a guy said its this phones software is so buggy.is it true?and just a second question:how is the battery charging speed from 0-100?plz answer me ty
Well I have yet to see any problems and I use this thing heavy. Battery is getting good after 3 days use ,battery life always seems yo wear in on new ROMs so a new phone I guess the same. Charge with supplied charger is fast , 70% in 30 mins easy.
A lot of bugs I read about seem to be more user issues or environment issues , I have no WiFi, LTE, camera , screen, battery drain issues at all.
Greenify, amplify, xposed, rooted , latest update , nova launcher, nify, substranium, all up n running nice.
Tested several big games, smooth and quick to load, phone feels snappy, in comparison to my HTC m10 (broken screen hence I buy this) this phone is smoother, screen nicer, sound the same, camera better, in fact very impressed by this phone.
I guess so long as you know android you won't have issues , only if you are new to android you may miss the hand holding the big boys phones offer.
All in all buy this, read and learn, have patience and enjoy a great bargain.

Since Droid Eris owners don't have ROOT but have flashed the recent Android 2.1 + Sense UI [DUMP], how is it?
Battery life, lag, touch screen, does it move likes it's suppossed to, have curves in all the right places?
For me, it's kinda slow. I'm on KiNgxKxKlair DroidEris2G V0.1 and it's a good ROM but it does have it's shady moments.
How is it for you?
It runs extremely well for me! No lag at all! Runs way better than 1.6 ever ran for me, and I love the new features!
Much more responsive than 1.5, loading a web site takes A LOT less time, widgets don't seem to bog down the system.
Battery life (decent), lag(not really), touch screen (multi-touch!), does it move likes it's suppossed to(yes yes yes), have curves in all the right places(yes)?
2.1 on the Eris is what the phone should have had from the begining.

