First of all, I can't yet post in the development section, so I'll post here.
AOSP ICS by Polish Blood for mt11i is a great release and deserves lots of support
Now for the issues:
Extremely high battery drain: 65% in 9 hours (overnight, no usage, phone locked)! Battery details (if I read them correctly) say its mobile network signal. But I've disabled 3g and data. It's a clean, just installed kernel+rom on a freshly rooted phone with unlocked bootloader. No apps.
Also, if I disable the google search service to get rid of the search bar on my homescreens, It pops back up after I use the camera (but in a nonworking state).

Discharge battery completely, and then recharge it few times, because the battery needs to accomodate with new os.Do not use live wallpaper, because it drain your battery very quickly.About the search bar issue,i've tried to disable it,and i have no problem, after using camera,it doesn't reappeared. You can also try another kernel (i reccomend xneo aokp version from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630532).
thanks, will definitely try that.
Also, I used to have some live wallpapers on on 2.3.4 and it didn't have much impact on the battery life.
As for the google search bar I've just successfully reproduced that two times in a row. Reenabled google search (went to home screen, it worked) then disabled it (went to home screen, it disappeared), then activated the camera (sidepanel button) zommed in a bit, unzoomed. And bam - the search bar is back on the home screen, but in a nonworking state. Did everything again with identical result.
not sure what might have caused it, but the search bar is gone. I wish there was a way to reclaim the space reserved for it...
You can't use it,because that space is reserved only for search bar. This is the way Google made it.
that doesn't stop me from wishing it wasn't so : ] but enough with pointless chit-chat.
Spent half a day trying to get the mms to work. It was configured correctly and the data was on (what a pain, gingerbread was a lot better in that aspect - data off didnt mean disabling mms).
It worked right away when I reflashed the phone without the rootfix. Once I applied that - it kinda works... but not really good. I was unable to properly receive an mms containing a contact, and seemed to randomly fail while sending images through mms. So sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Also, even though one of my test mmses was delivered, the report for it (enabled it in preferences) was "pending".
I'm going to test it further tomorrow.
EDIT: even more problems:
the light sensor doesn't seem to work (no reaction if screen brightness set to auto)
cant test it from the service menu because I cant access the service menu. Once I write in the code *#*#7378423#*#* through phone, the code disappears and nothing seems to happen.
i wonder if this rom includes xloud and Bravia engine, because the developer mentioned them in the #43 reply in the neo V section.

apart from this being offtopic, I don't see a xLoud setting within settings\sound, so it would be a good guess no it doesn't.
as for the BRAVIA - if You have an idea how to check it, I'll look.
Now back to the topic:
list of problems so far:
heavy battery drain - unsolved, tried:
changing baseband (tried 64 and 70),
disabling everything I could,
fully discharging then charging while phone was off,
discharging to exactly 50% then unplugging the batttery for 5 minutes, then charging the switched off phone for at least 5 hrs
issues with mms (random failures to send and failures to receive; erroneus reports (pending while message was delivered); failure to receive contact via mms (notification of a new message, opening messages and... there is an empty message or no message at all))
google search bar randomly reappears in a disabled state (if I tried to get rid of it by disabling google search in settings\apps)
issue with bluetooth (Tested with s8500GT wave @ bada 1.2, worked well before flashing to 4.0.4 by PolishBlood) - phone is not correctly recognized as a phone. I can pair it and a connection is seemingly established, but I cant, for example, send a contact via BT (from s8500 to neoV)
can't access service menu (the code just disappears after entering it via phone, nothing happens)
ambient light sensor does not seem to work (or the A brightness setting doesn't)
issue with messaging: while playing music i've answered a message (phone horizontal) in a conversation. The message i've sent is not displayed once I open the conversation, but it is visible as the last message in the conversations list
if I set the data warning & limit to 0, the Data usage app crashes and will not let me re-enter it (if I try, it just goes back to homescreen)
hope this topic finally gets to be noticed by PolishBlood devs,
generalnie świetna robota i jak najbardziej warta pochwały :]
For the heavy battery drain, try to use XNeo kernel. The ambient light sensor works ok for me,I don't know why you have problems with it.
