Soft Reboot to enable data - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

When on a custom ROM I need to do a soft reboot to be able to connect to data. If I don't do the soft reboot, the phone works perfectly fine, has reception and everything, but I can't connect to data. This behavior does not happen on MIUI ROMs, either the official one or the on from MIUI.eu. So far this issue has happened on the nexus experience ROM, CM13 and now Lineage OS 14, is there a fix? It's kind of annoying having to reboot my phone every time I turn it off.
My phone is a RN3 SE(kate), I have the latest firmware and have Radon Kernel, but this also happens without the kernel.

Had the same problem. Did this to fix it : https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/guide-how-to-reactivate-mobile-t3522601

I am facing the same issue and I kind of solved it by setting my phone to only use 3G and 2G. I am happy with 3G internet speed for daily use and I can switch to LTE when I need to download something big.

Wifi Problems

Hello. As title shows i do have problems with wifi on my phone. It connects an disconnects every 10 seconds. After a few times it gives up. I have rebooted my phone and i have HD2O 2.0.0 v18 rom that i have had on it a while now. I also have Android 4 that i run from storage card and i have done so for a while as well. Wifi works fine when i am in android and the problem happened recently. Any tips? Should i flash back to an official rom? I do not want that because the official roms sucks on my phone.

I did what you said but the problem is still there. What to do?
Is the signal strength very weak, if so it could be hardware related & maybe wifi antenna connection issue which can be a problem for some;

[Q] Bizzare bootlooping - desire z / HTC Vision

Hey all, having a very odd issue here. I flashed Flinny's 4.2.1 AOSP rom a few days ago, worked absolutely perfectly, today when I turned the radio to use 2g for an app I was testing then rebooted it just bootloops constantly. I have tried wiping/flashing the same rom again, a build of CM10 and another rom in the forum (a sense build), same issue on all, it boots to the welcome screen on AOSP and CM10, and to the home screen on the other rom, then just reboots. I flashed AOSP again without gaps and managed to get to the home screen, I enabled aeroplane mode and it is absolutely fine (as in it doesnt reboot), then if I enable a data connection it just reboots as it had been doing.
Anyone else experienced this as I cant really pin it down to be anything other than a radio issue, even though I have not changed radio image.
This is the link for the logcat, initiated when I disabled aeroplane mode to when the device reboots. http://pastebin.com/R6SpZwWz
Any help very much appreciated.
Cheers

Aosp based roms issue.

Hello everyone. I tried to solve my issue before posting with many methods but unsuccessfully.
My problem is that I can't get my 3g/4g connected, after few minuts it's disconnect himself and won't reconnect while I make a reboot. Airplane mode don't work, disconnect and reconnect manually don't work. Well only one thing is working, it's changing the double sim data parameters (where we get "call sim1 or 2, data sim1 or 2.......).
It happens only on AOSP Roms, CM13, Exodus (I loved...) etc... Blaze Kernel don't change anything. And on stock rom, it works fine. But I don't like it, so laggy and battery draining...
Anyone had this, someone had fixed this before ?
Sorry for bad english.
Edit : Everything is working fine on Resurrection Remix, don't know why only that rom. All others are network buggy for me.
Edit 2 : Bad happiness, same bug on Resurrection Remix but a lot lesser often
Try to revert back to stock ROM

Signal problem

At 40% battery or below I suddenly lose signal. Doesn't come back on even when toggling airplane mode. Only comes back after a reboot.
Don't know if it's firmware or ROM related. I've tried 7.3.2 - 7.4.6 firmware, still happens. Happens on all the Nougat(haven't tried any other versions not even Miui) ROMs I've tried(NOS, AOSiP, Pure Nexus)

1) Full wipe system, data, cache, dalvik, internal storage and format with must use type "yes".
2) install firmware and ROM.

I always do that when flashing(I get OCD even though I know some parts aren't necessary sometimes). But problem still exist. Don't know if it's because of auto select network or something. I think there's only 1 time when signal isn't lost for 1 day. I just have to live with one reboot a day.
I'm also facing this issue. This happens every time to me no matter what my battery percentage is, i also flashed all kinds of miui roms even the oldest lollipop roms, but the issue still persist. Rebooting the phone only brings back network for sometime ( 10 minutes approx.). I also tried the same sim card on different phones, and it worked good. Also i have a second 3G sim which works nice, i think the problem is with 4G sims only.
If anyone has any fix please share.. :crying:
I was facing this issue few days back, now it's showing no sim card.
Only way I find to solve this issue is removing sim card, restore miui from fastboot, clean flash rom and insert sim again after first wizard setting

Super Weird WiFi Problem

Currently running the latest Pixel Experience ROM and it's solid overall.
But, I have experienced a super weird bug or glitch concerning the wifi and how it connects.
On the stock MIUI setup WiFi was solid and stable, didn't even have to give it a second thought. However, after rooting and ROMs the WiFi capabilities are seriously weird.
On both LineageOS and PixelExperience, whenever I try to to connect to my WiFi network, the phone takes down the whole network. And I mean the whole thing. It just tanks the network into restarting and I have no idea why. It should not happen, but it does.
And to actually connect the WiFi, I need to turn it on and off at least 3 times to get it to connect. But once it does connect it stays connected. It's pretty annoying when I go out and come home and the phone has to jump through these hoops just to get WiFi working properly.
I don't think that it has to do with the Pixel Experience ROM because I've updated it twice now and the problem still persists, so I'm just left thinking that maybe it has something to do with the vendor firmware that I used at the time when I was getting things set up.
Any thoughts? Would be a huge help!

Yes, most likely a Vendor Firmware issue. Try the latest.

Sounds good!
But quick questions, when flashing the new vendor firmware do I have to wipe anything? Or can I just download it and flash? And will flashing the new vendor firmware wipe my phone?
Thanks for the help again!

Just download and flash..no need to wipe anything. It will not delete your data too..
Edit: if your data not encrypted, you'll need to flash dfe (disable force encryption) as flashing vendor will encrypt your data.
