Anyone please tell me where buy Touch HD LCD screen ( i think my touch screen is ok, just LCD is cracked)
Or any where in the world (HTC care), can fix this device at this moment.
Best place (top down) : Viet Nam, Japan, Korea, Singapore
(I'm living in Viet Nam, HTC authorized care service doesn't know and have LCD to fix my device )
Please let me know, and price if available, i want to enjoy my HD, especially after HardSPL is released. Thank you so much

Welcome to the club . It’s a waiting game right now to get this fixed, I’m in US I called them and UK both didn’t know what to do, just asked me wait couple of weeks while they get the information, but there is another member here who contacted HTC repair in Norway I think and they gave him a price of 350 US dollars, as they can’t replace just the lcd they have to replace the whole Bezel/lcd/digitizer. Well good luck
Thanks for your information
I'm already contact HTC website support (twice), but they just told me bring my device to their HTC care, and did not confirm that they had lcd part or not
I know the price they will charge us must be greater then 200 USD, but still confuse because a LCD 20 inch has the price lower than a small piece LCD
I hope maximum charging price lower than 400 USD is okie
Maybe i'll wait for couple weeks, atleast after first week of 2009
Yes same logic as why my 4 year old nieces Jens cost more than mine
Price should be lower than 400$, but also need service manual for disassembling :s
Service manual is allready availible
http://www.mikechannon.net/
To pklein90 : "Service manual is allready availible " but no where selling Touch HD LCD Screen now ! Just some places selling touch screen
To Magus_doc : I visited HTC authorized service in Viet Nam, but they don't know what is that ( the HTC Touch HD ),
Q : Can i order LCD part ? A : No
Q : When can i recontact ? A : Next year ( next month )
It's too long to wait........
Anyone have better solutions, please let me know ? Wait or send it to EU to quickly repair ?
To pklein90 : In the other hand, service manual doesn't show the way to replace LCD, just test display and no more !!!
its on ebay <100 dollars... doesn't help with the installation though
Thanks for your info, but maybe it's not correct.
as i know, the part you see in ebay maybe "Touch Screen" not "LCD Screen"
The LCM of Touch HD includes : Touch Screen, LCD Screen and another part
As mention in the Service Manual, HTC just guide their technician to disassemble Touch HD to LCM package, not to smallest parts (Touch Screen, LCD Screen and another part). So what HTC service will charge us "LCM package" not only LCD Screen.
Touch Screen price about 80USD
Anyway, can you refer ebay link ?
ebay link for Touch HD Touch Screen Digitizer, not Touch HD LCD Screen
http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-TOUCH-HD-T8...|66:4|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:200
( Touch Screen Digitizer like a transparent film, to get touch event )
anyone has solution, please let me, i still can't replace my HTC Touch HD LCD.
anywhere replacable, anywhere selling Touch HD LCD, ...
thank you very much
Hello,
So just to clarify, if I scratched my HD screen, the only this I need to buy is the digitiser?
I made a deep scratch 1 week after getting the HD.
Thanks.
My Touch HD LCD repaired !
It was repaired in only 1 hour service ! And with unbelievable price ~ 133USD.
They replaced LCD + Digitizer.
Service provided by Hong Quang, HTC authorized service in Viet Nam.
After three months offline, now it's back again. amazing device
Nice to hear that.
I sent mine to Dubai and I am now waiting for an estimate of the costs. Mine had only a problem with the digitizer, but I believe they'll replace the whole front body, including LCD.

In my case, I have relatives living there...
Here in portugal the price tag is an amazing 300€ to replace the LCD + Digitizer!!
more than half the price of a new device...
My HD has the Digitizer cracked and the LCD is also cracked...but is still working very good!!
I'm in the process of trying to buy the parts so i can try to fix it my self...Iam not in the mood to pay 300€ for the repair!! its just to much money.
on ebay I can only find one seller...and the price is a little high plus I have to pay taxs!! on top!!
so I dont now what to do...where to find the parts for a reasonable price
An unofficial quote for the repair of my touch hd (although I have only a digitizer problem, not LCD, I still haven't found any reference on the internet saying it is possible to change only the digitizer) was around AED800 (that's Dirhams, the currency in Dubai).
Approx. 170euros and 220 dollars... Or 500 reais...
As soon as I get the official quote, I will let you know.
i have the WHOLE screen for $400.00 USA dollars. do you have a paypal account? Im 100 percent verfied with paypal snd have a great record with them.Pm me asap if your interested. thanks.
Hello
A few days ago i dropped my Galaxy S3 while pulling it out of my pocket and the LCD is cracked. I dropped my S3 a few times but this time it fell on the edge and it landed like a "brick". The whole phone functions properly except the Screen won't turn on. The Touchscreen and home button works fine but the Menu & Back button don't work. I took it to the repair shop and they said that it costs ~ £180 to repair it.
Are there any suggestions on what i should do? Any cheap good screen replacement on eBay?
And is there an app that allows me to control my S3 from my PC via USB preferably but WiFi will do also.
Thanks for reading

The issue is, the front housing, glass, digitiser and screen come as a "sealed unit". So yes it is expensive. You can pick them up a bit cheaper on eBay but then it needs fitting.
If you're searching eBay, we have AMOLED screen, not LCD

The problem is with these apps, they need setting up first and you need to be able to see to do it. k If you have a HDMI input somewhere, you can use an MHL cable to see it on a tv, but thats all I can think of really.
Problem with screen replace is not many do a proper job see multiple posts on XDA .

