Hi.
I don't know if this is the right place for posting or not. But I just wanted to share it with you guys.
I was a fan of Simple AOSP ROM on my Nexus 4 back in the day. According to me, it had all the essential features for a ROM.
Now I have switched to OP2. The development of OP2 was very slow in the early stages but now it has picked up pace.
Keeping that in mind, I want to request someone to please build this ROM for our OP2. Since I have no idea or the time to build it myself, I would love to see someone take this up.
Here is the official source code - https://github.com/SAOSP-M
Regards,
Reserved.
I'm not a developer myself but I do try and flash the roms on my OP2. Not sure if you yourself are a developer so please ignore if you already have checked these, but Paranoid android, Exodus are all aosp based.. and this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/orig-development/rom-aosp-caf-oneplus2-t3386553
I think is purely aosp-caf based.
I don't know if I'm out of line suggesting an alternative rom but, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/orig-development/rom-halogenos-oneplus-2-t3377799
Similar to the suggestion above but is way more current. June security update, beta 2 released today.
Has anyone tried picking up on the work tonystark has done in the past regarding CM 13? It seems to me that he made some good progress but he has been MIA since April.
Feel free to use this thread for anything regarding CyanogenMod development.
Currently, nobody has focused more on to that side of things but as we have full Marshmallow binaries, it will be much easier to develop and continue tonystark's progress. Also, it would be helpful if you would add a discussion tag as this thread will most likely be used for the development of CyanogenMod!

Sure , it's done
I could try compiling CyanogenMod with tonystark's sources on Github but I do not own the device anymore, so I would need testers

I could test it out when you compile
Good, i will keep you updated with what I have managed to do
I've omnified the tonystark's cm13 sources but I don't have time to deal with the lot of compiling issues, so if is there a developer with experience in Omnirom, feel free to use my sources or contact me

Is there any Chance that there will be a official cyanogenmod 14 for m4 aqua dual??
Hi all,
Now that CM is dead (RIP) and official Lineage OS for the Wileyfox Swift 2 has not yet happened, i've been looking into other alternative OS's that are compatible with the Wileyfox Swift 2 [marmite].
However i'm not seeing any that are compatible for this device (Resurrection Remix, Dirty Unicorn, LineageOS (yet) and wondered if anyone has had any experience with any other custom OS's that they know are compatible?
Thanks
There are none because there is no source code for this device. You must be patient and wait until Wileyfox releases (Before the end of this month?!) the promised Android 7.1 update, and hope they also release the source code with it.
I did several modifications to stock CyanogenOS 13.1 version for myself, but I found not worth it sharing that, since we're going to receive the new update really really soon. If the update is a disaster, or they do a OnePlus (release the update on the 31st, late in the night before the end of the month, and full of bugs), I'll consider sharing it. But until then, just wait for it.
Thanks for the update. :good::good:

Thats not true there is maybe not a source code but the chips inside the device (and drivers) are also used in other devices wich are so you can make roms for this device.
There are no roms because this phone isn't used by many peaple yet or the community isnt big at the moment for this device but we can port roms from the xiaomi redmi 3s for instance

WTF? Do you think that by having same CPU means we should have the very same source code? I know there's source code for the SD430 in codeaurora, and that Xiaomi released sources for land, but that doesn't mean anything. It'd require a lot of dirty and unnecessary stuff to get it working here (it's not only about the CPU, right?), and since Wileyfox is REQUIRED to release the source code (all OEMs are) we can avoid it by just waiting patiently. From there, building Lineage will be easier, but hey, if anyone wants to do the hard job, use land-m source code and try to port it, is free to do so!

Manufacturers need to release kernel source as it's under a GPL license, but Android itself is under the Apache License 2.0 and manufacturers are not required to release any source code. In fact the vast majority of manufacturers do not release any of their internal Android code.
And having kernel source does not magically allow you to make custom ROMs. In fact you shouldn't even need the manufacturers kernel source unless they are using some obscure hardware.