I also love the new widgets. It is pretty responsive for a V0.1 Port.
I also noticed that the Internet loads a lot faster. O think all phones should have Sense UI.
I want the frickin' nexus one keyboard
I'm not seeing the snappy-ness it's supposed to have here, every time I open an app it seems to lag a bit...
On the flip side of that coin, my battery is lasting around three times longer than it did prior, and I've got everything pretty much set up the same.
Normally one full charge lasted around 24 hours.
Friday I went home with it almost halfway drained and didn't bother to put it on the charger until around 11:30PM Sunday night, and there was still an 1/8th left (no I didn't go look at the percentage, just guesstimating by the meter in the notification area).
Edit because: I R UH GUD SPELLAR
My battery life is horrible now.
My battery life is noticeably improved and the device is definitely "snappier".
My Eris with the 2.1 leak is A LOT FASTER and less sluggish. The phone just works like it's supposed to.
Hello all,
I'm currently a Samsung galaxy s2 user, just switched from using the iphone 4 because of all the rumors about the galaxy s2. And till now im impressed by everything it has to offer except its battery life.
I love my galaxy s2, but the only problem is battery life, and thats the main reason im being pulled over to buy the iphone 4s!!..
getting that isnt the problem..
I tried way too many custom ROMS, different kernels etc, but ended up with an average 6-7 hr battery life with heavy usage and that doesnt even involve listening to music while commuting. If i did that as well, im sure my battery wud barely last 5 hrs... which isnt ideal at all, im sure everyone feels the same way... Right now im on stock KI3 firmware, rooted. KI3 is slightly better than what bell gave me as stock - KG2.
now i want some strong points of why i shouldn't move back. I've been an iphone user since the 2g iphone and it was amazing!
Only if i could improve my battery life on galaxy s2 i wouldnt have these temptations to move to iphone again.
Should I move back to the iPhone?
no, galaxy s2 is the best !xD
my battery is very good so i don't care just try some kernels or roms
iPhone 4s is much better than SGS2 IMO.
Better size, better display (imo SAMOLED+'s colours are too cartoony), better resolution, better camera, better audio, much better battery and a much faster processor.
Also, iOS has proper dual core optimizations and actually makes good use of the A5 chip, wheras with SGS2, you'll have to wait for a stable ICS rom comes out.
Despite the negativity of the i4s, I personally think it'll be one of the most underrated phones this year.
But that's just my opinion.
My s2 often gives me 16+ hrs of heavy usage (my phone is from the first batch) my other half got a white s2 a few weeks ago and he has dreadful battery life. Both same firmware ect. Although mine is made in korea both battery and handset. His is made in china. Different colour mainboards too. Mines blue his is green.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Well just to make the point clear, you will never get your sgs 2 to have as much of a battery life as the IP4S. iOS is simply much better at handling battery life than android.
Now it depends on what you want really. Do you value battery life over functionality/choice?
Personally what do you expect of a phone with a dual core 1.2ghz processor? If you expect 12 hrs now that is simply idiocy. You have a laptop that can do that? I don't cuz mine lasts 2 hrs with heavy usage. I haven't read of any laptop being able to last 12 hrs of heavy usage either. No I don't expect a laptop to have a battery life like that either. Now this is a phone with a processor better than most if not all netbooks, it is not going to have a 8hr+ battery life with heavy usage just like a laptop.
I feel your pain with battery life. Also, screen burn in isshowing its face on mine too. But threw iphone is waaaaaay too locked down to make it an easy choice.
Sounds like you dont have things set up correctly to me or your using some resource hogging apps.
Im on wifi all day, send between 40-70 sms a day, couple of phone calls, tweetdeck auto updating, around 20mins of music (well, podcast, but it is an audio file), auto updating of all my apps enabled in the market and the obvious hour or so web browsing and 10mins or so of minecraft when I sneak off for a break in the toilets and I get home with around 30%
Dont forget, your also comparing a closed up OS which has been around for a fair old while to an open one which is still reasonably new which each phone manufacturer has his way with before chucking the phones out
Im not going to fight the android corner as you admitted yourself you are 'looking for reasons to not move back'. Which sounds as though you have already made up your mind.
If you want to go get a shiny fragile phone with a half eaten apple on it by all means do Glad you've at least tried Android though, your light years ahead of 90% of Iphone owners who live around here lol.
must be something thats killing your battery in the background. I quite easily get over a day and between 5-6 hours screen on time. Longest ive had was 6hr 38 mins screen on.
Download better battery stats and see whats running in the background.
Lawl you all are missing a very important statement in his post. "HEAVY USAGE"
What is heavy usage? Web browsing, playing a 3d game, watching a video, recording a video, taking pictures, etc. So of course he is going to get 6-7hrs of battery life.
I agree with the above post. find out whats draining your battery. Shouldn't be that low...unless you are just sitting on your sofa browsing constantly because your so excited about a new phone like i was.
Also you can buy a dock charger and extra batteries set for cheap together (ankhers set) so you never have to plug your phone into a charger again
But it sounds like you have alot of money to burn...then why not...being in a locked system isnt so bad when your willing to just buy every app and media at premium prices and your happy with the interface
Thanks for the quick reply guys, and yes, i m loving my galaxy s2 as i mentioned earlier. And yes, im a heavy user, around 100 texts, playing 3d games (sandstorm, brothers in arms etc). I barely keep wifi on as i haf 6gb of data which is almost unlimited. and im getting 7 hrs, which apparently seems to be good. If thats the case then I have nothing to complain about...
And in terms of money, lol i dont have any... its just i could get an iphone if i sold this one... no way i could afford to keep both!
Stick to the SGS2 and wait for the SGS3 till then.
Hmm, If were I, I would like the iPhone 4S. The iOS 5's new feature iCloud and iMessenge really attracted me.
And can get many apps for it:
http://www.enolsoft.com/blog/best-free-iphone-4s-apps/
SGS2! iPhone4S is inferior in many many ways. It's a ****ty phone.
/ownership bias
u should wait untill the ICS rom is out. that should improve the battery life, because it will be customized to a dual core processor.
Iphone 4S is quite a good phone, but I'm personally against Apple's politics regarding software and price. I don't want Itunes, no format support like FLAC or MKV, no Flash. Also Android has more customization abilities in themes and menues.
I like the big screen and weight on the GS2. Well, the battery life could be better on SGS 2. But there's a Samsung 2000mah battery available at the moment and you can easily replace the battery.
I have been in the same boat in fact I have swapped my Iphone 4 for a SGS2 three times, until finally I realise that the SGS2 really is a SuperPhone.
The reason you will find battery life not quite as good as the Iphone4, is basically down to the fact the Iphone is not actually doing a lot.
I waited until iOs5 before swapping back to this truly, greatest phone since the HD2, iOs5 really is a disappointment to say the least, you get a pull down bar that kinda copies Android to a point, but fails in the fact with its Iphone basic-ness yet again, the weather links to the most basic of weather apps, the notification animations appear at the top all very nicely, but the top bar doesn't state that notifications are listed within, they tried to match the Androids version but in true Iphone style, didn't leave in the design to allow users to feel its their notifications.
One thing you will never get away from even jailbroken is the fact you are not free to choose...you will never own your Iphone, it owns you, Android on the other hand is the opposite and with the SGS2, its power and freedom is far more adaptable than the iphone4.
Hello,
Please forgive me if this is placed in the wrong forum.
Anyone bought the Vernee Apollo (NON-light)?
I did, and so far I'm not pleased. The battery is very, very poor. The camera does not feel like a 21mpx Sony and the OS feels slow.
Does anyone know if there is any development on a custom rom? Tried searching Google and XDA. (This is not a request).
What are your experiences of this phone?
Regards,
The phone itself looks great and for 250 bucks, i think the camera is okay. in good light conditions it taks good photos and the new update improved the ingerprint sensor a lot. the battery life is poor but if you charge your phone for half an our in the afternoon you will get over the day. i dont experience a slow os, it feels really fast. overall i like the phone but a very disappointing issue that i have is that it disconnects from mobile network while in standyby. i cant receive calls or messages until i reboot my apollo.
Vernee apollo /non lite /
hi ... anyone knows how to root this device ?
Vernee apollo
HI,
I got my Vernee Apollo just yesterday and to be honest even though phone has a good built, I am not quite impress by the functions of it. The vibration option in my opinion doesn't work so great it gives the phone a very cheap feel. To be honest it sounds like it is vibrating but doesn't feel that way. Display is good not stellar with the VR headset tho. But I guess for the price it is not bad. However usd$250.00 is like TT$1700.00 so which makes it a big deal for me. I am yet to see how it stands up as time goes by. I however had some hiccups on the first day. The went into boot-loader mode by mistake but i was like a headless chicken because everything was in Chinese sighs but I manage to get out i am hoping everything runs smoothly from here tho. :fingers-crossed:

