Hi,
I flashed the newest CyanogenMOD nightly on my SGS II previously running Villain ROM 2.1 with CF-Root kernel. Things were ok but I missed out on battery getting extremely low. After some time the phone went dead [due to complete battery drain] so I plugged it via USB cable to my laptop's USB port. Now it's been over an hour and all I see is the empty battery symbol re-flashing every 3 seconds [It's the same grey empty battery with a circle in middle].
I have tried booting the phone normally as well as in recovery but nothing happens! The battery empty symbol keeps flashing. I tried accessing download mode but it says "Battery Low. Can't Download". Can anyone please help me with this ?
Should I wait for couple of more hours or is my phone screwed, bricked or whatever....
Please try your AC adapter to charge. Keep it charging overnight just in case.
don't have the AC adapter now because it's in my office. But tomorrow this is the first thing that I'll do when I go there. will report if it works....
I hope it will work. Just keep it charging. That battery needs a kick in the A.

Your battery needs shock
Wrap it in a plastic case and seal it, put it in deep fridger for 3 -4 hrs, take it out and leave it until it gets the room temprature.
Now you need to charge it with slighly higher amp voltage charger and hopefully it will revive

I've got a problem in my phone, currently using a custom rom 7.1.2 by resurrection Remix on Lenovo A6000, I charged the battery normally upto 100, its discharge was normal till 71 percent. The battery dropped directly from 71 to 50 and now it has been at least 3hours that it is showing 50 percent. Few days ago I got another problem, the battery was 70 percent and then dropped to 53percent and then showed 69 percent. Anyone can help me please? I just wanna know if its just a minor bug or my battery has been screwed...
OK, guys, I heard that ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.0 has issues with off-charging. I tested that for myself.
I flashed Revolutionary Recovery 4.0.1.4, and the phone seems to CHARGE while turned off. There's a bit of a problem, though.
A few friends suggested that I discharge the phone entirely then charge it while it's turned off, for 12 hours. I did that! LED was green when I woke up (12 hours since plugged in), so I disconnected it and turned the phone on. SURPRISE ! 64% BATTERY ! I rebooted the phone, thinking that maybe the % counter isn't showing it properly. No, it WAS showing it properly.
What is the problem?! Is it because of the recovery, again? I thought Revolutionary CWM 4.0.1.4 isn't broken like that?!
The problem is not that it doesn't charge while off. After the phone's battery depleted, I plugged it to the wall charger, then the red LED switched on, 5 seconds later it went off then it switched back on. I believe the phone charged to 100% then it was supposed to discharge to 90% then charge back up to 100%... and it didn't recharge once it went back to 90%, but continued to discharge. Otherwise I see no explanation why it was at 64% after 10 hours of charging...

I have left mine on the charger over night when I woke up mine was green and said 96% it's discharging to keep from spakin the battery...
Once it gets to a certain point it will charge back up...
Charge your phone till 100% green light unplug it go to recovery wipe your battery stats reboot phone and use it till it dies.
Then give it a full charge and your good to go..

Charge it tll green while it's turned off, right? Then, RIGHT AS it goes green, I go wipe that placebo file?
I'll do that, I was planning to do that anyway.
I know it's a protection so it won't damage the battery... But it's supposed to charge back up once it's discharged to 90%, not continue to go down below 70%!

Man that is weird about yours being off my guess is the stats are screwy so this should fix you up...
Nothing too odd tho ....

Anyway, weren't we told that the batterystats.bin is not responsible for the battery percentage we see?

It's been charging from 80% to 99% relatively fast. Stood at 99% for about half an hour =) .
I'll wipe that file, then...? I let the phone battery die and charge it while it's off and when the LED goes green I disconnect it? That was my concern always : do we have to charge it back up while it's OFF or ON...

Also, what ROM are you using? Given you're from the US, I believe you're using a CDMA ROM that is NOT compatible with my GSM phone . Right?
TWRP 2.0 solved my recharging issues while the phone is off.