Sent from my Sony Xperia Neo using XDA
try to use another kernel , not the one provided in the ROM
After several days of usage the battery drain dropped (i'll keep using it to determine whether its an acceptable level).
sometimes the phone will do 14 hours eating only 30 hours of battery and sometimes, for no apparent reason and absolutely no change in usage, it will drain half of it in 6 hrs. So "unstable" would be the best word to describe the battery drain.
Still can't access service menu, still have problems with mms.
i love this room.
my problem is: i cant take photos in 8mpx!
my wifi doesnt work anymore. my phone conect, salve, disconnect, getting ip, connect, salve, disconnect, getting ip.....

my phone did that too when the wifi signal wasn't too good, but once it got IP it was rock solid. Hm...
As for my case, the brightness sensor apparently works (most of the time and if I dont touch the brightness control key on the power widget - then it just stops). All other issues are still in place. Power consumption often shifts from really low to insanely high for no apparent reason. Battery app shows its network and awake (but the phone is locked most of the time with its screen off)
i never get ip. and when i set ip manally it drops the connection every 30 seconds...
can i change my kernel with AOSP? AOSP only works with AOSP kernel, or not?
i don't want to start a new thread, so I'll ask here:
Does anyone found working Phone.apk with Polish Blood Project other than the original one from the ROM ?
I just wanted to post on the XDA forums that there is a thread to help determine what is causing the "heat + battery drain" issue(s) on the Lumia 920.
http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nok...n-ATT-Overheats-Battery-Draining/td-p/1606012
Specifically, we've seen fairly normal battery drain when using applications, but when LTE data is introduced the battery continues to drain at a rate of 7-8% per hour even after the applications are closed. For example, streaming something like Xbox Music or Netflix over the LTE connection (wifi OFF), the phone warms up considerably and the battery continues to drain at a high rate even after those applications are closed. The same applications behave normally over 3G or Wifi, and the battery drain is not present afterward.
The "fix" so far appears to be disabling LTE altogether.
• Open Dialer
• Punch in ##3282 and hit Call
• At the Field Test menu, choose more options via the three dots (lower right)
• Select Settings
• Under network type, select "3G only". UMTS should be set to "Automatic".
• Change the "Toggle ENS" setting to OFF
• Back out, power off the phone, and power on again
Definitely interested in hearing other's reports on this issue. Specifically, does this happen with ALL Lumia 920 phones? Is this specific to this particular model phone? Is this a Nokia issue, LTE chip issue, or WP8 issue? Was this introduced with the Portico update?
Thanks.
Upon further testing.........
Disabling LTE is *not* the ultimate fix. Yes, it does help keep the battery drain down to more reasonable levels, but it does not solve the problem. I've subsequently tested with the little brother phone -- the Lumia 820 -- to see if the issue is on all WP8 handsets, on all Lumia phones, or even limited to post-Portico update phones (in other words, did Portico make this issue).
After some thorough testing, I can say with confidence that this issue is specific to the Lumia 920 and not necessarily all WP8 handsets or Lumia phones.
Detailed thread here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nok...Overheats-Battery-Draining/m-p/1795212#M43837
I am currently working with Nokia to find a long-term resolution to this issue.
Please keep us updated, I'm very interested in knowing how to fix this problem! ??
I found that disabling bluetooth helps out.
Battery drain
To help reduce battery drain I do the following on my WP
I get a connectivity shortcut app. There are a few options available in the store. Anyway I pin airplane mode, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Location on my home screen and turn them off when I'm not using them. Turning off location turns of GPS, so you must enable it before launching Drive/Here. A lot of battery issues I think have to do with the phone being to aggressive (power wise) trying to search for signal. Whether its Wi-Fi a Bluetooth device, etc. I also disable Tap+Send (NFC) because I never use it.
