I'm trying out several ROMs, but I'm biased towards battery backup rather than performance because I barely play games and take pictures occassionally. Currently on Hydrogen OS/H2OS v2 with Boeffla Kernel (the Boeffla-Config app doesn't work even after all auto start prerequisite instructions have been carried out). So, which ROM with which kernel gave you the best battery life? Excluding and including Xposed modules?

I would go with Tesla N. If you want MM, then I recommend modded OOS.
There are three profiles inside L Speed. Battery, Balanced, Performance.
But if you want I can upload my setup in some hours
Here it is!?
1. Install L speed (if you want sign for betas)
2. download my zip and place the file inside in sdcard > LSpeedBackup
3. restore backup in the App
4. if you don't use interactive based gov, turn govtuner off

It's not interactive based, but zzmoove is also supported. You can test without govtuner for a day and then with govtuner "balanced" and zzmoove (don't use zmoove with govtuner "battery", it lags as hell). And on the third day you can test interactive with govtuner "battery"
Here you can check which governor to use: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/ref-to-date-guide-cpu-governors-o-t3048957

If you use my L speed profile, change kernel tweaks from heavy to light. It's better at the moment.

I haven't drain like this. Did you restart your phone after restoring the backup?
And you should set that L Speed make his changes after 15 or 20 seconds, so it is after the Kernel management app

I didn't. I get good SOT, but when the phone is sleeping, something drains the battery. I have been using this phone a lil less than a year now. Could it be a battery problem?

Download Better Battery Stats and let it analyse a night when you sleep.
Maybe your device can't get into deep sleep or there are some wakelocks.
There are good instructions to do this, for example: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57507885&postcount=3

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! MIGHT NOT WORK FOR ALL G3!!
MAKE BACKUP OF YOUR DEVICE BEFORE USING THESE FILES!!!
Please Do not change or mod these settings or re-release them! If you do i will hunt you down and murder your favorite pet and turn them into a nice steak! [That was a joke......]
This thread is for setting i made for the LG G3 Verizon Wireless (vs985)
These settings are to be used with SetCPU and Trickster Mod (You'll need Trickster Mod donate pack to restore the Trickster Mod backup settings)
These settings .zip are not flashable. You will need to unzip the pack ON DEVICE.
PACK includes:
SetCPU profiles:
Multimedia - Other, Multimedia - Photos, Multimedia - Music, Multimedia - Video, Multimedia - Camera, Emulator- MyBoy!, Social, Google Chrome, GPS Navigation and Maps [NO ACTIVE], Phone/Contacts, HIGH TEMP!! 170+oF+!!, Games (HD-Large), Games (HD-Small), Charging (AC/USB), Screen Off, Everyday Use. Those are the profiles in the SetCPU pack. They are still being tweaked!
Trickster Mod Setting: EXTREME Undervolting, On_demand Governor tweaking, minfree_Control (RAM Management), 1512 i/o fiops, and some other awesome things! They are still being tweaked!
Install directions for these files:
1. Download the .zip file from this page
2. Unzip pack
3. Put the LG G3 CM12.x JediKernel 3.0 [1.x] [2.88GHz].setcpu.json in the root of your onboard SD card partition. SetCPU will find the files on its own when you go and restore it
4. Put the LG G3 (vs985) CM12.1 JediKernel 3.0 2.88GHz [09-19-2015] file in the tm_profiles folder in the on board SD card partition.
Then go into Trickster Mod and touch restore and select the latest version of the files
5. Download NOMone Resolution Changer and set your Resolution to 1080 x 1920 with the DPI settings of 320! This is just something i forgot to add! This will help you get MAXIMUM proformance and battery life since your display will not be pushing a 1440p resolution! LINK TO APP [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nomone.resolution_changer&hl=en]
6. ENJOY THESE FILES and you're instantly AWESOME LG G3!
I do not take ANY credit AT ALL for the making of the kernel! I did not build the KERNEL! All credit goes to @ptmr3 !
These settings ONLY work on the JediKernel! If you use the Trickster Mod Settings on any other kernel the device will crash and boot loop
DOWNLOAD THIS BADASS KERNEL FROM THIS BADASS DEV!

