Well I, for one, would like a GraceUX Rom themed like AOSP Pixel, but still using the usual GraceUX panel design and everything
---------- Post added at 12:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:22 AM ----------
Also, I wonder if the Nougat update that will come to j5 2015 in october is compatible with the custom tiles introduced with AOSP Nougat. You can currently try those in LineageOS14 and AOKP

And I can assure you that I have seen with my own (on the other side of the screen) eyes that the j5 2015 will receive nougat. Information was leaked from CEO of Samsung Turkey a few weeks ago and it revealed that the samsung galaxy j5 prime and 2016 would get their Nougat update somewhere in August amd the j5 2015 in October, being the last devices from the J5 series to get it.
Also, when Nougat comes to j5 2016, I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to port it to j5 2015, due to not so many differences betweem hardware and other things.

Did you wait for it to flash? Just wait a few mins. It will go past that message syccesfully.
Well, since I dont have PC at the moment, my wish is to boot Nougat ROMs straight over MM bootloader. Its easy to achieve this, actually Ive seen lot of people with more bugs and mistakes than me testing Nougat ROMs with boot.img edited with osmOsis AIK Mobile. I hope anybody appears with the skills to make this happen. ??

I have 2 Roms nougat made by sound001 running on MM bootloader.
It is very easy to start it in MM (You only need dtb file) But you can only start it (But it will not be stable)
Some bugs that you will have:
Brightness will not work
The front flash of the camera
Small lag in recent multitasking
And perhaps others.
I could solve these errors and I have it with Aroma installer (It is stable but I only did it to try on my model) I can not publish because the work of these roms are of others. Also they are working in the near future the rom work from MM.
Just have a little patience.
Maybe I can only share the rom later with the permission of the creators of this rom. (For J500H) I was working to boot on this model. (Later export the rom)

New hexagon ROM boots too ?. All these new ROMs are working over MM bootloader with mentioned bugs. I believe @Bulgaricus kernel could work too with further development( got stucked at animation). I PM some devs regarding these and got no response. Ive tested on my j500m.
But if devs are working on it, I'll wait for their work that hopefully will be released in near future.
Thank you for your explanations regarding this. ??

Wow quick compiling...don't have this so I can't test it out as of right now...amazing work squid!
Great rom, mate, but ouch..I forgot to backup so now I don´t have my radio functionality ( completely aware it was stated in the post. Totally my fault).
I was wondering if theres a stock rom image available or if it would be possible to provide such a thing.
Either way, I appreciate the rom and the help, if possible.

I don't have any firmware links beyond the usual FileFactory ones, so that's what you'll have to use for now. Once you revive your device, if you could run "getprop" over ADB and PM me the output, I'll add support for your variant's radio.
Thank you squid. I was able to recover the device. Is there a particular section of the get prop log you want? Bc I got something huge and I'm sure the command prompt clipped part of the information.
Once again, thanks for the good will

The easiest way to get the whole thing is to direct output to a file.
Code:
adb shell getprop > props.txt
I recommend sending me the file contents in a PM instead of posting publicly as it contains your serial number, IMEI, and MAC address. Alternatively, you can post the file here in thread if you censor out those three things.

