kenzo/Kate 4G bands - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

I'm confused on whether to buy the Kate or kenzo version of the rn3p. I've read that Kate has more 4g bands but kenzo has better rom support. Sellers have assured me that even the kenzo will get 4g. If I get a Kenzo and flash different firmware it shouldn't have any issues on 4g right?

Kate has more bands than Kenzo. It's a hardware limitation and you cannot get more bands on Kenzo, no matter which firmware you will flash.
Whether you need these extra bands depends on where you live.

I've talked with several kenzo owners stateside that claim 4g works. I'm in Indiana and Use ATT towers. Guess I'm just being overly cautious, I can always return it.

AT&T uses bands 2, 4, 5 and 17 in Indiana. 2, 4 and 5 are supported by both Kenzo and Kate. Neither one supports band 17.
You will be fine with Kenzo then

Roger that, there was talk about a band 20 and that threw me off. I'm on net10 but they use att towers so I'm good. thanks for the assistance.

Kate devices support band 20, which I think is only really in use in Europe, but I think some carriers might start using it here eventually. Regardless though, you have other bands covered, so it's no problem. One thing to point out though, any Kenzo ROMs work fine on Kate devices, you just have to make sure you flash the correct firmware files first.

There are 2 kenzo versions, one with band 4 and one without.
Also all new kenzo have goodix for which sucks, some people even replaced with fcp.
I have a Kate after kenzo USB died, and reception is better, fcp fp, all roms and kernels work fine.

Do you have a problem finding cases for Kate? I read it's bigger and most cases are spec'd to kenzo

Personally, I don't use cases, but I do use a belt holster, and the one from my BB Priv fits my kate perfectly. Not sure if that'd be your situation or not, but figured I'd at least mention my experience.

I'm actually using a kenzo tpu case atm, fits almost perfectly.
There are lots of cases on aliexpress for kate right now and I ordered a few spare ones just a couple weeks ago.
Only issue I can see is replacement parts, while some might be interchangeable, the screen isn't, and theres no replacement screens for kate yet.
I saw one guy who used a kenzo screen and it worked, just had small gaps on top and bottom.

Well my oneplus has had the screen replaced 3 times, so maybe the kenzo with replacement options would be smart. Everyone swears up and down the kenzo will work. Can always return I suppose.

Yeah the only annoyance really is the goodix fp, although some people reported xosp goodix fix works with LOS too.

You shouldn't see a difference in service with AT&T but you will have more trouble finding accessories like cases and tempered glass screen protectors for Kate. I bought the Kate version because I prefer the Snapdragon processor.