[CHANGELOG]
09-12-2015: [V1.0 Stable]
1.Release of the pack!
2.Release pack date isn't current but it's the newest/latest build/compile of the settings pack.
09-18-2015: [V1.1 Stable]
1. SetCPU: Multimedia-Camera Added Open camera
2. SetCPU: Google Chrome lowered MAX CPU Freq from 1959MHz to 1728MHz for stability
3. Trickster Mod: Much needed CPU voltage tweaking! Now more stable but keeping extreme undervolting and keeping temp down and saving battery
4. Trickster Mod: OnDemand Governor tweaking. Now CPU and GPU play nicely together. If any lag or frame drops were in the last build it is most likely gone.
09-19-2015: [V1.2 Stable]
1. SetCPU: Nothing changed!
2. Trickster Mod: CPU voltages raised for more stability!
3. Trickster Mod: OnDemand Governor tweaked. Still testing can't tell if it drops performance or raised it up a bit!
09-19-2015: [V1.2-1 Stable]
1. Added Kernel Adiutor support! READ FILE INSTALL DIRECTIONS ABOVE! [STILL IN TESTING STAGE]
09-23-2015: [V1.3 STABLE]
1. Trickster Mods: Fixed CPU voltage setting for more system stability.
2. Trickster Mod: Reverted back to On Demand settings that were in V1.1!
3. SetCPU: No Change. Changes coming next version build release!
4. Kernel Adiutor: Turns out the settings i released for this app don't work. The file in this pack has not been updated nor does it work from what i have heard from a tester!
10-01-2015: [V1.4 STABLE]
1. Trickster Mod: Fixed CPU voltages! Its more stable now!
2. Trickster Mod: Updated On-Demand Governor! I tweaked the settings a little bit! The user can try the setting if they want! By default it is 0.2 but 0.3 is the testing settings (That is if it shows both!)
3. SetCPU: Multimedia - Video: Added Popcorn Time Remote
4. SetCPU: Google Chrome: Put MAX CPU freq/speed from 1728MHz to 1958MHz
5. SetCPU: Charging (AC/USB): Put MAX CPU freq/speed from 2572MHz to 2457MHz
6. SetCPU: Screen Off: Changed Governor from conservative to On Demand for better proformance when waking the display hopefully battery life will not change. Please change the Governor to conservative because On Demand drains a little battery. It sat in 268MHz for a hour because the Governor was being hyperactive!
7. GPU Navigation and Maps NOW enabled and added Maps (Google Maps) The reason it was disabled was because i was having issues with it not switching to profile when Google Maps was opened. Still testing this profile! Tell me if you got it to work and how!
11-08-2015: [V1.5 STABLE]
1.Trickster Mod: Fixed/tweaked the Voltages! The devices seems more stable for me but i still tweaking the to get the most out of the device!
2.Trickster Mod: The OnDemand Governor was tweaked but i'm still using the 0.2 version because it seems to be the most perfect for everything!
3. SetCPU: I made too many changes and upgrades to the profiles to be able to write them all down. I made to new profiles Games HD large and small.
11-11-2015: [V1.6 STABLE-TESTING]
1. SetCPU: Changed MAX CPU freq for Screen Off profile from 576MHz down to 499MHz
2. SetCPU: Added TrueCaller and TrueDialer to the Phone, Contacts profile
3. SetCPU: Tweaked some other small things that forgot.
4. Trickster Mod: Complete Redo/Remake of the already extreme under voltage settings! This is still be tweaked! Not 100% stable yet. I've had a few crashing while using my phone.
11-13-2015: [V1.6.1 STABLE-TESTING]
1. SetCPU: No changes. Comes with the same file that is in 1.6 STABLE-TESTING package
2. Trickster Mod: More speaking of the voltages. Still have crashing here and there but i'm still working on perfecting it!
SEE NEWEST/LATEST THREAD POST TO SEE THE VOLTAGE TABLE COMPARED TO STOCK VOLTAGES!
11-18-2015: [V1.6.2 STABLE-TESTING]
1. SetCPU: Camera: Changed Max frew from 1728 to 1958 and changed governor from conservative to OnDemand.
2. SetCPU: Multimedia Video: Changed Max freq from 1958 to 1728 because i kept getting crashing while playing YouTube videos in 720p 60FPS
3. SetCPU: Multimedia Music: Changed Max freq from 2265 to 1958 because i was getting better battery life with Google Play Music.
4. Trickster Mod: Tweaking of the voltages. It's a lot more stable now! I'm getting a whole day of battery life with light to medium use and still get 80% of battery at the end of the day!
Please report back after updating!
If you encounter any device crashing please tell me
Looks awesome bro, good work!

