If you were to rate nitrogen OS, what would your review be?
I have been using Slim with Radon for quite a while now, and I have gotten an amazing experience.
Going to try Nitrogen soon, to see what the hype is all about!

Is it buggy?
aospextended
i have been using AospExtended from more than a month. very satisfied.
before that tried almost every rom but has issues. could not continued to use as daily driver.
also realised most of the lineage based roms are buggy and Aosp based are more stable.
no one can give you honest answer. try it for yourself.
i suggest AospExtended by AmolAmrit.
nitrogen is also very stable

No, Slim has no bugs that I know of, and plus, it is maintained by Umang96, you know he's the best.

only problem with slim rom (for me atleast) is that its very slim. not even the daily apps and some of the customization.
but i know thats why it is called as Slim Rom.

Can you please tell the procedure to flash Slim ROM, coming from MIUI 8 stable? There are many guides and I'm not sure which to follow. I don't want to lose imei and stuff. Can you please?
EDIT: Nevermind, flashed it
Unlock bootloader using the official method.
Install TWRP using the official guide on the TWRP website.
To do both of these, watch RootJunky's guide on YouTube.
After you have TWRP installed, put all these files on your phone or memory card. Use Firmware and Goodix Patch from Slim thread only. Use OpenGapps
Boot into TWRP and then make a full backup, then go into Wipe -> Advanced Wipe, wipe System, Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache.
Then go to Install and install these files in this order.
The latest version of Radon Kernel for Nougat, in balanced setting, is recommended for best performance and battery.
- Flash*Firmware
- Flash*Slim 7
- Flash Gapps
- Flash*SuperSU
- Flash*Goodix Patch*(If you have goodix FP)
- Flash*Radon Kernel (Choose Goodix FP, and Balanced settings during installation)
- Reboot and wait for 5-10 minutes.

Hi friends,
First of all I would like to thank all the developers, testers and members of the forum. It is good to see that new roms, kernels are still being developed.
I just got a Note 3 few days back and I want to gain max from it in terms of balance/battery performance along with some customizations. Although I am familiar with the concept of rooting etc but in a simpler way. Like I have Nexus 7 2013 and there is a tool called Wugfresh NexusTool Kit. It does all things by itself and I just have to download roms or update the ToolKit.
I do not want to try many roms or kernels to find a right one for me. So consider this as a review suggestion for Rom+Kernel Combo. Now, What I need is :
1a. Volte must work,
1b. FP must work,
1c. Xposed Framework should work for greenify/adaway etc (preferred choice)
1d. Battery should not drain more than stock else no point flashing custom rom for me.
1e. Signal should be stable & wifi/hotspot work without problem as I use this device solely for WifiHotspot.
1f. Should be stable but I can adjust with less important bugs like Reading Light, Lite Mode setting etc. I dont need them.
1g. Feature rich.
1h. Rom should use least resources/ram etc and have no bloatwares.
So, kindly help me in finding a stable Rom+Kernel combo. My device is Kenzo(Snapdragon) with the latest stock MIUI 8.1.1.0 Rom and FP is FPC. Also, I do not have micro sd card so I can take back up of phone on the phone itself. I would also like to know about the process of successfully using f2fs format on Note 3. So friends, I am awaiting your kind suggestions.
Thank you.

If you want Xposed, you can't have Nougat, there's no Xposed for it. Radon kernel and the ROM I linked to is a good combination.
You can try RR Remix Rom + Radon kernel. Its a great combo with lots of feature, good battery life and stable for daily use. If you want Xposed than flash MM version of RR Remix Rom cause Nougat Rom does not support Xposed as of now.

Thanks, but which rom supports substratum and vulcan, if not RR Remix?
And which Recovery would be good, ZCX or Official TWRP 3.0.2.2?

Hi, I just came to know that volte doesn't work on CM marshmallow properly, it is true?
As mentioned in the title, I'd like to know which is the best custom ROM option right now.
My device: RN3 SE (kate)
Depends on what your idea of "best" is:
Stability, battery life, speed or having the latest Android version.
You can't have them all in one ROM.
Mokee
there is no "best" rom!
each rom is made for people with different needs from a ROM! in stability and being fast most of them are almost the same because all are based on Lineage OS
Right now I stick to xiaomi.eu ROM. Everything works as expected. Lineage ROM suffers several camera and torch bugs.
Tired of trying Roms ?

I use LOS13 for over a month now and not only one bug found. It is much better than MIUI!

No, because it uses same source then MIUI! No bugs at all...
I would recommend you Resurrection Remix, if you want features and customisations, but NitrogenOS is also good, it has most stable camera among nougat roms.

Nitrogen OS O is equally stable and developer is muy activo in the development of the Rom.
Go with Nitrogen. You won't regret it.

FYI, there is no goodix support in Oreo yet, so if you have a goodix fingerprint reader, you will lose the ability to use it with Oreo at this time.

Nitrogen oreo is far from stable. It's a nice project but I tried it yesterday and I have so many bugs that I had to change rom. Odd, I have been running it for a week now as my daily and I haven't had any issues that would have me going back to Nougat.
I did have to do a complete wipe of the internal storage in order to get it installed properly. With just the standard TWRP wipe, I was getting constant google account issues using OpenGAPPS.

Definitely not maybe in a few months, we can have stable oreo. I had sim disconnections also some of the calls were not connected & random reboots so reverted back to Resurrection remix.
Note: I know oreo is in beta & reported some bugs I encountered but trust me the thread is toxic af, I'm never gonna recommend one to use Nitrogen

Some weird bug. Only needed to do that for the setup
For stability go with Lineage, not perceivably slower than nitrogen and **** not blowing up your face. Nitrogen ****ed me 5 times : sometimes it just randomly reboots, then bootloops and adb says "dalvik cache corrupted" and you have to fcking wipe everything to make it work again.

Any Nougat ROM. Xiaomi officially released Nougat sources for mido a few days ago, so expect even more stability as Nougat ROMs continue to update. I favour LOS myself, but I'm sure there are better ones out there (probably).

MoKee has been working perfectly for me on my Mi4 and now on RN4. It's very similar to LOS, but has built-in root and the ability fingerprint-secure an app. There's also an OTA updater and the whole thing is rock solid.

U can try omni rom .
it has delta updates
updates regularly on weekly basis
u can track the daily changelogs with the help of their pre loaded app
close to aosp with just the required features implemented
u dont have to worry about updating or flashing, everything is done by the updater app
Hope this is enough for you .

For me lineage 14.1 official is the best for stability speed and battery with franco kernel
AEX is good rom
MIUI based Rom, Multi Pro global stable Rom. The best in stability, battery and performance.

After installing TWRP just flash magisk zip. And you will get root.
And currently no pie RAM is stable enough as a daily driver. You can try AEX P. But if you want a completely stable daily driver then use this.