Purchasing LeEco Le Max 2 - AT&T

I am thinking about purchasing the LeEco Le Max 2 to use with AT&T. I've been reading on XDA and it seems like the US variant is the x829 one. I'd love to have the 6GB RAM model but the x829 does not have 6GB RAM.
Is there anyone here using the 6GB RAM model without issues (especially getting LTE to work) on AT&T? or maybe T-Mobile? If yes, which hardware variant do you have? The x820/x821/x82x...etc? and from where did you buy your device? Please share the full link if you have it.
Also is there a guide that shows which bands each variant supports?
Thanks guys, really appreciate any feedback.
Google "le max 2 x829 128gb" you'll find many places to purchase a 6gb/128gb x829 for as low as $245. I have the 4/64 x829 running stock rom on T-mobile with full coverage on lte. To my understanding the only band that's problematic is band 20 which we dont use in the united states. I bought it for my wife who wanted a rose gold model which is not offered in the 829 but I forced the gold 829 variant on her because I wanted direct access to the 829 rom so I can do some deving on it. I'm ordering a rose gold 4/32 for her Thursday for $193. When it arrives I'm going to clone her rom directly to the 820 then take over the 829 and have some fun. As for the 829 we currently have she loves it, loves the screen loves the camera loves the new ui (I hate it but to each their own). Call quality is great, volte works and even wi-fi calling on tmo works. As a comparison my wifes last phone was a Moto X 2015 (xt1575)
@castuis Thank you for the information. Do you mind if I ask from which website/seller you brought the phone? also where are you seeing the 6gb/128gb for $245?
Got mine from tinydeal. Ali express for the 128gb but they bumped it up to $259 about an hour ago, plus you couldn't pay me to order from them, made that mistake a few years back.
I am awaiting a silver 6GB/128GB from coolicool.com.
My first order with them, but they have been conversing with me via email since I changed the shipping address.
I 'should' have it with the next week? I hope it arrives and has a good fingerprint scanner?
@fcreeves I'm thinking about ordering from coolicool as well. Did you order from the Hong Kong warehouse or the Europe warehouse? Can you please let me know the condition of the phone when you receive it and which variant is it? x820 or x821 or x822 or x829?
A friendly word of warning. Success with the phones on T-mobile is not an indicator of how well they will work on AT&T, even though they are both GSM networks. For example, if voLTE is important to you, you are very likely not going to get it on AT&T. It is not automatically provisioned on AT&T, unless they know your phone intimately (and they don't know the Max 2 from a tin can and a string.) The first line of tech support refuses to even enable it on "unlocked" phones. There's also no means for WiFi calling, via an app or otherwise, unless you count the microcell boxes.
I'm tempted to call "BS" on anyone who says they are using these features on AT&T with these phones, based on the time I have spent on the phone with tech support..
Under the right conditions (read: areas), the phones work great on the AT&T network. Fast LTE data, and decent call reliability. But if if you want the bells and whistles, and enhanced reliability, the Max 2 can't deliver what the more mainstream brands can on AT&T. Even when right next to a tower, with the Max 2 showing full bars, I am unable to make calls, while every major branded phone brought into that same area has no problems. So something isn't 100% with these phones.
@RandyT2 I really appreciate the feedback.
@fcreeves, I'll be waiting for a feedback from you on the phone condition & fingerprint scanner.
I do have X829 64GB in the Boston area and I just got the Straight Talk AT&T nano sim yesterday. Popped it in, transferred my #. Had to change my APN in order to get LTE working, but everything seems good now. I don't know about VoltLTE, but everything else seems OK (for the moment).
With Straight Talk you have the option to go either Sprint/AT&T/T-Mobile or Verizon. I was using AT&T on my Nexus 5 so I thought I'd stick with it. Not sure if Verizon would be a better choice, but I didn't want to wait for them to send me another sim to test it.
The main issue for me right now is getting the fingerprint sensor working and rooting/flashing my ROM which seems a daunting task.
@Wagmans thank you for your feedback, not sure why many have issues with the fingerprint scanner and some don't have issues at all with it. It would be good to know if it's a hardware or software thing.

Can you give me some idea as to the ROM and Baseband version of the X829 phones you have? I really need WiFi calling, if I wish to keep this phone (which I do), and the way I understand that the T-mobile Wifi calling works is that the ROM detects that its an option based on the connection with the carrier, and the option just appears on the phone.
I'm ready to ditch AT&T because I have a fairly unique situation which makes the phone virtually useless to me without WiFi calling. But I need to make sure that I'm not switching, just to have the same issues, or to find out that only the X829 version supports it.
Thank you!

I think it's more of a software thing. We'll know once I root/flash it if that's the case. The root/flash process for this phone seems so involved. A little overwhelming- I hope I don't brick it.

It's too easy to flash TWRP, flash a new ROM, root and do all the things you need with it. This phone is practically unbrickable as you have a guide that teaches you how to unbrick it. Still, it's as easy as it gets to play with it.
@Wagmans please keep us updated if you get the fingerprint scanner to work
Yeah keep us posted. I'm interested in this phone. I have a Samsung S5 which I love and still use with no issues, but I'd like to have dual sim and have redpocket 99$ per year plan and Freedompop free data on the other. This set up will end up saving me hundreds of $$ per year.

Or a human thing. I got my wife the x820 in January. Immediately flashed TeamSpain's CM13 understanding the stock firmware had fingerprint scanner issues. All that, and only to learn she rarely gets the phone to accept her print, but when I pick it up it works every time. So there is obviously a human print component in the equasion that determines the FP scanner works, in addition to hardware & firmware.
I pulled the trigger on the TinyDeal 64 x829 today for $202 for myself. Leaving the Moto G4 xt1625 behind as a backup. I'm sorry, 2 GB RAM on my Moto G4 is insufficient. We expect our phones to be computers, and they are, but we'd never expect to run 2GB RAM on a modern day desktop. I'd really like to see a 32GB model with 6GB RAM.