I'm not 100%, but this should be what to do...
In the app Tools/Profile/hit the + tab/tic select all or ?/ and it creates the settings profile
This part I'm willing to test with you. In your file explorer app go to the root tab.
/data/data/com.grarak.kerneladiutor/files/profiles.json
This is the profile you created. I'm assuming if I placed your file in the same folders on my device I would see the profile you created.

What i did is i used a app called NOMone Resolution Changer to change the resolution to 1080p with the DPI to 320. Putting the resolution to 1080p helps in battery life and proformance!

Some users like more battery backup on their device, some users like more performance on their device. So, which one is yours?
Share.... :highfive: Also it might be helpful if you share your kernel settings. Screenshot would be great :highfive:
My ultimate Kenzo-combo is:
1. Unofficial CM13 by Umang and DiamondBond. Why this over official CM13? Because I don't have to mess with all the camera fixes, everything is included by default. Plus as a bonus I get lightning-fast boot times and slightly quicker apps installation;
2. Radon V3.0.1 aka the most versatile, feature-rich and stable kernel for this device;
3. GovTuner 3.6 with the Balanced profile. The phone runs super-smooth while giving me solid 7-8 hours of actual use. Sure, I could go with more conservative settings and easily get 10-12 hours of SoT, but watching the phone stutter and lag is not for me.
4. Various little mods and adjustments, like the Goodix patch, build.prop tweaks ( disabling Camera2 API and bringing the LCD density down to 420 ), removing SoundFX libraries, heavily debloating the ROM and cleaning up some more system stuff like libraries and ringtones.
Overall this combo gives me the perfect day-to-day usage with no bullstuff, no crashes, no weird glitches and bugs. Everything is consistent, clean, smooth and stable.
CM14.1 can't come soon enough.

Unfortunately, I haven't used either of those mods, so I can't compare.
But after installing GovTuner I noticed a signifcant increase in smoothness and fluidity with no real decrease in battery life / SoT.

Can you explain how it improves? for example disabling Camera2 API? I use Denoisecamera (from this forum) but some options FC.. but the pictures are actually nice in my opinion... Would like to have a full working camera with at least a close enough quality to this app

It doesn't improve picture quailty, it improves the speed and responsiveness of the camera app. I don't care about picture quailty at all because I'm a student, so 99% of the pictures I take are textbooks, whiteboards and so on. I don't need any manual controls and denoise features for that. So, it improves the experience for me personally by making taking pictures faster and simpler.

I prefer to have a better battery backup (2days) but not in lieu of a great decrease in performance. The phone doesn't shutter or lag, smooth and I get about 10h SOT

What's the SOT?
I found best battery is stock rom 5.9.26S from ALBA in Russia forum you can download it here:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/3rWz/V8e4aZYBE
Or Madsurfer stock rom 5.9.26S with Sense home launcher
Nougat rom try Ground Zero roms Tipsy, Validus, Tesla normally it got pretty good battery life with good performance.

Used it last night for 2 1/2 hours sot to 50% so I'm assuming 6 hours. Just feels so much more smooth and solid than linage or RR or aosp based ROMs. Way smoother than eui.
It's miui8 port a little bit tricky to get it to boot properly the 1st time but well worth it I have Xposed installed. Freedom

I usually get 5.1/2 - 6 hours SoT on RR which is pretty decent. You just need to find the right settings for long battery life.
Small EUI could potentially outperform RR in the field of batterylife , but I just can't get used to EUI based ROMS after experiencing Nougat features.