And I go into background tasks and I block every single app from running in the background except the ones I am sure I want to run. Remeber the list where you can block them is for apps that want to run on a timed schedule, they can still run in the BG if you home screen out of them. For me the only one I allow is MS Weather (for the live tile). Disabling Nokia Drive/Here seems to help battery life for some people.
The biggest battery saver I did was forwarding my other email accounts (Gmail & Yahoo!) to Outlook.com, and then set that to only look every 1 hour (instead of the stock 30 minutes). My phone went from lasting 1 - 1.5 days to over 2.5 - 3 days with my typical usage (light usage).
I try not to use Live Tiles, or lock screen pictures unless I really want them (like weather for instance), as they help drain the battery quicker.
Anyway Nokia is really on top of their game so I think they will help contribute to WP to eliminate these issues. The only non-software related issue with the 920 is the dust in the FFC, which personally does not bother me but I could see how it might bother others.
##3282 isn't working for me after yesterday's update. Lets see how I do with the battery today!!!
The earpiece on mine does not work I can't hear anyone and top of phone gets warm I have sent it to nokia repair.

Thanks for the tip!
I also have 5-8% per hour drain. (actual offi. release .1308...)
all off, sync, loaction, WLAN every thing, fresh reboot, phone on my desk, not working with it, about 2 lines H signal.
when i switch to airplane mode....1-2% battery drain over a complete night!
its also no problem to activate airplane mode ON and afterwards WLAN additionally ON, then about 1-4% over a night!
i tried everything i found on the inet.
and i have my white L920 since Dec.12! (i did a "hard" update over PC in Feb. and also the the last release over the air...nothing changed)
so now i'm checking if this works for me and post results
I'm located in AUT with an unlocked, unbranded GER L920.
and we dont have LTE til now...maybee thats the problem..?!

That is great. To bad that we whom have received the latest OTA no longer have access to that menu.
really?
I'm on FW 1232.5957.1308.0001
and WPH 8.0.10211.204
I don't need to change the network type within ##3282 menu, also worked for me in normal network settings.

So then how do you set your network speed?
u don't need access to ##3282...its also possible to "limit" within settings/network. (##3282 NOT working within f.e. Rapdialer!!)
I limit it to "2G" only when its more importand to have less battery consumption than inet speed
limited to "2G" in my region it shows me afterwards a "E" on top.
On this PIC i found in the inet is "roaming" deactivated.
I have to activate "roaming" also when I'm within my own network to have inet access (and the "E").
In my town, network operators share their mobile radio transmitters.
I limited direktly at my provider the access to a "real roaming network" for example a swiss network.
Because i'm most of the time near the border
maybee not possible in your version or provider?
I'm on a free GER version.
Definitely trying this tonight.
For the battery drain try light (white) theme. intresting but that help my battery drain problem

My experience is that, I reset the cellphone and after doing this twice and connecting to the internet and waiting for one hour, Microsoft gave me an update for my battery saver and since that time everything is ok, including the battery. I always believed that the updates have problems to be installed completely most of the time, so it's better to reset or download it via the computer and instal it with a cable( using Nokia Software Update). But if it doesn't work, please don't panic. The updates are coming and just be sure that you have reset your device without choosing the setting backup, for you must start afresh. Good Luck.
Hello, folks!
I have a rooted I9100 (Android 4.0.3 stock from Vivo, baseband I9100VILP3, kernel 3.0.15-I9100VJLP7-CL371396 [email protected] #3, compilation IML74K.VJLP7, CSC I9100UVILP3).
Sometimes I have problems turning on WiFi, it keeps always turning on and neither become active nor allow me to turn it off again. I then need to reboot phone to fix it (when it reboots, WiFi comes turned on and gets on normally).