I'll fool around with it. I'm still confused as to exactly which ROM I should flash and still have US Straight Talk/AT&T compatibility? Would the stock Indian ROM work? How about the Chinese? I don't know what the differences are (needs to have English, obviously). It would be nice to flash a stock ROM and be able to get the software updates from LeEco (as opposed to being locked out with my modified 16s now).
Oh, and as far as I can tell, VoLTE/MMS is working for me on AT&T in the Boston area.
So to sum up, everything is good for me on this phone except fingerprint and new/better ROM. I'll see if I can resolve that once I get some answers as to which ROM to flash.

I'd say if you want updates from LeEco, then don't flash. IMO security updates are really what's at stake.
Ideally:
(1) you want a stable rom with all the bells and whistles to make you happy, and
(2) the dev is updating the rom every MONTH with google's security patches.
But we don't live in an ideal world. TeamSpains CM13 rom may be the best google stock-like rom out there, but it appears not to be 'updated' anymore. It's very stable and everything just works. So from a performance standpoint, it's great. But from a security standpoint maybe not. But then again, branded carrier phones sometimes never get security updates

As far as I remember, the Chinese one has no limitations such as SIM1 4G and SIM2 only 3G or less. I'm using the Chinese one for quite some time and I'm happy with it. The Indian ROM has Play store but will add an encryption to your phone. In case you want to flash something again using TWRP, you have to format internal memory. The US version that was leaked 3-4 months ago had a limit of 4G on SIM1 only and 3G on SIM2.
Once you will flash the ROM, don't root it, otherwise you will not receive updates and you have to flash the new official stock again when it comes out. Search "manual gapps" to install Play Store on it.
Any ROM has English on it, even the Chinese, and it's not "translated"
About the AT&T compatibility, I'm not so sure. Maybe somebody from US can help on that matter.

I just flashed the 20s Chinese full package, fingerprint started working again. I live in Michigan, I get LTE on [email protected]/ straight talk. Everything works fine with that ROM

Am i hampered by having the chinese Redmi 5 plus?? Help please...

Ok, sorry about this bit of a noob (and the MIUI forums are a bit sarcy) you guys are usually helpful..ok, i bought a redmi 5 + from ebay, it came as the chinese model i.e MEE7 (not MET7 or MEG7) now when i boot up it says 'unlocked' under the Mi logo and there's a unlocked padlock symbol, the MIUI version is Global 9.5 Stable 9.5.11.0 (NEGMIFA) which i received as an OTA (so i assume i can get OTAs for this phone even though it's Chinese?)...now i've been told that i can't get band 20 (via MIUI forums and said i was ripped off) after checking on LTE discovery i'm on band 7 (i'm in the UK and with EE and i seem to get 4G+) is band 20 that important? how can i check what bands this phone has got? is band 20 faster? on net velocity i get 35.25mps download and 19.72mps upload., is this ok?..also will i be hampered in anyway with regards to future updates, including Oreo and MIUI 10...any help would be great guys, and cheers for helping a noob.
See.:good:
Band 20 is an issue in some countries where it is used more, and not in others. Don't know about the UK, but it is being rolled out more and more across Europe.
It's important because it's a low frequency band for good coverage both outdoors over a long range and deep indoors. This is the band that also gives you the good converge inside of the buildings.
Higher frequency bands have more capacity. Lower frequency bands have better coverage.
You shouldn't be missing anything else. Your phone should update fine with the global rom.

Ok cool, so i'm not crippled by the fact it's a chinese model then (as it updates fine via OTA) by the way how can i check what bands are on this phone?? the apps i've tried just tell the band being currently used (in my case 7) but nothing tells you what is available (on Mediatek you can use engineering mode) does a mode exist for QC snapdragon?
But : are you sure your are getting 4g+ and not only 4g?
Because many xiaomi phones including the 5 plus don't have interband carrier aggregation on bands 3+7 (only intraband which is used in China).
There is however a patch on the miui forum to enable it. But some users have reported that the resulting speeds are slower than 4g. Others haven't said anything.

Yes, search Google for the ### code tu access the engineering info. You can see the bands there.

it says 4G+ in the notification panel (next to my battery percentage) and i posted the mps in the first post...do those speeds (in your opinion) equate to 4G+...i just want to know if band 20 is unlocked? but there is no way of bloody checking?!

