Why Micromax Stock launcher ( name launcher3) started Showing Ads ? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a device name Micromax Q424. From last 4-5 days I am getting full screen, middle screen and bottom of screen ads. There is nothing ads by option to tell who is giving those ads. Here is screen shot of ads

The ads wasn't showing in notification bar so it was hard to find out who did it. Later i find out launcher S3 did this because ads file was in its android launcher3 folder. There isn't any option to disable this app. It is system app comes default in Micromax.
Firstly I thought it may be due to stock update apk because it is known to showing ads in notification bar. But later i found original one.
One thing i still didn't figure out is Why It is only showing ads from 9Apps? also it auto download the app without asking on Mobile data. I didn't visit 9apps website ever as i remember in past 1-2 years.
This is serious issue. Can anyone suggest why this happened? Why only 9apps ads?
Does 9apps own this stock apk now? If it is then its a big issue because if anyone buy the system apps like this from its maker then its a huge risk for user privacy.

"galaxy security update" Samsung app

Hi,
While looking through Samsung Apps i found a free tool from Samsung called "galaxy security update". I dont find any mention of the tool on XDA, it seems to be an anti malware app of some sorts, but i'm concerned about its permissions...more specifically it wants to directly make phone calls -_-
Has anyone tried it ? I'm worried that it's actually spyware and not really from Samsung.

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
If it's in Samsung Apps, theoretically it should be safe. I gave up my privacy the second i started using Android. Sharing all those passwords, mail info , social networks info and so on can't be 100 % safe no matter what. I don't even bother to read apps' permissions anymore, but i only install apps from the market which other people regularly use. No app sent sms/mms or automatically called someone without my knowledge/permission. I'm more worried about call/sms costs rather than my privacy being violated, which i'm pretty sure gets raped a lot
I noticed this app too but I am unable to install it.
As shown in the attached image file, the installer always finishes with the message 'Application not installed'.
This happened to me on KH1/KH3. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

Strange issue with my SCH-I535 regarding facebook.

Hello xda devs and members i am having a really strange issue with my samsung S3 Model SCH-I535. The problem is about facebook, i usually don't use facebook app as i find it leggy and unnecessary coz i use fb to check fb posts only... The problem is when i purchased s3 and performed a factory reset and then installed my desired apps. After completing this step i opened chrome to browse facebook but surprisingly it showed me text mode of facebook with no images and colors. i thought it might be a browser issue i installed mozilla firefox but still ended up with that text version of facebook... it happens in all third party apps who redirect us to fb to share or like certain stuff. I've googled to get this issue fixed and to see if someone else has had the same issue and how did he overcome from that.. but it seems like i am the only one who's having this issue and living in a hope to get out of this
.. please help..

Would you know how this affect battery?
ONE GR8 8
Still no, I setup it today and I had half battery already. Will see from tommorow.
I installed the update but now it keeps crashing, making the phone freeze completely for a short period. Anyone know of a way to roll back?

Click to collapse
Not sure if it will work but try this:
Go to settings - applications - Always On Display, 3 dots and uninstall updates.

How to hide the "Full screen display" bar on EMUI 8

I'm writing this as a guide for my future self (and for the people who find nothing when searching).
If you're like me, you're happy with your Huawei experience (except for them nerfing the bootloader unlock thing), but one thing I hate is this bar.

When it shows up, I usually click it, then click OK, and the game or app I'm using becomes full-screen most of the time. It doesn't really bite me until I open an app like DuckTales Remastered, which doesn't work in full screen mode. This is when you notice that the bar can't be hidden or dismissed, and you will often touch it by accident, making the confirmation dialogue pause the app and break your immersion, or worse, the app restarts in full screen and you lose all your progress.
If you have this problem, download hide full screen by huawei by kaipochi, and open it. Permit it to draw over apps, and you will have a bar display over the full screen bar. You click the number to cycle through three sizes depending on your phone, you can click the bookmark to change the size settings and create shortcuts that open the app with the bar, and click the X to close it.
Hope this helps EMUI 8 users!

Hidding status bar while scrolling down a web site

Hi everyone, i'm new to XDA in general, so appreciate it a lot that you can read my post .
I'm currently trying to enable an option in my Galaxy S21 (not the plus nor the ultra) so that i can hide the status bar while scrolling down a web site in order to take a better advantage of the screen size. I've just read a couple of posts about this OneUI Tuner app developed by some senior members of the community, however i've not been able to download the app and test it. So, could someone please help me find the download url for that app or maybe give some more insight as to wether it might work correctly in Android 12 or in general what other option is there available to hide the status bar.
Thanks a lot and have a nice day
Try this. May not work on 4.0...
I use Galaxy Goodlock Quickstar to hide all that junk on my N10+'s.

Nice, i just tried that. However, i don't really want to get rid of it all the time, just when i scroll down a web site. For example, something like this option available in the Samsung default web browser, i'd like to have it also for chrome, let's say