Hmm I suppose I could try one of those images as I did make a backup. Worst case reinstall backup if all else fails.
@squid2 The theme chooser bug was an upstream thing. It should be fixed now.
Because I had it on my (now defunct, RIP) Galaxy S3 LTE on nightlies, and although I didn't update, I saw the day after I noticed it in the changelog, that they removed the boot receiver from the code, but forgot to remove it from AndroidManifest.xml.
So a new build should fix it.
Looking forward to a new build. Will region specific radio work in the new build? If not, what can I do to help adding XT1602 (Germany) support?
Thanks in advance.
XT1600 support ? dual-sim
Harpia kernel source is out
Apologies for the delay, I've been a bit lately and have a lot of projects going on. Motorola released kernel sources for this device yesterday, so I'll be working on adding harpia support to the CM kernel soon. The next build will come with a source built kernel.
Thanks for support G4 Play squid2 ;D
cm13 and cm14 for harpia
Squid2, will you make cm13 for harpia official or only cm14? I am asking because the cm14 development is well advanced. Thanks
I wanted to share some nougat roms before oreo gets here. My aim is to compile a one-off build for several roms as a sort of final unofficial build before oreo is stable. There is no timetable for these builds; I will try to build a new one every day or so, but real life may mean they are delayed.
I plan on building the roms that have not had updates for a while. If you have any requests for Lineage-based roms let me know, but I'm not promising anything
Available in download link below:
- crDroid ( February 2018 security patch updated by linusdan here )
- XenonHD ( Latest update June 2018 security patch)
- Oct N ( January 2018 security patch; updated by linusdan here )
- Resurrection Remix (latest: here. Thanks to @linusdan )
Also dotOS is available here
Future builds(no promises) :
- AOSP Extended ( Updated by YoDevil here )
If any of these roms are updated officially I won't be building them
As they are Lineage-based, the kernel source is https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4412 unless otherwise stated.

Many thanks for giving us an update noppy22. I was wondering if Xenon would get another one. A couple of quick questions if I may.
1. Can this be dirty flashed as per an official version, i.e. no wipe other than standard dalvik etc?
2. Will I need to flash lineage su add on? Normally I don't lose root with xenon updates. I only ever flashed it on the first install.
Again, thanks for doing this, it's much appreciated.

I have built it unmodified, so you should be able to dirty flash. Depends on whether there have been any major changes in the source. If dirty flashing works, you shouldn't need to flash the addon
Good news...
how about DND, any updates ?
Hi @noppy22,
Great idea / plan / and effort, trying to bring all major roms to their last Nougat build before we venture into Oreo world one day. I appreciate you have you have other commitments in your normal life, that MUST take priority over any rom/request...
However, if you do get a moment, and thinking what other roms to bring up... I would be EVER SO grateful if you could look at Resurrection Remix, taking it from 5.8.4 to 5.8.5. I got a couple of S2's which I plan to give to my parents for Xmas. They are currently rocking 5.8.4, but would be nice to upgrade them to the latest before wrapping them up....
No rush, and only if you have time and resources to do so. They are running just fine as they are, but just to finish it off would be cool....
... and thank you for all the work you've done already, and by taking on this task of updating other roms. Much appreciated.
Thanks, Lister

I just installed your ROM and I love it, only thing I have to say is The camera issue and audio, I hace tried to fix both but I did not get good results. I'm new in this kind of things and always try to read carefully. Your recommendations will be very welcomed.
Thank you again.
Plz Can You make Android Oreo rom for Samsung galaxy on5 or on5 pro cuz i don't think Samsung will ever push oreo for this. And if that rom supports PROJECT TREBLE. PLZ PLZ PLZ
Pleeeeeeeeeeease build again. I'm quite sure sound and camera can be fixed if we all put our heads together. I'm willing to test any time on any day fixes for anything with this or anything for my On5. You did amazing work with this for this device. You are very appreciated!!!! :good:
I stumbled across this thread randomly. What you did here is fantastic.
I hope you go back and resolve the couple of quirks in this rom or release the complication so the community can do so.
The On5 was always a great phone with was crippled by all the bloatware from Samsung.

Yes, it works perfectly, with the exception of can and in and out audio not working
We need an update.
Honestly, this is a good rom, but it really needs a rebuild since camera and sound dont properly work well, except with headphones. I do own this device, and we seriously need an update to this. Its almost a year since you first uploaded this. Maybe consider using Oreo for this update? Or Pie?
This works on SM-G550T?