There are at least three versions of this same model (not variant);
First, the chinese version that was the first available in stores like Aliexpress, Gearbest and others (I bought this), it has firmware only in chinese and english and then to solve this some sellers flashed international rom to devices that were dispatched for other places in the world out of China and some devices came unlocked out of the box.
A second version precharged with international firmware (by the manufacturer) with more languages for the great demmand in the world.
These two previous versions came with the bands 4G: FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8 and there´s no way to enable more bands cause is a limitation hardware related.
A third version Global that came with the bands 4G:FDD LTE B1: 2100/B3: 1800/B4: 1700/B5: 850/B7: 2600/B8: 900/B20: 800MHz for a difference about 25Usd at starting in february; in red marked the added bands.

So should i really worry at not having band 20, or should i ask for a swap to a global version if it's going to cause me problems in the future with regards to OTAs (i.e MIUI 10 and Oreo etc) i have received working OTAs recently with no problems...
thanks for answering.

Mine is MEE7 version, there is no substantial differences, most likely is a method to mark the batches simply.
This version is the first chinese anyway the second has the same bands enabled, only the differences are the firmware pre-installed. Other simply way to check this is that this version came into a box very red with all chinese letters and the second comes in a red-orange-ish. Yes, sellers unlock bootloader in this first version to can flash international firmware more easily and without risks to brick device.
If your carrier works in the band 7 for 4G and also 4G+ then it has to work normally, Many countries don't work with the band 20, any of the bands allows implement the most advanced features so them depends on the carrier it mean that an operator can improve the reachability in a band but improve the strength signal in other; first option is most used in cities with less population to reach great distances and a second is used to improve the quality when demand it's highly required.
No worry about OTAs, updates, miui 10, this version is absolutely functional and working great.

Hi
If you can get hold of an O2 SIM try and see if it will work in your phone, if it does you have Band 20 (800), as O2 only use Band 20 in UK.

No, I´m very prideful for this device, it´s not a fake at all, the great difference is only the two bands enabled in the global (really) version but I didn´t need this.
There is something that I noted like a difference within miui roms and any aosp based rom, the signal in aosp roms is slightly better than in miui roms. A simple way to see the strength is going to Settings/about phone/status/sim status you will see a range normally between (in my experience);
- In aosp based roms it´s -83 to -91
- In miui or miui based roms it´s -91 to -97
When the level is more (in a negative scale) it´s mean better signal. That´s about cellullar signal not specifically the uploading/downloading of data, for this there should be an application in Play Store also some custom tweaked roms can improve this.

Ok so i'm getting 83dBm 57 asu? don't you mean when the level is 'less' in a negative scale i.e the lower the better?
Yes, i'm pleased by the phone, just a bit worried about future updates, to be honest (with regards to it being a foreign ROM on a Chinese phone) i don't use my data much (only when travelling abroad or journeys within the UK) otherwise i leech from wifi...looking forward to MIUI 10 (and fingers crossed an Oreo update in its wake)

No, definitely you don´t have nothing to worry about, remember that really all R5+ are chinese, I just referred to a chinese version to indicate how it´s recogniced the first version but Xiaomi considers all these versions like upgradable.
You have an excellent signal strength, you forgot the symbol (-) and it´s correct the stated before, in a positive scale a superior number is more and in a negative scale an inferior number is in the same way by the logic of the opposites; more.

Two Questions

1. Does Black Shark 3 Pro support HDMI out via usb-c?
2. Does it support volte in the USA at all?
Would appreciate answers as I'm considering this device but can't find answers to these two questions anywhere.
It supports HDMI to type C and they have an official cable for that..
Check the frequencies supported by the unit you will be buying.. For reference, check GSM arena for that

Thanks.
I know it supports the correct LTE frequencies, but I've had Chinese phones before that didn't get volte.
To be fair, I use cricket because I don't care much about data speeds, and maybe they only allow specific phones to get volte. I just want to make sure I don't buy and then have a useless phone by next year.
Thanks for the reply!

Thanks man, think I'm going to get it. Global version I'm looking at has every band I need, and I kind of want the massive screen more than the ROG3's superior specs.

Yes, cricket(ATT) you should have all bands. You might have an issue with volte though. ATT...errr cricket a real PITA with getting volte. I love the phone, other than missing some key tmo bands

Am actually going to move to mint I think, the volte thing has been annoying me for awhile. Are you missing bands for tmobile because you have the Chinese version? Because I checked the global and it has 2, 4, and 17 which appear to be the main ones.
Do you mind if I ask your personal opinion on the battery life? You seem like you've had it awhile ?