I see the topic for it is in the CDMA section of the forum. Would it work on my GSM variant?! I see no refference to that, in the main topic, AGAIN. -.-

sorry dude
It's 2012. It's time to aggressively spread the word that discharging your phone, charging it back up and repeating the cycle 3 times while you chant monk songs will do absolutely nothing for your battery.
Battery 'conditioning' methods do not work, are not needed, and haven't been for a very long time now.
That is all!

Yeah, well, I did do that 'conditioning' and it seemed like it worked, at least for a few days. I guess it's just a placebo. That was when I had the Desire and the Desire HD. I didn't have time to let the phone charge while off lately, perhaps I will, soon.

Whenever there's a socket nearby and I have the cords with me, I preffer to stay on the charger and take out the battery. I know it's reccomended that you use the battery 2-3 times a month and never stay without the battery for a long period of time.

Oh well, my initial problem seems to have been solved. I was worrying I may have a faulty battery / charger. This topic may be locked now... just to prevent somebody from answering something irrelevant and useless to it 2-3 years from now x)
I'm also having this problem.. Was wondering whether there is a solution for us GSM users? I've installed the oldest ClockworkMod that I can find on ROM Manager 5.0.1.6, but that still seems to have the same problem.
Are there any alternatives? Or does anyone have an older ClockWork and a method to install it without using ROM manager?
Thanks

3rd party battery makers (like Momax, Seidio etc.) claim their batteries hold up to 80% of the specificed capacity, and sometimes, EVEN 60% ! That is RUBBISH.
I had a solar battery (China). It said it was of 2600 mAh. Wouldn't charge my old Desire even up to 80%... So it barely had 1000 mAh, lol.

And yeah, ClockworkMod Recovery by Revolutionary (not sure how to really call it, lol) 4.0.1.4 is the best... Too bad TeamWinRecoveryProject isn't available for us, GSM owners . WHY THE F*** is it for CDMA only, though. The hardware CAN'T DIFFER THAT MUCH .
Hi everyone,
I'm not sure this is my case only or it applies to everyone
My touchpad won't come back to charge under CM9 if the tablet is dead.
I have come across some posts which saying you will need to boot into WobOS and get it partly charged and reboot it back to CM9.
Has it been fixed or there is a workaround
Thank you
I experienced this for the first time last week. I had toboot into webos like you said. I did quite a bit of searching for a fix but couldn't find anything.
Hopefully someone else can chime in with a link.
Rezound, rooted, loving it.
If your battery is completely dead, It takes a LONG time to charge it enough to boot. Just leave it alone overnight on the charger and try again.

I have read people leaving it over night and still havent had enough charge to boot. I dont know, I have never let my battery drain all the way. I just read people have problems when it does.
I got a Huawei Fusion 2 off ebay last week used for 50 bucks I can tell it wasn't someones ''used'' phone if you know what I mean.
The phones works pretty good I'm happy with it. I have it rooted and I have CMW installed on it. But I'm having a problem with my battery and the battery percentage. when I boot it up with the charger or USB plugged in my battery drops very bad. I just turned it off at 55% and then turned it back on with the charger in it and now it's at 5% This is wired I don't know what could be going on? I checked the pins and everything. I already re installed cynogenmod I thought maybe it was a bug or something that didn't fix it. should I get a new battery? The first 5 days of having it the battery was FINE and now it's doing this to me.

Hey so yesterday my xperia u's battery apperently drained out fully and it wouldnt come on no matter what .. neither did it charge, so i did alot of reading and i saw a post that said keep it on charger for a long time, so i did today
like two hours later i saw that my battery had started to charge but was charging really really slowly.. but anyhow i left it to charge to a 100%
then i disconnected from charger and used the phone and everything was normal .... until when the phone said low battery( it took just 3 hours ) i put it too charge but the phone said it was charging .. (at least the battery icon and the lockscreen said it was) but the device kept giving me the low battery sign until now it the phone shut down and it wont charge again ...
does anyone know a fix for this ?
ps . i am running AOKP rom with transendance kernal and the phone is like one year old now and unlocked bootloader and i used only the adopter and cable provided with the phone
