release a fixed version of alpha 1 for CM13 that not reboots at first time. I fixed the problem. In the next days i will update more on the lock screen problem if i've some news about that.
thanks for the rom
please just fix the camera and the sim card for the dual version E2333 soon as you can sir
Dev settings dont work. App settings was stopped

Caf Explained!
You might have seen that name all over the forums back when kernel developers for Qualcomm Snapdragon devices maintained two separate forks of their work. One for code based on Google’s AOSP, and another based on CAF. Code Aurora Forum is maintained by the Linux Foundation, and is where Qualcomm releases the reference sources for their various platforms. Most OEMs base their kernel source off of what’s provided by Qualcomm. On the other hand AOSP works off of a fork of CAF for each Android software iteration, introducing new features for all Android devices along the way. Over time, CAF then introduces its own optimizations intended specifically for Snapdragon devices.
New build out, updated to 7.1.1 , and fixed audio.
Sorry for being slow..
The audio fix was the easiest ever to do, but i was looking at the wrong places until now

If you are going to use Gapps,
I recommend to use the pico package!

For the others, you can use microG if you want, I've enabled signature spoofing.
Do you like my work?
Than you can simply hit the thanks button and consider to spend me a coffee or a beer,
I'm doing this in my free time and it also costs a lot of money to buy hardware.

I'm testing it since yesterday and I have to say I'm really satisfied,
as soon as I have fixed the camera's, mobile data and the acceleration sensor, this ROM should be great.

Sounds good! Looking forward to try it out. And I hope there will be enough people left with these devices to be able to use your build.
Btw, did you have any use of the old marshmallow for it? Played a bit with it yesterday and it seems realy stable! The only thing that puts me off there is the small font.. There are of course ways to increase the size with some apps, but they are usually limited...
So, i hope there are usual ways to make the font bigger in your build for us elderly..

Nope ,
never tried this, you can set the font size as it should be in LOS, just try it if it's big enough .

Hi, where are the sources? In your github page, there aren't. I'm just curious to see what you have done, and in that way, I could fix something more in the other Tab 4 models that I maintain.

Managed install it finally! Have to give a tip to people that are going to do that - the latest TWRP can not mount the whole /data and format it if you have encryption. In that case you have to downgrade to the old 3.0.X TWRP first, and then go back to the latest TWRP to flash LOS16. Took me a while to find the solution for this
Writing this review on the t235, connected to a bt keyboard after the last OTA update..
Really good job! Everything seems to be working. And i can get bigger fonts! After the last update even bt works, which was important for me. The only bigger thing i haven't tested is mobile data.
And it's not that it's huge, but i am experiencing some microlags. Perhaps not surprising considering it's age and that it wasn't really a flagship device already when it was released..
Thank you for this! I will of course keep on testing for a while. And, just curious - will there be /e/?

If you're my only user, not , but everybody could use my sources and build /e/ out of it,
it actually should work out of the box.
Update 22.05.2021:
Fixed menu button configuration in settings
Made some RAM optimizations and tweaks
Made an Android go config
Removed unneeded button light and LED code, this device doesn't have any of them
Created many selinux labels, so we could switch it to enforcing in the future
Via OTA.
Hi
Thanks for keeping our device alive