Wow. How do you manage to get that! I barely hit 3 and 1/2. It's not that bad, but more sot it's really appreciated

Which version of rr? Nougat or mm?
I'm running 7.1.2 RR 27/05 build.
I changed the resolution to 1920*1080/420 dpi. It's more than enough for me, I see no point of watching 1440p content on a mobile screen.
I use Balanced Xana ATK profile (Settings->Leeco Extras->AKT profiles) and Greenify app to limit background running apps.
I turned off the logger buffer sizes (Developer settings). In Display settings turned on adaptive brightness and reduced power consumption (livedisplay). Also turned on batterysaving mode in location settings.
I would like to highlight that If I play any game (usually Mobile Legends) I get around 4 - 4 and a half SoT with approximately 1 hour gameplay.
I also tried out the newer build (02/06) but AKT profiles didn't work in that one (not noticed any differences in Kernel Adiutor), so I've decided to stay on this build for while. But I read that there are new powersaving features in the latest build, you might wanna check that out.
You can read about some kernel tweaks here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/kernel-blackscreen-pro3-aka-zl1-x727-t3594976 (2. post)

Do you have any link telling more about that Russian ROM? A thread link or something like that. I guess its from 4pda? I've tried to search but got nothing. Seems to be a very lightweight ROM..
Thanks.

It's on Russia forum here I found rom by ALBA for Le Max 2 and Le Pro 3 (different tread): this link for Le Max 2:
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=822890
You gotta click under LeEco Le Max2 at the top fourth line in blue text (EUI) and there is 5.9.26S. It's Russian language though not much I can understand.

Interactive cpu governor, alucard hotplug, and no, i didn't underlock. But if you chose a AKT profile, you don't have to necessarily mess with kernel settings, the profile does that.
Now I'm on 13/6 build, so far it's fine. A bit laggy though, I think the BS 2.3 could cause that. Not noticed any difference in battery life.

Hey. Thank you for the great explanation! What was your on the 7.1.2 RR 27/05 build? Can you upload the kernel or the rom itself please? Thx
Edit: I think it can be bs 2.1. I'm using v13.07 of RR N. I flashed that bs kernel. I'm testing it with some Kernel A. changes and stock AKT. I'll add a few SS about my battery usage after the test
Hello guys after I tried a lot of ROMs combo kernels roms blabla if any1 want to try its free and trust me u will love it.
The best combo its here super smooth
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298984356 RRD by movzx notice the 09-09-2017 build (Nougat)
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1RiBJVEj4Y2aBnGQFwa7fhpDMPJOYOrsb Shadow Kernel 4.7 choose settings for performance-hexa core and apply undervolt and disable f-sync/ choose permissive selinux (if u want any magisk module)
Apply those settings in darkness app for gaming
Turn off arch power
Change both thermals to 80 Celsius
And happy gaming!
Small update: if any1 want vulkan api (cuz some apps support that API ofc) use the guide to enable it vulkan api activator etc
Also I added some photos to check battery usage too it was 4 hour of gaming 1 hour lost as u can compare cuz from one restart I had to do cuz forgot to enable my sound mods on magisk xd

Thanks for the advice. I read somewhere that disabling f-sync causes instability and some issues. If I skip disabling f-sync and leave it as-is and apply all other settings, will it still be fine?
@habitbuilderwarrior yes you can leave it on but here no problems cuz never had a random reboot to loose data etc its up to u
I don't play games, but love performance for daily usage too. Have undervolting improved battery backup during gaming too?

all custom roms on this device have bad idle battery drain, latest i tried was RR oreo with DA kernel and got 20%+ overnight drain.
im asking this because laptop linux OSes dont have this problem. i've tried endless linux flavours on laptop and never had battery drain issues so what is the problem with custom roms on this device?

modified any settings for kernel?
Its because the device keeps awake at after screen off. Faced the same issue, its fixable by disconnecting the battery. Open up the back cover and disconnect it for a min. It will be fixed. Watch YouTube video to see how to open back cover.
1% - 2% overnight idle battery drain on ArrowOS Oreo + Universe Kernel + Magisk + Xposed + 80 apps.
Intelligent use of Greenify + GMS Doze (magisk module) helps alot.
Kernel Settings:

CPU-hotplug: screen off single cpu-on
GPU: governor-performance (gaming reasons)

Ja, there is a app on the kernel site and nice profiles. Sysconfig patches a magisk module and delete the apps I don't use or replaced with third part apps.
