Hello xda community,
Previously I owned a TF103C and on that one Asus supported the community with a lollipop ROM. Updating the device was pretty easy and lollipop worked hell lot better than 4.4.2 Kitkat. I just received a TF103CG from Ebay and its kind of bitter surprise that it seems that updating to lollipop is not easy if even possible. After hours of googling and forum reading I couldn't locate anything which has a promise of success.
Alright, sorry for the (probably) totally dumb question, but... is the ROM offered by Asus for the TF103C is applicable to the TF103CG as well? As far as I know the difference between the C and the CG model is that the latter has a 3G modem built in, otherwise the specs are the same. The build number of my device is KVT49L-WW_epad-11.2.2.24-20150810 release-keys 044000255_201405090027, the device is currently rooted.
Thanks in advance,
i-
I saw some post, that says, that there is no way to flash our device. The only variant is to flash it to stock if you have some troubles (unsucessful rooting or flashing uncompatible fw etc.)
so now i'm worry about optimisation this device using any tweaks for memory cleaning.
ah damn. i installed the twrp for nothing then T_T

Hello fellow transformer prime users,
I have been looking over many threads on how to update to JellyBean and have not come to the decision of whether I should update at the current moment or wait. The reason I feel uncomfortable with updating is that I soft bricked my prime when I did the .21 to .28 update, all due to my human error of not triple checking over myself. Thankfully I have superior knowledge of the android system because I have been using Android since the G1 days (yup I am not a noob, but neither am I an expert in these things, you can say that I am an intermediate power user). Fortunately I was able to unbrick using multiple methods and abd tricks that I found on these threads, and I truly thank everyone of the big guys out there for helping out though my difficult time. Although I had alot of fun in that ordeal, I surely DO NOT WANT TO GO OVER THAT HARDSHIP AGAIN (sorry but I have been emotionally scared for life).
Although it may seem that this post is question oriented I would like to note that it is mostly a plead for an update method suited for my particular setup.
On to the details:
At the current moment my prime is being used as a daily driver. It is my college life all bundled in to one awesome device.
Android version 4.0.3 ICS
It is rooted
it has IML74. US_epad-9.4.2.28.2-20120529 build
stock to the root <----get it.... its a joke
It has latest superuser
it has been backed up
Voodoo OTA root keeper shows 100%
The device is NOT UNLOCKED, it does not say that it is unlocked on start-up, ITS LOCKED
It has CWM 5.5.0.4
My first method of rooting was done though vipermods exploits
Last time I updated I just flashed the proper/suitable stock .28 build that I have now through CWM
At the current moment everything works wonderfully and I love this device.BUT I am afraid of bricking it...I have had bad dreams....BAD BAD NIGHTMARES....
So the question is...I mean comment...(sorry if this does not belong on here)...
What would be a best update method for my current setup
I thank all that help me out and apologize to the forum members and admins if this does not belong here...
I have made a video showing you my current setup youtu.be (sorry, delete this stuff, sorry) /xCQP6O1NpAY , thank you and I hope to soon be playing around with JB
I will also make a video of my update process so others with the same issue can follow my methods.
Thank you,
SpeedV

More info....
Before my .28 update with sparky's rom i had the .21 vipermod exploit....i had flashed cwm and updated my rom from the previous .18, and even before that i had root through vipermods initial root method.
I know my bootloader is locked, but how than is it posible for me to flash roms for unlocked bootloaders. The sparky rom that i flashed is supposedly for unlocked bootloaders.
I am sooooo confused....i dont want to brick my prime again.
More and more info.....
HOW I BRICKED IT BEFORE:
so i was on .21 and wanted to update to latest .28 build
I manually downloaded the stock.28 rom from asus website
I updated through icon on bottom right hand area...you know
All was going well then boooooom i got soft bricked with a bootloop
Did the popular unbrick method through abd then i found sparkys rom.
Flashed sparkys rom through cwm (i uploaded the rom through this abd command file mover thing i found on another xda forum whiles in cwm)
Flashed and installed perfectly
Ok now what should i do....unlock my device and twrp recovery it or whatever its called and then go from there?
Or just wait....i dont know where to start...and frankly i am very displeased with the amount of clarity out of the top guides out there....and all i see is a plethora of bricked devices...sad face...
Ok once again Thank You for your time and efforts.
SpeedV
Hey, could you please give some more information and links about the cwm you used and which popular adb unbrick method?
Weired issue...i heard about perfectly unlocked primes, about primes with locked bootloader "forever" (like my device), but never heard anything about an invisible unlock after softbrick...
Maybe somebody can figure out where "the magic" happened...