I know, but it's better having and working with it, isn't it? I know we will need to bring up a device tree, and that it's not that easy, but starting out of a good base is better than mixing sources from other phones, at least that's my opinion.
The kernel sources are already available for a long time (slowpokes?): https://bitbucket.org/wileyfox/kernel-wileyfox-msm8937

Oops. You made my day man. I swear I wasn't able to find that, I had no idea they published it already, they didn't mention it on social media, and whenever I asked them on the support chat they were like "Sorry, we don't have that".

Because I do not think that the public (where most users are not geeks, probably) will be interested in the post that the developers have released the source code of the kernel. Or someone beforehand, before closing Cyanogen Inc, released the source code for the kernel. And support is usually not answered to such questions, because they do not have such information.
But in any case you need the information you need to find in all available ways.
I'm looking into the possibility of getting Resurrection Remix Marshmallow AOSP ROM running on the Galaxy A5 2017 device of Model Number(s):
A520F (Single SIM Variant)
A520F/DS (Dual SIM Variant)
I've made time available on my hands as i'm a fan of the ROM and it would be great running it up and functional on this device.
I'm hoping this post increases popularity as to attract experienced developers so i can get all the help i need since building an AOSP ROM such as Resurrection Remix from sctrach is very challenging and time consuming.
The Official A5 2017 AOSP (Devs Only) Whatsapp Group is available for all of the developers who would like to join it in helping me bring this Project to life. If your interested in joining and helping, simply post down below your intention in doing so along with your International Contact Number.
Btw here's the Resurrection OS Marshmallow Source:
https://github.com/ResurrectionRemix/platform_manifest/blob/marshmallow/README.mkdn
And here's our device's kernel source which was released by Samsung:
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=A520F
I wanna too, for A3 2017
Wasn't there something on the Whatsapp group about collecting donations for an experienced dev to buy this phone so he could port the rom? I would love to see Resurrection Remix on my A520W. Maybe if a post was made on the forum about donating, more people would see it.
I think that it's will be never possible ,because "Exynox" cpu (drivers problems.....like others devices, like some galaxy note...) ...
But it was truth in the past ....and maybe i was wrong now ,i don't know the last development ...

Ha ok ,good new for source .:good:
And yes...pity...samsung (exept "s" series) is less and less interested ...
In the past i loved customs roms but now it's maybe good for low and some middle devices but i think that it's a good "regression" ,we loose some good stock options and functiins (like finger print...etc...)... don't have the full exploitation of photo ...less performance.....etc...(samsung stock patent !!!) But yes....with some customs we can change the size, position and color of the hour,battery...etc...lol ! And cm/lineage sourced is not as "stable" as stock firmware ...
Lineage OS in on the horizon. Maybe this will help inspire other developers to take up the Resurrection Remix project or develop their own custom ROMs. But good things are coming in the future.

Well I'm in this group and it's been brought up a few times ⟶ https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series-2017/how-to/galaxy-a5-2017-whatsapp-t3561455
Maybe hit up the OP and see if you could get in on the action.

I see the thread has been closed and no more users are being added to the group, how can we keep up to date? I'm very interested in this phone but I'm holding back until I can see that LineageOS has a developer/maintainer.

If you hit me up on WhatsApp I can try and get the OP to add you to the group. I'll talk to him that you're interested in helping out with the development of Lineage. But once Nougat drops, I think the resources will be available on GitHub.
I hope install the rom too man. a5 a520f/ds.

Hi,
I found out today that Xiaomi released the Kernel source code for this device, and you may find it at the following address:
GitHub - MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource at lancelot-q-oss
Xiaomi Mobile Phone Kernel OpenSource. Contribute to MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource development by creating an account on GitHub.

Hold your horses!
It's too early to speak about custom ROMs, this information is mostly useful for developers. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best in the meanwhile.
Cheers!
Do you think sir redmi 9 community is large enough to have custom roms?

Yes and already we made custom kernal
Hope we will get many "real" custom ROMs for this device soon
Congratulations to the redmi 9 community, this phone really need custom roms as that will tell helio G80 real potential. Xiaomi has really great phone but miui heavy skin ruin it to the ground
Me too
