Currently I have configured my Samsung Google Nexus phone to make calls over data network. My configuration is cSipSimple <--> pbxes.org and Google voice. the setup is working fine for both 4G and 3G network connections. In WiFi I am not receiving any calls if I am behind NetGear wireless router. it is working fine if I am behind other brand routers and in hot spots.
Can you help me in determining the root cause and fixing the issue.
thanks.
Hi all. I just bought a XT912 unable to get any 3G/data connection. I'm from Singapore and the bands are 2G-900/1800 and 3G-2100. I saw the specs on gsmarena stated that this phone supports 2100mhz band so I don't understand why I'm able to get any data connection. Ive set the mobile network to wcdma. Voice call is working well. Only problem is no data. Any inputs will be appreciated. Thanks!
Update
Problem solved. Added the user and pw in apn.
Did you set up any APN?
Hi, I have a problem with using my phone to tether. I use a Galaxy S4 Verizon Unlocked and use the T-Mobile nano sim unlimited 4G LTE data.
This is my mobile info :
+ Model number : sch i545
+ android verson 4.3
+ baseband : i545VRUEMK2
+ built number : JSS15J.I545VRUMK2
+ rooted: yes
I can call, text, use the internet, but I can't tether! I have fast.t-mobile.com as the apn, and have tried epc.t-mobile.com as the apn also.
Here is where I get confused: When I set it on GSM, I can tether, but I only get up to 3G/H+ speeds, which max around .5mbps for me (I live in Portland). When I set it on LTE/CDMA, or Global, I get 4G LTE speeds, which gets up to 3-5mbps, but I'm not able to tether. I have tried numerous tethering apps, I really don't think it's the app; I've tried tethering to different computers also, and the phone itself seems to be the problem. When I factory reset, tethering on "Global" and "LTE/CDMA" works, but in the course of downloading apps and setting up LTE and my phone in general, tethering stops working. I was messing around with the settings yesterday, and DID get tethering to work both on "Global" and "LTE/CDMA", but then it stopped working again today. The error message when I can't tether is "cannot connect to DNS server".
I've searched forums all day, and have not found an answer.. Please help! Someone suggested finding a app. to change the network settings to GSM/LTE, but I couldn't find how to do that.
I also have an I545 on T-Mobile, 1gb/mo @ lte speed. Tethering works fine for me but can't afford the data it gobbles.
To set the preferred network, go to google play and download Advanced Signal Status. Run it. Look at the info then scroll to the bottom and click Additional Info, then Device Information. Look at all that other info then scroll down to Set preferred network type. LTE/GSM auto (PRL) works for me.
It might be that I'm rooted and the rom I'm using too.
Yesss it works
THANK YOU!! I downloaded the Advanced Signal Status app, then set it to LTE/GSM auto (PRL), setup a new APN "epc.t-mobile.com", set that as the active apn, then made it inactive and selected "fast.t-mobile.com" to be the active apn again, and VOILA! it works!

I've been very happily using my Verizon prepaid Moto E with the trick to unlock usage of the GSM radio found elsewhere on this forum. The only thing I can't seem to figure out, is how to make the built-in tethering function work. Since I can't root this device (VZ version hasn't managed to get an unlocked bootloader, it seems), I'm stuck using the built in functionality. I tried adding "dun" to the APN type settings, but that didn't work.
Activating the hotspot allows other devices to connect, but they can't "see" the internet. I've heard that this SIM I'm using (freedompop) can be configured to work in phones like the BLU R1 by just adding DUN to the apn type string, but it seems to make no difference on here. I can't confirm if the SIM works with tethering because I don't have access to another unlocked phone at the moment. Can someone help me verify if the problem is with the phone or the freedompop service?
Hi,
I am using my Lg G5 H820 in Asia. It was working fine on 2G, 3G and 4G but after I reset my phone after a while to refresh the system... It stopped working on 3G and 4G. However, GSM is working. More curiously the Advanced Network settings in Networks section is not there anymore. Any solution?