FIRST AOSP 9 BASED ROM with Pixel Features especially for Kirin Devices
Disclaimer:
Welcome to Huawei-Kirin-Project. Our goal is to provide
a overall stable AOSP experience across all Huawei/Honor phones
utilizing a Kirin SoC and EMUI 8.0 - either updated or shipped.
So far most of the bugs have been fixed and the ROMs are fully usable
as daily driver - and fully Kirin optimized. We are a fully Open Source Organisation created by a Team of 5 People.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ
3) Ask here on xda If you can't find a solution
Download:
Kirin-Phone GSI
Kirin-Tablet GSI
VERY IMPORTANT
-Before installing ROM for first time Wipe Data Partition with Stock Recovery.
-If you Update the ROM skip the wipe section in Instructions.
Bugs:
Pie:
- Hotspot broken
- Huawei Camera not Ported yet
Requirement for installing
EMUI 8 has to be flashed anytime before
Unlocked Bootloader
Stock Kernel,Recovery and Ramdisk has to be flashed
Instructions
1. Download ROM
2. Extract the system.img from .xz rom file.
3. Flash the system.img via fastboot (fastboot flash system pathTo/system.img)
4. Flash stock ramdisk.img and kernel.img (Extracted from EMUI ) if you haven't done before
5. Wipe Data in Stock Recovery
6. Reboot (first boot may crash simply reboot the device again)
(Optional)
After first boot you can use this instructions to flash Magsik on your device.
Magisk Guide
Additional notes
- Pie encryption stuff is incompatible with Oreo recoveries, so use recovery with no decryption for now
- If it reboots on the first boot, don't be surprised, it's ok.
- If it's stuck on a bootanimation - make sure that you did wipes properly (properly - means a data wipe in stock recovery)
- It's a pretty early build, so don't expect it to be rock stable. It's good for daily driver as long as you don't mind the minor issues it has now.
- GAPPS are included in every build
Changelog
Build 25/08/2018

Yo damn im crying
I love OpenKirin Roms as they are Kirin Specific...
Thanks to this Gsi Team ....????
This is sweet music to my eyes I've flashed many different GSI's to the Huawei MediaPad M5 and none of them looked quite right (text fuzzy, not sharp), or something didn't work properly. Going to flash this one later tonight.
Thanks for the work on this, will post the results.
P20 lite supported, but not p20 Pro? Is there a specific reason? I read that other P gsi work on p20 lite, but on my Pro it doesn't even start booting.

Thx for this fast answering..
Thanks for developing for Kirin devices!
Thank you so much for this!
In the OP, you said that stock recovery, kernel, and ramdisk need to be flashed. If I'm coming from phh's Treble (8.1), do I need to flash the kernel and ramdisk again? I never installed TWRP, Magisk, or anything like that (I basically only touched system).
I've got the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4" WiFi version, on first boot, the following services keep stopping: Bluetooth, Google, Google Play Services. Rebooted several times to no avail. Skipping everything get's me to the "Just a Sec" screen with the spinner.
This was a full factory image start, followed by the installation instructions. Has anyone else run into this with any device?

If you're absolutely sure you never touched the other partitions, then sure, go ahead and flash the rom only. Dont see why you wouldnt want to do it, it literally takes like 10 seconds to flash both of the files, including typing the commands.

Tablet version. Is your device the same flavor as mine: US 8.4" M5 WiFi only? I was able to flash the OpenKirin LineageOS Beta 5 without any app issues.

No i have eu Version of m5
I flashed it successfully on my Honor 7X. For the first boot it reboot automatically, but after that it was fine and I could complete the setup normally.
Everything seems to be working well so far (even MTP). The only bug I found is that the swipe down gesture on the fingerprint sensor does not bring down the notification shade. The rest of the fingerprint gestures work though (swiping for recents, tap to go back, hold to go home).

It's probably just a typical thing. Touchscreen might not work for s8 or s8+ depends on what base rom is made. Than in most cases flashing custom kernel does the job.
.. so any 1 with TWRPed version of a DSE4 stock kernel [emoji1980]