Another problem I have with it is that sometimes (average of 4 - 5 times a day) phone loses registration with carrier. It completely loses* signal and shows a "prohibited" icon where signal strength is shown at status bar. (Edit) Sometimes it comes back again in a few seconds and sometimes it stays at that state, making me have to reboot it to fix the problem (turning on and off airplane mode doesn't work; in fact, with registration lost and trying to use airplane mode, it doesn't turn off and only fixes with reboot).
*Actually, it doesn't lose signal (can be seen in "settings - about phone - state" screen uploaded), but only unregisters from carrier.
(Edit: screen/phone language is Brazilian Portuguese)
I've downloaded another modem driver but never had time to test it.
I don't know if both problems can have the same cause, but both of them are very annoying (especially signal loss) and I'd like to make some tries to fix them, so if anyone knows what can I do (even data collection to investigate them), your help is very appreciated.
Thanks
Additional test (ServiceMode)
When I was in the forum to post this thread, I've noticed this other thread and I've decided to use ServiceMode code (*#0011#) to investigate further at the next time my cell lose signal. Unfortunately, it showed absolutely nothing. Literally nothing (just "ServiceMode" caption and no text on the screen below).
I just spent the time to post this because I know that, even if it has shown no information (on screen), maybe it still can be a clue for the cause of the problem.
Thanks
Pls help!
Does anyone have some light to shed on this case?
Please, I do really need to fix it, at least the signal loss problem.
Thanks.
Same Issue in the US on Tmobile
Mine started doing this just a day or two ago. Exact same issue. I can kind of operate on the EDGE network but 4G fails, only WiFi seems to work. T-mobile doesn't seem to have a fix for it.
Changed to MIUI
I've just changed to MIUI (reflashed modem also – now it is ZSLPE instead of previous VILP3).
I still have issues with carrier register loss, but until now it always reconnected after a few seconds. Maybe it is a carrier issue and not a phone one.
I don't turn on WiFi a lot, but all times I've tested it, it worked well.
Another thing I've noticed with this change is that battery temperature while charging used to reach 48°C (118°F) or even 50°C (122°F) while battery level was low (less than 50%), but now it stayed around 35°C (95°F), which is completely acceptable.
I have a Moto Z Force (Droid), and got the OTA update for Nougat about a week ago (build NCL25.86-11). Since the update, I've had a lot of problems:
* Wifi issues: Right now my phone can't see any of the 10 or so access points near my house.
* Bluetooth Audio issues: Frequent skips listening to audio over bluetooth (every several minutes)
* Background Sync issues: Hangouts no longer syncs in the background, and Facebook seems to have occasional syncing issues. I get no Hangouts notifications at all (until I open the app), and my Facebook notifications are sometimes missing or delayed.
I think I may be having battery life issues with my Incipio battery Moto Mod, but I'm not sure about that.
Also, I can't remember if I tried this before the Nougat update, but when I'm using bluetooth and use voice commands to play music, all further bluetooth media plays back at extremely low (nearly inaudible) volume, even with bluetooth volume turned all the way to max, and I have to disconnect and reconnect to bluetooth to get normal volume on anything again.
I've tried multiple reboots, and a cache wipe. I'm pretty close to doing a factory reset, but was wondering if anyone else is experiencing these issues.
I am definitely seeing the Bluetooth audio skip - I downloaded my album off google play and had the same effect (verifies it isnt data connection). Skips and stutters on all audio - Pandora, Google Play, etc...
I have noticed WiFi issues - drops connection and comes back up
also getting zero notifications on apps.
Another issue I am seeing is the screen locking and becoming unresponsive - couple threads I have seen suggest this is caused by certain apps - so I am having to boot in safe mode and turn them on one at a time - friggin painstaking.
Definitely starting to miss my Note 5
By now I've no 7, but did you try to do a factory reset? I had similar problems with LG devices when upgrading vom 5 to 6. A factory reset resolved them completely. No fun to so so but ...
