Attacking Samsung on twitter - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 General

I guess attacking samsung on twitter with questions why a3 2016 (exynos) has only 4 cores enabled is not a smart idea
SPOILER they have no commend its still fun though
https://twitter.com/SamsungHelpUK/status/833696828843503616

LoL
But did you think about asking that question direct to Samsung, not just Samsung help UK.
Think that they can give you more information about that.
Maybe UK help central doesn't know all hardware information.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 10.1 I/O Limited Edition update to 3.1

Does anyone have news on when we are getting this update?
Now that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is going on sale officially in NYC on June 8 WITH 3.1, I hope it is soon!
I just emailed the Samsung dev email from the Google I/O Device page. Hopefully I receive a meaningful response.

Not very nice support for devs...
10.1 I/o Edition
Guys ...I cant install adobe flash on my tablet and some of the apps from market are not visible and or wont install.. any ideas ?
I guess nobody got any luck in response. I say all that receive there Limited Edition 10.1 email Samsung until they put a press release or reply to someone. This is so unprofessional on there behalf.
I did and will everyday til i get something,,,,logic would dictate there is not going ot be an update for 3.1 since all the tabs coming out have it so hopefully they do something or it will be avail to load once the tabs come out

Not compatible with tablets.
I have the galaxy tab 10.1V and had no issue with my flash installation, so not sure why you say it isnt compatible with tablets
I got an e-mail from Samsung stating they have no idea when will the google IO limited edition tab will get an OTA update. Will post the e-mail here shortyl.

Flasg IS compatible with tablets
I think happilyaccosted was more referring to why some apps don't show up in the market on a tablet when he said "not compatible with tablets" and not that Flash wasn't compatible.

If there is no OTA on Wednesday when the retail model is released, I assume it won't be long before someone who got one in NYC posts a system dump.

Which I agree.. Just don't understand as to why these where handed out to developers when its design to be tested for 3.1.... Especially when there is no option for United States OTA.

I think part of the reason it was handed out (besides publicity for Samsung) was to get some developers a real 3.X device to do any development on, and write some app, any app. Google needs Honeycomb apps up on the market, bad. At that point not having 3.1 yet isn't that big a deal. The Honeycomb emulator is a pile of suck and Google admitted as much at the conference, so this is a way to get people making stuff.
And if they can't directly OTA these things up to 3.1 from the gimped version of 3.0 that's on them right now, that doesn't seem like that big a deal. Google/Samsung can always email people instructions to go flash a zip; if you got on a plane to SF to go to an Android developer conference then an "adb push" and reboot should be a piece of cake for you

Samsung Galaxy Note II Retail Mode

I found this app in Samsung Apps for my Galaxy Note I and it had some really cool features so once I received my Galaxy Note II on October 1st and initially searched SA's to see if they were releasing the app for our Note II's.
Finally on October 16th Samsung finally released version 1.1.1. Be aware this is strictly for the Note II. I searched the entire SGN2 forum(s) to check if this was already posted and I didn't find a thing about it. I also wanted to see if anybody knew what this app is - again I found nothing.
So in the spirit of sharing without DRAMA (this is NOT a necessary app for all you nasty trolls out there who always seem to make rude and absurd comments) this is for all you who enjoy the perks of owning the coolest devices in the world.
I hope this downloads properly but if there is a problem let me know and I'll be glad to send it to anyone who asks. The only problem some of you may have is the size of the download, 86.93MB's. It'll be available on Google Drive within the hour. For those wanting it from Samsung just search "Retail Mode for Galaxy Note 2".
10/30 - UPDATE
I've tried to attach the link to download this app but for some reason I can't post attachments in my XDA Premium. I just posted this app simply because it's cool, fun, and the perfect answer to all those jealous iFanatics. And you will get immature comments and questions from every nosy butthead quizzing you about this BEAST. I don't say a word until AFTER they've seen the demos - actually they still ask if it really does all of that.
The Multi-Window screen shuts them up fast!
Yes, it does change a couple of settings and YES, you can retain the settings you had prior to install. There are a few tutorials videos within the app for those who are the brink of buying or for those who've never used a Galaxy Note before.
I never said it was necessary or needed, again I simply thought/think it's a cool. There was/is an app for the original Galaxy Note which serves the same purpose as this app does for this BEAST.It's just a fun, informative, and cool app to have around when you get those dumb, rude comments out of nothing more than pure jealousy.

what's the name of the app? Your post is confusing.

It does sound like a fun thing to download. I will give it a try.

