Which one of the firmwares did you use? Theres a 3.11 snd a 2.something where the bootstack files are. I tried just flashing the bootstack in TWRP but the ROM wouldn't flash then.
I have a nandroid so reverted am waiting to try again
35b bootstack.. flash 35b flash rom flash add on su flash gapps and flash agein 35b that all
Okk, I didn't know that I had to flash the bootstack twice. I was a bit confused, I've done bootstraps, FXZs, now tots and bootstack. All in the name of learning

Thanks, this worked like a charm. It all flashed beautifully except for the Gapps. I tried the one you choose your apps during install, I've never used that so I probably missed something. It flashed in seconds, well didn't flash. I''ll try again and if that doesn't work, I'll just download micro or another small one.
The rom runs great. I havent' noticed any issues yet. I'll play w' it for a bit longer, then probably shelve it. The challenge is over. I was half hoping/dreading I'd at least softbrick it. I learn more about devices that way than any other method.
as an off topic, I have a new Sammy Galaxy Sky SM-S320VL (Net 10 edition), no one's been able to root one yet to my knowledge. Anyone care to take up the challenge with me?
It's a nice rom, smooth and all that. Unfortunately, it only gives root through ADB. I've flashed the SuperSu twice, then went over to the rom site to learn that.
Gapps are a hassle too to install
I really like this rom but dont' want to have to mess around with sideloading, etc. I',,ll come back to it when, and if, it gets updated

I'm also using the same rom on my Verizon lg g3 but I don't have any root issues. Use the su add-on which I provided in the link. Then go to developer options→root access→apps and adb.
Also, I installed Gapps without any issues (build- 08032017, variant - super). Wipe everything (excluding internal storage and sd card) and again wipe cache and dalvik after installing rom and gapps.

I'm using the 35b bootstack and audiofx is working good, but the animation when you try to change between speakers in the app is kinda laggy. It seems to be an issue in every nougat rom. Also, a message pops up in the behind showing "com.qualcomm.shutdownlistener has stopped", but it doesn't affect the shutting down. This also seems a problem in nougat roms. Other than that, everything is working. Network, 4g, Bluetooth, etc is working.

I got the ROM installed fine. But it doesn't have root (except through ADB) so I am now running Dirty Unicorns 10.6. Android 6.01, I'll try the Linage again when they get a few more bugs worked out. Or I may write my own for this, not sure yet

Do you mean flashing both in the same zip queue? I had flashed the rom successfully, then immediately flashed the superSU add on. It also indicated success, but didn't seem to install superSu. I'll go back and try your suggestion.

That worked great, thanks. Rolling with this ROM now with development options enabled. (I do have to say though that I was using a dirty Unicorns ROM (10.2) and I may go back to it. This ROM doesn't have near the customizations. It's good though

Glad it worked And yeah, since it is an initial build, many features are missing. I hope that they will add them in future updates.

Is there a version of SuperSU that works with CM13? All trash the ROM and have to do full restore.
I just needed confirmation on something. I'm currently running CM12.1 on a SM-G900P with firmware G900PVPU3BOK4. Does the update to CM 13.0 require a firmware update to G900PVPU3CPCA (the MM level of firmware from the stock Sprint download) or can I stay on G900PVPU3BOK4 with CM13.0?
btw: Sorry for the double post. I'm new to XDA and having trouble figuring out which forum is correct for me to ask my questions in.
Thanks!

Excellent!! I'll just install the latest nightly for CM13 just like I was going for 12.1 and hopefully things will go smoothly!
I'm having difficulty with CM13 and Open GApps. If I flash CM13 alone everything is fine. When I install CM13 and then the ARM 6.0 pico Open GApps through the same TWRP 3.0.2-1 session (as directed here: https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Notes-for-Android-6.0), I either get constant force close errors after boot (with 5/19 CM & GApps zips) or an endless blue android boot screen (with 5/20 CM & GApps zips). I've tried re-downloading the zips and reinstalling after wiping (dalvik, system, data, cache) multiple times.
Any ideas?
UPDATE/PSA: USE THE NANO GAPPS AS STATED IN THE OP. NANOGAPPS INFINITY OPENS THE DOOR.