Batt life is insane. On mint you will be missing b 66 and 71. Same as tmo. I do at times, especially mediocre areas, have no signal, while my wifes phone has a signal. I guess i will deal with it. Overall i love the phone.

Question Unlocked Pixel 6

I am looking at getting the Pixel 6 (or possibly the 6 pro) and was checking out the Google store where they sell different versions of the 6/6pro.
I'm on Verizon and my current pixel is a Verizon version which has a locked bootloader. I've bricked my device twice because of failed OTAs and I want my next one to be an unlocked Google version instead of the locked down Verizon version. I want to be able to install TWRP like I used to with my Samsung devices (I left Samsung devices when they started locking them down).
In the fine print, it says the unlocked version does not work with Verizon's mmWave network (5G).
Is this correct? If I get an unlocked version it will not work with the fastest version of 5G? Or is this because it works with any carrier and they all use different 5G bands?
TLDR: I want a version that I can unlock the BL. Will I lose out on 5G if I buy this version? Pardon the question if this has already been answered in some of the other google 5G devices like the pixel 4/5 +5G forums...

The unlocked version doesn't have the fastest version of 5g for Verizon but Verizon has that so few spots that it's basically worthless at this point. Maybe in 3 years it will be worthwhile but I wouldn't buy a phone based on that spec.

Ah cool. So the short answer for Verizon is:
6 Pro - locked or unlocked works on all 5G frequencies, so get the unlocked one.
6 unlocked - does not have mmW. But Verizon mmW sux at the moment (depends where you live) so no big loss...
6 locked - works with Verizon bands but is locked by VZW

Correct. For non-pro Pixel 6, mmW is only available on the Pixel 6 locked version from Verizon.
To be honest, look at the coverage map for mmW to see if you get any use out of it. It is so limited that most won't see a beneift. It does suck Verizon will not offer a lock non-mmW version so people can take advantage of trade-in deals and such.

I didn't realize this when I ordered my P6 but I agree it is not a huge deal at this point. I am still getting mostly LTE at home and work on VZW and slower 5g on my Pixel 5 every once in a while right now. I have had two work phones, one on TMobile and the other on AT&T both Galaxy phones and I was getting faster speeds on 5g when I had it. I am tempted to go TMobile as I now get just as good coverage at my house as Verizon.

TMobile's 5G still needs a lot of work. For me, it's less stable and speed improvements are negligible most of the time. Their LTE does just fine and I get good enough reception and speed for me.
My main reason to be with TMobile is the price I pay for our 5 lines, can't beat it.

Are you planning to get your Pixel 6 from T-Mobile? If so, have you heard anything about how the monthly updates will work with T-Mobile Pixels vs. Google Pixels? Will it be direct from Google or indirect from T-Mobile?
BTW, I also stay with T-Mobile since my monthly has been under $100 for a decade+ for 3 lines.

I bought my Pixel 6 directly from Google this time. I have been exclusively doing unlocked phones for last 3-4. Main reason is the delay in updates and features. I love how Google updates most apps and features separately of the OS update. I find many carrier phones lump upgrades together. Also give me the option to try beta softwares and such.
I usually sell on Swappa but actually doing a trade-in with Google since they offered me $375 for my Pixel 5.

I agree with having the direct 'link', so to speak.
I, on the other hand, have a tendency to keep phones a few years, e.g, last 4 were Nexus 5 unlocked, Pixel unlocked, One Plus 6t (T-Mobile MSM converted to international version), and next Thursday the Pixel 6 (probably T-Mobile version).
First after Motorola razor, was My Touch 3g.

Very nice. I try to keep phones a whole but prior to this had two unfortunate events where I dropped it had needed to replace them. The Pixel 5 been solid but the features and price of the Pixel 6, coupled with my trade value, I decided to upgrade.
Not to hijack this thread, but I have a similar question. AT&T is not going to whitelist my OnePlus 5T for VoLTE, so I was going to get an unlocked Pixel 6 (GB7N6), but if they don't whitelist the unlocked pixel 6, then I'm out of luck for it working there too, right? I'm not concerned about mmW, but not being able to use the phone as a phone (voice / VoLTE) will be a problem. But I don't want a locked phone.
Can anyone provide some insight?
thanks in advance.

You hit the nail on the head, it is up to AT&T to whitelist. They have previously whitelisted Google phones so I think you will be ok.
This is what I found from AT&T concerning unlocked phones. File says updated October 13th 2021.