After about 2 months of use, I have to say that I don't recommend this phone at all. Keep in mind that I am using the phone with the MadOS 7.1 and not the original rom. I have two main issues but they are both important. The first issue is the battery, it is not powerful at all and this is not the problem at all. Vernee lied that the phone has a battery of 3500mah battery but the battery capacity is actually ~3100mah. The major problem that I faced is that the battery sensor. The battery can go from 20% to 80% in seconds and as you can imagine it can do the opposite as well. The battery readings are not accurate at all. The second problem is the 3G-4G connectivity. For some reason sometimes the phone is slow in connecting to the 3G-4G network, which is pretty disturbing. The overall performance is pretty good for me, I didn't face any lags.
Hello G6'ing Canadians!
I noticed the only thread on here relating to Canadian models of the LG G6 on here was specifically for Rogers, so I thought I'd start a more general thread for us.
I'm really liking my (Koodo) LG G6 so far. The screen and size of the phone are amazing, the camera is the top-notch quality I expect, and the battery life has been better than my G5 or G4 before this one... That is until today. I'm running the software version H87310d and just got an OTA update. I noticed that my battery was draining quickly after the update, so I cleared my cache and reset, but it still seems to be draining quickly even when it's just sitting on my desk.
I know this was an issue for some others at launch, but mine has been fine until today. I'll have to see what it's like tomorrow after a full charge, but still a little worried.
Anyone else experiencing this?
What do you guys think of LG's latest?
I just switched to the G6 after returning TWO defective S8+. I like it so far. Camera is a little slow for my liking though.
*Edit* Oh look, just getting an update. V10d.

Yeah, the camera is a bit slow, but how can you beat dual 13mp shooters and full manual control on video?

My battery has been far better since the update. I swear the camera quality has gone up also.
Hi guys, I also have a Koodo Black G6 and got the H87310d update yesterday as well... haven't tested it enough to say it's made a difference yet. So far battery life has been decent, although it seems to slowly be using more and more battery (I'm assuming degradation of the battery capacity, eventually will settle)
What exactly did the update have? this is the only thread so far that I could find on it, so I joined up XDA finally.
The only gripe I have is with wireless charger... it's just do damn slow! I think it's about 2% for 10 minutes of charge. I'm using a Samsung Fast Charge base with the LG fast charger that came with the phone. I tried a Samsung charger from the wife's S5 and was even slower.
I noticed various reports on the wireless charge, some people get fast charge with non-major branded chargers, others get better results than I do with the same charger, etc...

