[Translation] XML Files for RomControl - Galaxy Note 4 Themes and Apps

I've tested a great many ROMs on XDA as well as other sites.
Some are not allowed to be posted on XDA because they violate the rules. Mostly because modifications were done to ROMs that were posted on XDA without permission, and released on other sites.
A few of those ROMs use a very awesome customization app called RomControl.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-rom-control-app-devs-t3146567
If you happen to run across a ROM that uses RomControl and it is not in English, I've translated the xml files to english.
I AM NOT PROVIDING THE ROMCONTROL.APK OR ROMS !!
All the files are in zip files called xml.zip and values.zip at the links below. They will need to be extracted.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862706088
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120711022
The RomControl.apk will need to be decompiled and the files in the xml directory ( C:\path to your\AdvancedApkTool\3-Out\RomControl.apk\res\xml ) will be replaced with my files in the xml.zip file I posted.
The directory path above is what AdvancedApkTool uses.
Then extract the values.zip and place those files in the ( C:\path to your\AdvancedApkTool\3-Out\RomControl.apk\res\values )
Then recompile the apk.
I use this [Tool]Advanced ApkTool v4.2.0 by @BDFreak to decompile apk's
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho....php?t=2639400
This thread is not to promote those other ROMs or sites. This is merely an offering of the time I spend to translate all the menu items, options etc. to English.
So IF you run across a ROM that has RomControl, and it's options and menus are not in English, you can have it up and running in English in less than 15 minutes.
This is an advanced effort. You will need to know how to decompile and recompile an apk and add it to your phone.
AGAIN, these files are only to be used on a copy of a RomControl.apk that is not in English. And the ROM must support RomControl.
I WILL NOT be answering questions on how to do that.
This quide below shows many possibilities for RomControl
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799050
Here's two
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66779070&postcount=6139
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66754211&postcount=6088
It does require a lot of work.
If this thread turns into a trainwreck with people asking questions I said I will not answer, I will have it closed.
I WILL NOT be answering questions of where to get other ROMs that support this.
I've said the THREE times on this one page.
It took me a long time to do this. I may have missed one or two. Hopefully not. If you find something. Decompile the apk, find the area it's used in and fix it.

If I understand you correctly, you are taking files from the framework of one device and putting them into the framework of a different device?
If that's the case, you can't do that. Apks (even framework apks) rely heavily on things like resource ids, which very greatly from device to device, or from rom to rom.
Unfortunately Im nit sure how to do what you are seeking to do, just offering some advice on your apk compiling problem. Also, if I've completely misunderstood what you were doing, I apologize and disregard what I said.
In any case, post the compiling error your getting.

how i can support arabic language in Complete FroYo Bundle** FRX07.1

please, how i can support arabic language in Complete FroYo Bundle** FRX07.1 (rhod100)??
http://ardoid.com/
It's been asked before, this is the answer. However, this is for native Android devices, and I'm not sure anyone figured out how to get it working on our port. I never did figure it out, but I'm far from an expert on this stuff.
Here's how it worked for me: (Originally provided here)
1 - Download the "libskia.rar" attached to this post.
2 - You will need the latest version of a program called "Root Explorer" (tested with 2.17.1). Download and install it on your device, and don't forget to give it superuser permissions when you run it for the first time.
3 - Extract the "libskia.so" file from the package, and copy it to the "system/lib" folder on your device using Root Explorer. Use the "mount r/w" button to give the program permission to overwrite the file.
4 - Android should restart itself automatically when you copy the file. If it doesn't, restart Android manually. Your device now shows Arabic letters correctly.
The only problem with this method is that it doesn't solve the RTL text direction problem, but it is indeed a very acceptable solution that enables you to use Android for daily use.
Try it and tell us what happens. It worked for me using FRX07.1.
Oh, and arrrghhh, thank you for your devotion and efforts to bring Android to the Tilt2. Why don't you mention this method in the FAQ so that it could be found more easily by FRX07 users? And best of luck with the GBX01 effort!

np, and glad someone made an easy guide.
Can you make one change? Can you actually attach the files instead of linking to another site? Thanks.
I will consider adding it to the FAQ, but honestly this question has only been asked maybe 2-3x in the 2 years I've been involved in this project... not a very 'frequently' asked question is my point .
Sorry for reviving a dead thread but I just wanted to know is XDAndroid deodexed or odexed, I have searched and at a guess I would say it is deodexed but I haven't found anything that gives me certainty so if anyone could answer I would be grateful.
Thanks in advanced
Just before anyone says what does this have to do with Arabic I have found this site (http://blog.devasque.com/) that seems to have a method that works across the board so I just wanted to give it a try. I will post my results
Also the method posted above is ok but it seemed to mess up my English documents.

It's AOSP... so I guess odexed? I honestly have no clue.
Arrrghhh, as you weren’t sure I thought I’d give it a go any way and after a lot of testing I found that it works so I’m guessing the rom is deodexed.
My findings, the latest patch to work on both the GB0C and FRX07.1 builds is 0.789 anything after that seems to cause either boot loops or freezes.
Also it seems to work very well with both the direction being correct and the letter displaying correctly joined.
So if anyone wants Arabic this seems like a good option, all you have to do is:
Download the 0.789 patch from http://blog.devasque.com/how-to-apply-patch/ and extract it.
Then copy the framework.jar file from the system/framework folder on your phone to the framework folder in the patch folder, after that run command.exe and follow the instructions. After it finishes you will find a new framework.jar in the generated folder just replace your old file with the new one and reboot and hopefully you should see all the Arabic and like fonts displayed correctly.
There are instructions on the site but they are for the newest patches, the instructions I have posted are from what I did with this older version they are very similar just some minor folder name changes and less files to be converted.
Just like to say all the credit goes to Madmack and the people that have worked with him.
Cool, I'm sure that will help some people

smali ICS editing help needed for Settings.apk

Hello People
Hope I am in the correct section here.
I am trying to delete/re-arrange Menu entries in Settings.apk for my HTC device. From some research I performed and from some Gingerbread mods I know that the file to edit is the HtcEntryProxy.smali. However it is a bit difficult to find out what exactly is going on there!. How to I find which values to change in order to delete some menu entries ?
I have successfully decompiled the apk and I can re-compile it too.
Thanks in advance.

Translate .APK?

Hello all, i just wanted to ask how to translate an apk. I was practicing with some apps to translate some english parts in my MIUI rom, edited strings and arrays in values-es (spanish is what i want), but when i recompiled, the .APK was smaller, and when i tried to install, it said App Not Installed. I tried with APKTool and APKManager, same results. Please help!
I think you should get the source code and create another language xml file to make it work and rebuild the project. In case there is no lang file nowhere in the source, you may not translate it.

[Q] Modifying Smali Code and recompile it.

I have read all the threads on the topic of decompiling APK file and recompiling it, and so far I am successful in decompiling and recompiling it.And now I want to make some changes in smali files like change package name and remove some features, But I don't know smali language, so Is there a way that I can convert smali files into Android JAVA project which I can import into Eclipse or I must have to learn smali language to achieve what I want.
Thanks in Advance

It can be done with smali also ....
Only thing is you need to be tricky ....[emoji6]
Am not writing the procedure here coz changing package name doesn't sounds good for me [emoji1] I always respect efforts of original developers (some kangers always do change name and remove some features and claim the apk as theirs in generally am saying don't get hurted )
So I just want to confirm that changing package name and removing some features is possible via smali editing no need to convert the apk to java source .......
