Dear Friends,
Please help to solve this problem. I have set a password instead of PIN-code on my phone Redmi Note 4 MTK. The password was difficult and included 3 words with spaces, I confirmed it and everything was normal. However, after reboot the password was incorrect.
How can I reset the password or get access to the data on the phone?
Your only option here is to perform a full wipe via recovery.

after factory reset Redmi Note 3 I got message This device is locked
When I want to unlock it, I see MI account that is not mine.
I tried with MADtool, Miko tool, MIflash.... it works to the point where I insert SIM card or connect to wifi, after that I recieve message again -This device is locked -
MIUI veriosn is 10

So whose device is it? Second hand device?
If this is a second hand device, previous owner will have to provide you with his MI account login credentials.

my wife has lost his password, and login of Micloud and we need to reset the phone to factory .... so how i can do it ?
Can i change rom with a custom rom ?

In the case you can´t enter to main screen so Miui avoids it asking for password to logging in by factory resetting won´t solve the issue.
The way to factory reset/format data is entering to stock recovery; with device power off then pressing pwr+vol up and there you will find this option.
You can change the rom that you want firsly unlocking bootloader but you need to logging in to Miui account and bind it succesfully with device.
There are options to recover password in Miui´s site.

I have a Redmi Note 4 Mediatek, bought in China. I used it till Q1 2018, after flashing a global rom (thanks to cofface tutorial on this forum).
I want to reset it but I forgot my mi account password and do not have anymore the phone number I used to create it. (shame on me, I didn't set email or phone recovery). I tried to ask for manual reset on Xiaomi website but it always get rejected (I don't know why). However I still remember my phone password so I can access the settings.
Then I wanted to reset it through TWRP, but I am unable to enter recovery mode, my display shows the device + a cable plugged in... and nothing happens...
I tried reflashing TWRP but it didn't change anything.
Any idea how I could solve this ?

So long story short I was in a rush and formated my phone without loging out of my mi account now I cant unlock or without thé acc password I dont have thé sim card to reset m'y password neither dis I set a recover méthode so if someone hère have a solution please help me out, I have all thé phone paper and box do dont worry its not stolen and I was thinking about installing a custom rom instead of thé official one to get past thé micloud

how am i supposed to delet the phone when i cant even acces the mi account ?
i would just type the password and unlock it if i just could do that

when i formated the phone it was logged in the mi account for over 4 months or more only used it once when i trying to unlock the bootloader ''wish i did'' and by the time i formated my phone i forgot the password and dont have the sim used to register, i didnt even expect the phone to ask for the mi account when reseting from the setting menu
On xiaomi cloud login