I've only experienced the Bluetooth issues. They went away after a reboot though.
Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
I have absolutely no Bluetooth, cannot see or be seen by any other device. I'm exchanging it tomorrow.
Looks like my Wifi issue is not a Moto Z specific issue - it's happening exactly as described in this Nexus/Nougat forum post:
Code:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/Qbeb7ZP0wOw
Perform a factory reset, then see where you are. Factory resets aren't as bad as the "old" days. You can pick your backup image date from the Google Welcome menu screens as you set the phone back up. If you use Nova launcher, import your saved desktop back up.
I've had the Bluetooth Audio skips as well. I also cannot use my camera about 75% of the time. It gives me the Camera error, Please restart the Camera app. I did a FDR and issues are still present.
Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
wifi is slow used to get 218 megs down now only 136 down
I can add an other Bluetoorh issue. When I'm listening to podcasts while the phone is connected to the audio system of my car and I get interrupted by a phone call (which is also routed to the audio system of my car) after the call ends audio play back resumes for about half a second and the stops. I've to start it manually on the phone to resume. The podcast app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bambuna.podcastaddict) is in paused state.
I'm definitely seeing WiFi drops and battery drain and heat issues with my Tumi battery mod. Also seeing screen freezes requiring a power button reset. Am getting very close to factory resetting.
I'm having problems going from WiFi to data. If I boot up the phone, it establishes a data connection. After Wifi is turned on, data permanently turns off and can't be reconnected without restarting the phone.
Note that I am using the phone overseas with a domestic (Japanese) sim card. Just last week however, I was using a Moto Z Droid Play and had no problems whatsoever. The standard Moto Z Droid has more Lte bands as well, so this shouldn't be happening.
I'm assuming it's a problem with WiFi to Lte handover related to Nougat?

Fix for wrong default APN Settings for O2 on Android 7.0 Nougat
After Upgrade to Android 7.0 mobile data did not work on german O2 Network.
After some research i found the right APN Option:
MVNO-Type have to be changed from IMSI auf „Keine“
Source: Giga.de - Android 5.0 Lollipop-Bugs & Probleme: Lautlosmodus, WLAN, Videowiedergabe & mehr [Ãœbersicht]
After that change another apn appeared called "O2 Internet", selecting it and LTE started to work as expected.
Hope that's help someone.
And here I was thinking this was the smoothest update on any Android phone I've received. I have no issues at all, didn't factory reset either. I also listen to podcast all the time over bluetooth, and never once did it skip. Maybe it's google music issues?
Also battery life has gotten much better.
Bluetooth disconnected issues for me via car Bluetooth since update.
any one having problems with sound cutting out on the phone only way to get sound back is by rebooting ?????????
I think the issues I'm seeing are due to overheating. Seems to happen after the battery pack charging kicks in at 80%. Anyone else notice this?
For the BT skipping/noise, turn off BT and turn it back on. That fixes it for me.
Don't know what's triggering it, though.
Since 5 days I got this problem: my wifi antenna seems to be broken, safely no software problem because it was on all ROMs with a complete clean install.
First, the wifi was only working after reboot and then stucked again (couldnt turn OFF wifi or connection), then 1 day later wifi wasnt working at all and I couldnt turn on/off wifi. (when you want to turn on/off then UI crashes on RR Oreo)
+ I got some strange bluetooth and SIM-detection problems (no bluetooth/mobile connection) but just sometimes?
So i replaced the Wifi-Antenna which is very easy (only battery removal). I replaced it with an new OEM antenna that worked for about 6 hours
+Bluetooth and mobile connection were fine again, Z2 runs very smooth, no wifi/bluetooth problems.
And then about 6h later my wifi has again these first problems (short connection after reboot then dead).
Bluetooth problems are with there already
Does anyone have an idea what caused this problem again?
I hope someone knows a solution otherwise I'm about to quit the great Z2 community
Cheers