S3 screen
First thing is to go to service centre and ask to see service manager, usually its at the discretion of the manager to give a discount. I was lucky, went to get my Note 1 complete LCD & digitizer (broken) replaced for US$120 2 month ago. Yesterday I cracked my S3 screen n i went back to sc again got it replaced in 1 hr for $106 and i also change the headphone jack port ($11). Now i ve 2 brand new looking phone as they replace the fuull screen with frame. Thanks Samsung. So it pays to visit the sc 1st and speak with them rather than post yr problem. Cheers.

In the UK the Sammie service centres have to send the 'faulty' AMOLED/LCD screen back to Samsung, if it's cracked (as is likely in your case) the service centre do not get reimbursed for parts cost in the repair and as the complete house costs over £140 (and have to be bought in lots of 10 units) you can see there's no money in it for them to discount.
As rootsu stated above it's all one housing, replacing glass can be done but not the actual screen element.
I would suggest try to find someone with a working screen setup perhaps on ripbay or gumtree and drop in your motherboard to their working screen, anything under £150 and you're saving some money. Else try to sell yours but beware of buyers who'll try to make a claim on ebay after they received stating 'not as described' to get you to give a part refund for the sale (i.e. you auction it for £120 they then try to get £60 or £70 back) it's a common scam for phones.
Good Luck
I was able to get the whole screen and front bezel etc for £125 from Amazon and did it myself fairly easily with no previous experience. Just follow the YouTube guides slowly and carefully and it'll be fine. The UK seller of the screen got it to me within a day or two so I didn't have to use my old Desire HD for very long.

Before i cracked my screen (accidentally) i installed a program called Wondershare MobileGo for Android which allows me to see real-time screenshots of my phone but not control it. So with a bit of struggle maybe i can set up an App :|

I was actually thinking of replacing it myself but i don't know if Amazon delivers to my country.
Hi all, my Kindle HDX 7 has a cracked screen ( i dont undertand why happened at the first place) , a little piece of paper stuck between frame and screen border cleaning the display as normally do ,when i remove it using a minimun of pressure , i hear a crack, and now 40% of the screen is not responding to my fingers, using a torch shows the complete damage , a line crossing edge to edge display.
But thats history, im asking a references to buy a replacement, the cheapest OEM or Generic with the warranty i got a decent quality (probably bought a 9H Crystal screen protector ,to be safe from now)
Im looking this vendor on Ebay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-For-Am...312004869890?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10
But im free to receive references or websites if be posssible got a best quality display or lowest price.
Im not gonna replace the screen , when the piece arrives ,i leave the tablet with a trustworthy technician

60-80% of the cost of a pre-owned device. Don't see the value.
Guessing an aging battery swelled putting pressure on the screen. If accurate failure was imminent. So called 'screen protectors' are only effective against direct abrasion/impact; 'hard' overlays can actually contribute to glass fracture on drops and other events depending on how forces are distributed.

Yes i know the display isnt cheap, only want to spend the less to repair it, was saving some money to get the 64gb version and leave this kindle to my mother, she only want some basic stuff, 16gb isnt enuogh to save mutiple ISO's / APK and my stuff, but this unfortunate accident, change my plans, and i decide repair the cracked kindle first , the good side is , the tablet drop the price next months.
So, i make the order on Ebay, its a good chance to make a video/ tutorial to replace screen , the videos available on youtube dont have a good Quality.
I decided to change camera as it has lost its focus. But some of my local shop say that this Phone can be opened thorugh front ie display. There say 80% changes that display+touch might break. I don't have idea about.
Is it true ? Or my local shop are noobs.

How? I'm afraid that I breake the screen.
The screen, from info gathered on XDA & around the internet, is notoriously fragile. My X829 needs a new battery, so I bought a battery and a screen replacement kit just in case. I'll let you know how it goes, but I won't be able to do it until later this week, possibly not until the weekend.
Finally got the battery replaced. I DID break the screen though, even after applying heat and taking 20 minutes to slowly pry it off. So I'm glad I bought a replacement screen when I bought the battery. The new screen seems the same but (except the bezels are a different color ?). I'm definitely not a professional phone repair person, and in the past I have replaced already broken screens so I wasn't saving them for re-use.
If you've done a lot of phone repair and you have semi-professional equipment you might be fine, but my advice is to buy a screen too just in case.
I was afraid to i used some cheap repair kit from aliexpress, very big help is small glass swing and something like thin card what u pull between screen and frame. In any cases u can check YT there are planty of tutorials.
That strand of fiber is actually inside the glass covering the camera and somehow got stuck in there during the manufacturing process.
I'm from India and this was purchased two days ago from Flipkart. And I was wondering if this will be a cause of concern in the future. It also has a very slight screen-bleed at the bottom chin noticeable on grey background. But I don't mind that much since almost all the Pocos come with the screen bleeding issue.
Good people of XDA, should I opt for a replacement? I got this for Rs. 12,600 ($180) with a 6-8 months Buyback Guarantee @ Rs. 10K ($143), after exchanging my old Redmi Note 3 along with an SBI Card 10% off and an SBI-Rewards Flipkart coupon of Rs. 1000. So, pretty much a sweet deal.
I'm sorry I couldn't post a proper link to the image (since I'm a new member), so I've added spaces to the url of the pic showing what I've described above.

Prob wont cause issue but a new item shouldnt have this issue so I would change it if you can otherwise might reduce value later when you sell it