I just replied to you but my post did not go through....i spend a good hour finding stuff out for an answer....and now all gone....
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
ok simple answer: I unlocked device...I think through a vipermod primetime release that had it...i think v4 unlock tool don't remember
was on .11 then on .18 then to .21 now on .28
did root with vipermod, and installed cwm in .18 or .21 dont remember
got bricked when i manually updated to .28 from download from asus site
think that there is a method of binging back primes that are bricked
using quick abd pusher...thats what i used in cwm to get sparky's rom on prime and flashed
now working
I really dont give a damn anymore...I hate xda forums right now soooooo bad. I just wasted 1 HOUR, or even more 1+ hours with a perfect reply and all gone because of the stupid forum....
sorry man
I'm done
I've been reading forums and searching forums all day, but can't seem to find a definitive answer to whether I'll be able to root my specific version of tablet or not, there's so many different types, build numbers, UK versions/US versions my head is close to blowing! Any advice would be soo much appreciated.
I bought a tablet off Ebay, a GT-7510 (US version I think, although I live in the UK) which came with Honeycomb installed. I then updated OTA to ICS 4.0.4, but it seems pretty laggy in general compared to the other Galaxy tabs I've seen, now I'm at the point where I'd like to root it and try some custom roms to see if they're any better than the stock ICS rom.
Here is the info for my tab which I think is relevant:-
Android Version 4.0.4
Kernel version 3.1.10
Build number IMM76D.UELPL
I've found so many different methods of how to root certain variations, but can't be certain if one of them applies to my tablet, whether I'd have to flash it back to Honeycomb, whether it only works for UK or US versions etc etc, that I've given up searching and thought I'd start my own post, and hope that somebody could tell me whether I can definitely root my device, and which would be the best method to do it? I have no warranty on my device as it's a refurb, so rooting doesn't bother me, but I'm worried about using the wrong method and bricking it.
Really hope somebody can help me, thanks very much in advance for any advice.

For the P7510, rooting it is dead easy - just download a recovery and flash it using ODIN. See the rooting guides here. Honeycomb doesn't complicate things at all.
Thanks k1mu, when you say honeycomb doesn't complicate it at all, some of the guides I've read specify that they're for honeycomb installations only, I have the stock ICS rom which was installed OTA, is Android version not an issue anymore, and the guides will work no matter which version you have installed? Also, my tablet is a GT-7510, not a P7510, not sure what the difference is, if any? Sorry if I seem dumb, just want to be sure before I go ahead.
Thanks very much for your help.
Just to update for anybody searching who is as confused as I was, I got root access using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029664 from user Jovimon.
i recently bought a asus tf201 on ebay and the android version on it is 4.0.3. As i found out later, it's also been unlocked. i have twrp v.2.2.1 installed and i want to install the latest version of android. i tried downloading the latest version of android from the asus website to my sd card and followed the instruction. but when i get to the twrp interface, i don't know how to get the update installed. it seems like it does not detect any data on my sd card. any help would be greatly appreciated. Bear in mind that i'm an absolute noob and i don't even know what "unlocking" a tablet means.
Thanks a lot for your time guys.
If your ASUS is unlocked I would not instal anything from ASUS. If you want to update you are going to have to flash a ROM, and if you are still looking to update to 4.2 you are going to have to flash the JB bootloader.
I would suggest browsing the developers forum for a ROM you might like and CAREFULLY read the posts about upgrading.
Hi everyone,
If my title makes me sound like a noob, it's because I pretty much am. Please be patient.
Here's the situation: I bought a second hand TF201 and it came with Katkiss 6.0.1. It's performance is pretty bad. I'd like to drop it down to kitkat. I get the process of downloading the ROM, but since I'm downgrading, is there anything special I have to do?
Also:
Could anyone recommend a kitkat ROM?
How do I find which bootloader and version I'm using? When I hold down power and vol. down I see "Android cardhu-user bootloader (I assume that's it?) <1.003> released by 'ww_epad-10.6.1.27.1-20130711' A03"
I am in Canada so I assume I need a "world wide" version?
It has Teamwin on it.
A key thing is that I need the HDMI to work as that's one of the main reasons I got this tablet.
Thanks for your help in advance!
Hey,
So I was recently thinking of upgrading my phones android, since its only a ****ty 4.2, but I've been running into some problems having never done this before, let me be as quick and concise as possible.
Phone: Its an Evolio x6, I cant post external links yet, but its a 5.5inch, 2gb RAM, 1.7ghz octa-core processor thingy, made by a romanian company so thats why its pretty rare to see anyone using it.
I'm trying to upgrade it to something around an android 5, but anything above 4.4 would work, my problems are:
1. Is any ROM gonna work? Does the ROM have to be compatible with the screensize/hardware? From what I've seen specific phones have specific ROMs they can use, but since barely anyone has this phone I cant really find anything online.
2. If I install some non-functional ROM, can I recover the old OS? Since I cant find the factory ROM anywhere on the internet.
3. I've seen quite a few guides, but most of them mention "google a good ROM for your phone", are there any ROMs that you guys think might work for mine?
4. When I go into recovery mode I dont have any Nandroid options/backups, is there another way to backup everything on the phone?
Thanks for your time, sorry for bothering you guys, and have a great day ^.^