I knew about the mmWave situation when I purchased my Pixel 6 and was fine with it; I bought the unlocked model for exclusive use on Verizon. I'm in the middle of North Dakota, and I'm just not worried about it. I haven't even looked at a coverage map, but my cellular bandwidth speed isn't ever why I purchase a phone. I also bought the unlocked version if I decide to root the device in the future.
mmWave 5g is currently being installed at large facilities where you will find a high density of people Places like airports and sports arenas.
This is because mmWave technology has a very short range and it generally won't penetrate buildings. I doubt mmWave 5g will EVER be used in a lot of places, but I certainly would not worry about it in this generation of phones. Even if you live in a large city (like LA) where mmWave is "rolled out" it is only going to work at these large facilities like the coliseum and airport. If you live in a medium or small city, you won't have mmWave coverage for years - perhaps ever.
There is no way I would pay $100 more for the Verizon phone with mmWave - even if I lived in a big city.

Exactly. Similar to the initial Roll Out of 4G an d 5G. Its going to need time to grow.

I disagreed...in the Baltimore region, when there is traffic jam, 5G would connect, LTE would just stalled.

I would agree some areas are always better than others but as a whole I believe it still needs a lot of work. The SA rollout is impressive but I still get a lot of "hang" time on true 5G compared to LTE.
This is in multiple areas of the country during my travels over the last year.
Wouldn't the network on which you wish to operate the device require a set parameter in the OS that allowed signals from the provider to be deciphered? Back in the day we simply called this 'the radio', and if you wanted to switch providers you had to make sure the device could 'talk' to the new network after you installed a new SIM card. You did that by comparing the device specs with what bandwidths the provider was broadcasting on. If the Pixel you buy shows in its specifications list that it works with the band your provider broadcasts on, it's then a case of ensuring the ROM you run on the device can make use of that particular radio band. Pretty simple, tbh...

The above link was updated on November 4th and AT&T has indeed whitelisted the Pixel 6 (GB7N6). I ordered that phone from Google last week and still waiting for it to arrive. So I can't verify yet if VoLTE and wifi calling will work yet. I can update this post when I get the phone.

Good stuff, I am sure you will have no issues as long a the provisioning happens properly. My unlocked Pixel 6 had no isse with T-Mobile utilizing an eSim.

Question Can you flash a Indian version Nord 2 with EU Firmware?

Can you flash a Indian version Nord 2 with EU Firmware?
Short answer is I wouldn't risk it
Long answer is: It seems to mostly depend on what update version you're runing, as .A11 is the latest update where both phones used the same OTA update, since then, it branched to A12 and A14 which was rolled out specifically only to EU devices, and A13 specifically only for Indian devices, and they do not seem to be cross compatible with alot of bootloop issues for trying to run the wrong boot images.
If you wanted to experiment you'd have the highest chance of success by ensuring you're flashing the entire EU stock rom(all partitions), but as oneplus doesn't currently officially publish the nord 2 stock rom, you'd be at the mercy of whatever you can find from what other users have pulled from their own phones, with some partitions not being compatitible between phones, and backup methods aren't always 100% reliable.
Yeah I made the mistake of buying a Nord 2 while in India with the hope I could use it in the US. I was hoping to flash the EU firmware after finding this out to potentially gain one of the frequency bands that is covered in the EU firmware. I'm back in the states and cant return the phone obviously. 400 dollar mistake I guess then...........
I don't know if anyone has tried flashing the EU DN2103 firmware onto an indian DN2101 device; But your issues could be compounded by the fact the DN2101 could be missing physical hardware present in the DN2103 so even if the software side worked, it wouldn't do much good if the hardware wasn't there to begin with.
As far as i understand missing a few frequency bands shouldn't be too bad, at worst it might just mean lower signal strength or coverage depending on the prevalence of bands used by your provider. If you're lucky and live in an urban environment, your coverage should be nearly unaffected.
My understanding is all of the hardware is the same. Sounds like I should just give it a try. What do I have to lose at this point besides the money wasted. Experiments are fun and if it works I can report back.

Instead of this can you try pac man edition phones firmware it may be more interesting and will give something unique
Suppose I have to find out if someone has pulled the EU PacMan Firmware.
Can I use SP Flash tool to update?
What was the outcome ?
Were you able to do it ?
