I'm kind of a newb when it comes to things like these but i perfectly understand how to get things done so.. Here goes.
I have an S5 running on Popwiz Telstra.
Android Version is 5.1.1 Lollipop (but based off Marshmallow).
My phone is rooted and has everything a person attempting to do this would need.
Everything is backed up to a safe point through TWRP.
Every single time I try to flash the Xposed module through TWRP, i get my phone into a soft-brick where i have no other option but to uninstall through the same means.
The Framework Installer claims that my processor type isn't compatible. The extension is armv7.
I know I'm using the right files. Is there anything else I could do? Should I change roms?

Im using stock 5.0.2 rooted rom on my A3 (A300FU).
The question being said is how to remove those annoying two little buttons on the dropdown menu?
Removing the apk's related is already done but those silly buttons still appear.
Any working solution to this?
Thanks in advance! :good:
Use xposed module wanam xposed for hide that things.
Very nice walkthrough!
Have you tried it yourself?
Two methods exist.
The first is the already mentioned above, Wanam Xposed module, which of course depends on Xposed Framework, and root.
2nd method is, decompiling the SystemUI.apk, finding those two entries, and delete them.
1st method may be a bit complicated on the phone, while the 2nd is complicated on the PC.
I'd recommend the first one too, just make sure if you need Knox 0x0 or not...
Could you give me some more info on 1st method?
(I can try the 2nd method on my PC but i have no idea on how to compile/decompile)
P.S. Knox tripping can be reset as far as i'm concerned with Triangle away, right?
I have found extremely simple tutorial for Note 4 but it worked for my A300FU too. Your phone has to be rooted obviously.
Go to /system/etc/permissions/ and find the file called com.sec.feature.findo.xml and simply rename it (I simply added .old extension). Reboot and smile. No need for Xposed or decompiling something.
Knox apparently is a hardware eFuse, but i never bothered going deep in to it as i never cared honestly.
1st method.
1a, Flash TWRP, flash latest Beta SuperSU, flash arters v79 test version of xposed framework, and install Xposed Installer as a normal apk.
Ofc a clear cache/dalvik is always good after all these flashes.
1b. Flash CF-Autoroot, install Flashfire, flash arters v79 test version of xposed woth flashfire, install Xposed Installer.
I prefer 1a btw...
You're on Lollipop 5.0.2 ??
Alright. You're a legend!!!
Your comment gets an upvote. It worked on 5.0.2.
A billion of thanks!!!
You're welcome!
Worked for me, tanks!
Based on my experiences setting up this phone (Samsung SM-A500W ie A5) I thought I'd share what worked for me for the Canadians out there as there isn't too much info. Originally started with a stock Rogers ROM on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) with baseband A500WVLU1A0J3.
To root, follow instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/help/samsung-sm-a500w-t3333196
KingRoot followed by SuperSU Me worked perfectly and afterwards it was not necessary to do anything (like remove or disable KingRoot applications, etc). This allowed me to install AdAway and other root-only apps.
Installing a custom recovery worked multiple ways - see here for twrp: http://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/general/to-port-twrp-to-galaxy-a5-a500fu-t3150843
I got TWRP (both 2.x and 3.x versions) to install using both Flashify method and Odin.
I also wanted to install the Xposed Framework on there and long story short ended up soft bricking the phone (oops - was trying to increase free space on System ROM and deleted stuff I shouldn't have). Stock ROMs for this phone can be found here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-A500W/ or here: https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-A500W/
I did manage to get Xposed Framework installed without deodexed ROM using instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/general/tuto-xposed-odex-rom-yes-knox-0x0-t3316688
I used Option 1 (knox tripped since i didn't care about warranty) and it worked perfectly. Had some trouble clearing 500MB on System ROM as noted but with deleting apps I could install later or didn't want managed to get it there. Don't delete Google Play or Play Services!!
Hopefully this helps some of you.
Thanks man! Hopefully someone comes out with a custom ROM or this device!
Looking at the TWRP, there doesn't seem to be a specific mention for the A500W variant. Which version were you able to successfully flash onto your device?
I can't recall exactly which one I installed. I am pretty sure the only difference between the models (F/FU/H/L, etc) is the countries in which they are released. The W variant is the Canadian one, thus has the Canadian radio band support. I was thinking of trying to install one of the ROMS and see if it works, as I am not currently using the phone for cellular service.
I'm rooted, 5.1 with lollipop and I am desperate for answers as to why this has to be rocket science just to put Framework on Xposed. Sorry if this is the wrong section, I don't have the patience right now to make a ton of posts just to meet the requirements for whatever reason. But anyways, does anyone have a solution to my problem?
Its no different than any other phone. The only twist is unrelated to xposed in that you need Quick Boot or my favorite NeoPowerMenu to boot to TWRP.
You could use FlashFire but if the above is a foreign language id suggest doing it that way. You can save a future post and time on how to boot to recovery and flash the uninstaller if Xposed boot loops you.
Im using v85 and has been working on my K7, v86 works good on my moto but ive heard of a few k7s having issues with 86.
what version of xposed are you running? terminal emulator x v2 keeps auto downloading armeabi-v7a and it says its for the wrong phone.. i can flash manually but i dont know what xposed to get
Someone help me out really quick, cause I'm too dumb to find a fix. So I wanted to install Xposed once again on my piece of **** Samsung Galaxy S5, running 6.0.1. Have it rooted, got TWRP. Spend 25 years reading up on all the wonderful ways you can install Xposed with varying degrees of failure. Decide to go with method 9, get my 2 framework zips (main thing and uninstaller, "xposed-v87-sdk23-arm" & "xposed-uninstaller-20160829-arm") and the apk. Got the 3.1.1 apk from this official thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
And the 2 zips from here:
http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk23/arm/
http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/uninstaller/
Slap them on my phone, install the apk first, says my Samsung phone is cursed ("there seems to be a known issue with your ROM", "Samsung TouchWiz ROM"), and that installing Xposed could lead to SEVERE problems. Clicking on the link given gets me to the thread above again:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
I proceed to read through 5 pages of tech speak without seeing anything that could lead me to a link for my Samsung version. So instead I just boot into TWRP recovery, flash the framework zip and reboot. Naturally, nothing worked and my phone finds itself in an endless bootloop of the Samsung logo. Take battery out, reboot into recovery, flash the uninstaller file, reboot, everything is fine, but Xposed is still not installed.
TL;DR Someone put me out of my misery and tell me/show me where I can find an official Xposed firmware zip that will work on a Samsung phone running 6.0.1. Am I the only idiot that can't do it properly?