Do you mind sharing a link to the file? It's not showing up in my copy of SA
Download Retail Mode for Galaxy Note 2 at Samsung Apps.
Search for “Retail Mode for Galaxy Note 2″.
Install it and enter 5444 as password (Change password if you like)..
Enable service.
And you are ready to show off your powerful Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Have a FUN!
Nice app but ur post is slightly misleading because you say features. This app is mainly meant as a demo mode interface. So triggering this app causes the note 2 to launch the demo mode (toggled from the app settings by enabling the service) and the device portrays the functionality of the Note 2 just like how u see in a store. So that's what its for. Its fun. But not exactly useful. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.

It's the application that the demo unit runs in store.
It's been around since Samsung Galaxy S1 for each Galaxy S phone (GS1, GS2, GS3) in Samsung Apps Store. I always installed it to show it to my friends
Searched and found this
Code:
[FAQs] Smart Phone : : What is the retail mode for Galaxy S2 in Samsung Apps?
A : It is for use in retail shop only for Marketing purposes –
For Customers: Do not download and install this application.
If this application activated, some functions like as screen lock &
screensaver are removed and it is not possible to restore them.
End-user / Customer does not need this tool. To prevent his use, there is a warning message and a password
setting requirement.
so not sure if that true or not
anyway thanks bro :good:
after i used the retail mode..

i'm not sure what you consider to be cool and please dont take any offence by this reply, but this software is not cool it will **** you phone/tablet up, its used for LDU (local display units)
when you see a tablet/phone in a shop and its flashing through images of what the device can do that this app but it does so much more, blocks the lock screen can block wifi/bluetooth/3g has hunderds of permissions makes itself a device admin and worst of all rests your device every 24hrs
as i said i mean no offence and the only reason i have replyed is i was looking how to unistall this ****ing software and stumbled upon your post, i was sold a tablet with the software hardcoded TRUST ME YOU DONT WANT IT its a ***** to get rid of when its installed
I agree and I disagree!
YES I agree with just about EVERYTHING you're saying, I just wanted to point out that I DID in fact warn those who'd install this on their Note II that settings WERE/ARE overridden after install. I originally thought it was cool because (personally of course) I was able to grab a few images and a screensaver(?) I wanted at the time.
Actually I've grew tired of of Samsung' BORING products since they're all basically the same design theme over and over again plus the .02" screen upgrades aren't on par with the niche' market they created. I wanted a fresh, bold, and INNOVATIVE design I'd be happy with until the release of 4K (TRUE 4K) devices. I didn't/don't use my device as a visual capture tool, or want a device full of proprietary bloatware I'd NEVER use.
Yes sir, I graduated to the true beast of all smartphones/tablets presently available in the market today. Yes the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and it's worth every single penny I paid for it. Yes I know there downsides to owning such a device but I have yet to find any of them - this beast is perfect for ME and will keep me happy until the 4K devices finally are finally released.
But hey, Thanks for the heads of up man, I appreciate it, I sincerely do!
Beamed @ 17,500 mph from my Sony Xperia Z Ultra C6833! Service with a Smile!

Preorder waiting room. (international exynos)

Who else is still painfully waiting for their note7 preorder? Just got aessage from my carrier a few days back saying that "we cannot deliver your note 7 in time, as samsung is doing a quality check on all the note 7 devices. We will inform you when we know the new arrival date.". That is not exactly qhat they said as the message was in finnish, but that was the correct translation of the important part of the message. But anyway im already getting over the hype and getting really fustrated..
Also im really worried about the "Quality checked" models having the mewest software update, because that would make all the developement this far total trash. As we know of samsung they really do not like rooted devices.
anyone want a kik group for the note7? havent seen one

do Samsung Galaxy phones spy on the user?

Hi all. so I've been thinking about getting the s9+, but there is so much talk about them spying on their users, I know we can't just believe anything we read online these days so I thought I'd ask here.
So I'm looking to get some good answers from real programers and people who actually know what they are talking about, so if your a programmer or just a more advanced Android user and know anything about the code, please share your opinions.
Spying on users? If there was actually any hard evidence of that in public, it would be pretty well publicised. Your post is paradoxical, you acknowledge that you can't just believe anything you read online but you're online asking this very question. If you want a real answer, you'd have to hire a company to audit their software. Considering though that these devices are used by many many companies as business devices (Many of which will have already conducted audits), I'd say they're probably safe. Even if there is some form of deep spying going on, they're probably not interested in you.
Biggest joke ever:good:
How will be they able to spy on you.
spy who spies?
we all give our information of our own volition, for this you use social networks and various online platforms, everything learns from you what you like, what you use, what interests you to give you a better experience, unfortunately everything is recorded and if it can be used badly, but it is concern only for important people not for a normal user calm haha