I read somewhere that the update adds "safety features" like your phone telling you if the charging port is wet, but I'm not certain that was for this particular update or not. So, who really knows? At least they're supporting the handset so far.
Regarding wireless charging, mine is super slow, but better than that. I'm using an Aukey wireless pad (not fast charging) and it does about 1% every three minutes. Perhaps their Fast Charging version will work better. I didn't get it because you need to use a fast charging base for it to work and I'm using all of mine already.
I'm going to pickup an Insignia Qi Fast charger at Bestbuy (last day of sale today at $19.99) and see how this works, I don't know if it's maybe the Samsung Qi Pad not supporting Fast charge 3.0 on the LG charger maybe that's causing the slow charging issue... will try and find a Samsung fast charge 2.0 adapter and hook it up to the wireless base and see if that improves the speed.
Seems like my issue was with the Samsung base... I bought the Insignia Qi wireless base, popped it up overnight with the LG Fast charger attached rather than the one that comes with it, and when I was up at 5am the phone was already at 100%.
With the Samsung base I would be lucky to hit 80% with or without a case.
So far I've been loving this phone. I had the G2 and Nexus 5 and the G2 was one of my favorite phones I've owned. The G6 is a fantastic device, fast, and the battery lasts pretty long even with the screen on and gaming. My last few devices have been Nexus phones, and coming from the 6P the main thing i hate about the G6 is the lack of root. I've been so used to getting a new phone, going home and rooting it before doing adding my accounts and apps onto it. I was at the store and i saw they had an amazing deal on the G6, so i did a very quick google search for LG G6 Root, and i saw a few threads about it. I thought NICE! they have root for it already so i pulled the trigger. Got home...and read through the threads to realize they didn't lol. Still like the phone and i'll keep it for a few months and if no root comes out i'll give it to the wife and maybe grab a Pixel 2 when they launch. Overall though if you don't need root, this phone is great!
Yup, just picked up a G6 the other day. It's nice.
The software lacks a few features, and I have to retrain myself to handle it since I was so used to my previous phone and had it all set up just right.
The battery life seems ok, nothing special, but still early days.
I'm also hoping for root, not particularly for custom roms (which would be nice) but mostly to delete some bloat, and maybe customizing the nav bar. On that note:
Can we customize the navbar? Making it a bit smaller would be nice, but particularly changing the icons or something.
And is there a soft lock screen solution that works? Regular solutions don't work on nougat, the time out solutions also don't work (I suspect because of aod) and I use a custom launcher, so no double tap to lock.
Works with Nova Launcher Prime.
Edit: I refer to DTTL

Did you set it up using nova launcher? I use action launcher, and while it supports a double tap gesture to lock, it doesn't work on nougat.
I know nova launcher has a time out setting.
Yep, had it set up on several phones from Kitkat to Nougat. Works every time, I import the same Nova backup.

Makes sense. Do you use the timeout unlock?
The regular lock version blocks you from unlocking with the fingerprint password.
If I use the stock launcher it works fine, but just like nova, action launcher has a double tap option, and that disabled the stock one.
Oh well, I'm sure I'll figure it out.
Lock timer > 15 seconds after screen timeout.
I spent very little time on the stock Launcher so never tried many settings or options.

That's interesting. I've tried several types and for longer than 15 seconds, but didn't work.
Although greenify lock did, but takes too long.
Anyway, this battery life. Damn.

Yeah, I'm on the xda app, so I dont see sign.
I don't think it should matter though, the V20 launched with nougat.
But maybe there is some small hardware difference with, and that makes up the issue.
I can lock by double tapping the status bar, it's just a little.. Sloppy.
I dropped my OP3 the other day and cracking the screen but... Was not too upset as I have ALWAYS wanted a 6P AND i dine just that. Snatched up a clean one off swappa.
Can't wait...
Bad idea bro ? I mean, it's a nice phone and all but the performance is not that good and bad battery, degrading too fast, dying too quick and early shutdowns. Like mine is shutting down sometimes at 30%... My phone is Really useless ATM.

I always regretted not getting the 6P and getting the OP3 and had the chance to try one out and I guess we will see.
How common is the bootloop problem?
I just hope I don't get that bootloop problem I been reading about. I'm not out much and need a phone quick.. I spent 140 so I'm not out much. Trying to decide if I want to go Pixel or OnePlus for my next device.

I've had my 6P for 2 years and it hasn't boot looped on me yet. Battery performance is comparable to the day I got it with no early shutdowns (yet), but I always do everything I can to extend the life of the batteries in my phones such as:
- Use a 1 amp charger (no fast charging ever)
- Only charge while the phone is off
- Never use the phone while charging or when the processor/battery is hot
- Avoid charging the phone too often. Try to only charge once a day at most and don't leave the charger plugged in
- Don't let the battery get below 20%
- If using the phone for gaming, stop and give the phone a break if the processor/battery start to get too hot
- More I'm forgetting that can probably be found with a quick Google search
These battery "habits" have been successful in extending the usable life of the batteries in my Note 3, Note 4, Nexus 6, and Nexus 6P. I use a kernel manager like ElementalX Kernel Manager to display the CPU and battery temperatures in the notification area so I can keep an eye on them and stop using the phone if it begins to get too hot.
I pretty much only use my phone for texting, calls, and browsing the internet (no gaming or anything that really puts a lot of stress on it), so that's probably why mine hasn't died yet.