Issues w. CM13 flash
Ok... slightly frustrated here.
Basic issue: Have flashed CM13 (Nightly 5.17.16) along with the latest Gapps. Upon reboot my phone will go to the Cyanagenmod splash screen, appear to load for several seconds, and then restart. It keeps doing this for at least 10 minutes until I turn it off. I have re-flashed a couple times after reloading the backup but no change.
Process I used: First of all my phone already has Android 6.0.1 firmware installed (not sure if that's an issue). I have TWRP setup as recovery and rooted with su 2.52 (and yes I verified the root prior to flashing). To flash I boot into recovery (obviously), factory reset, install cm13, clear dalvik, and repeat process with gapps. I've done this before with older CM's successfully but for some reason I can't get past the CM splash screen.
Any assistance is appreciated. If I have made a completely stupid error in my process or this exact issue is covered in another thread don't hesitate to point that out!!
Thank you in advance.

You had the official MM installed from Samsung, correct?
As far as I know, the current CM13 needs LP bootloader installed.
I have no issue with LP bootloader.

Theme chooser works great for me, not having any issues with it. I am having an issue with the time being or of sync when set to automatic... How'd you fix it? Also, what's wrong with the dialer... can't say I'm having any issues there either.

Can you tot back to 10b or restore a 10b rom and use that backup efs Zip file by autoprime.
Then boot into twrp flash the efs backup restore it created then flash rom then 35b bootstack then reboot. I'm going to reflash the rom just to see if this happens to me.
Update: Reflashed just as I explained and the rom is booting just fine.

Efs info: I met you halfway you can Google about the bootstack.

OK, I found the system image/modem image and boot images and flash program for them from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56100153&postcount=1 going to try that today.
once I install these images, and then backup the efs, do I need to boot into the 12b system first or can I just wipe again, restore the efs backup I created then install Prime / 35B Bootstack and reboot?

You can also go back to 10b via kdz. Thank you for all you responses and input. It is appreciated!!
I gotta say thank you SO much for this! Never thought I was going to be able to run a non-Verizon based stock ROM or 5.0 UX with working 4G. Had tried countless hours with Cloudy and Fulmics and could never get it to stick through the first reboot. I was on XDABBEB's 47A stock based ROM and figured I would try flashing before messing with TOT and all that (more of a weekend thing) and all I had to do was wipe system, data and caches, flashed ROM zip then 35b bootstack right after (without leaving recovery) and everything was good to go. Didn't have to set APN's or do an EFS restore or anything. I do have the little roaming "R" above the signal bars, but that's merely cosmetic. YOU! DAH! MAN!
Edit: Just gave you the remainder of my "thanks" for the day :good::laugh::good: Sorry that's all I have to offer for now

Glad its working for you. Thanks for the update and yeah the instructions maybe just used as a fallback if your having issues or if anyone else is.
Thanks THEbigSWEEN! I've been trying everything suggested and still could not get it to boot.
I installed XDABBEB's 47A / wiped / installed this one and its is working.. Complete with 4g.. Still have the little r but I'm ok with that for now..
Only issue is it says 3minit is out of date and will not let me get into settings..
So not sure if a reboot or something else I installed caused this little hiccup, also usually on wifi so probably didn't notice immediately either, but I was still getting the 4G indicator but it wasn't connecting. After adding the APN everything was back to golden though. Easy way to get APN to show up for anyone who doesn't know, if you switch network mode to GSM and wait 5-10 seconds the option will show up.
As for the 3minit out of date error I don't recall seeing that or having any issues switching between a few of them, but shortly afterwards I switched to the circle battery from G3 Tweaksbox. Maybe it was a certain one or category you were selecting?
Edit: Oh, and glad you were able to get it to boot following the same course I took! Everyone should be able to enjoy some fully functional 5.0 UX goodness!

All is well at this point. The 3minit thing is still occurring but it's a minor thing. can't see anything else that is not working right at this point.
Ok, a bit of backstory:
This is the Canadian Honor 5x, also known as Huawei GR5. After finally unlocking the bootloader, I was able to flash TWRP (3.3.1-0) on it. After flashing AOSIP for it, It was working mostly fine, aside from some basic apps crashing constantly (such as download manager) so I tried to flash gapps afterwards (I know this isn't how it should be done). It started to bootloop.
Then I tried the following without success:
Flashed ROM and Gapps before rebooting; Bootloops
Flashed ROM without Gapps; Works but apps crashes and no googleplay (obviously)
Sideloaded LineageOS with gapps; Same issue as first one.
Wiped Caches and data before flashing ROM (no gapps); Same as first one but crashing apps aren't crashing anymore.
The last thing I tried landed me here: I decided to do the last item on the list but also wiped System. Now I can't install or sideload anything.
Did I shoot myself in the foot here? Is it gone for good?? I need help with this.

First, you need to be on the latest stock firmware. Before unlocking the bootloader, upgrade to marshmallow to get the marshmallow firmware. You will get issues if you don't have the marshmallow firmware as all custom ROM built on that.
AOSiP was built from LineageOs.
Also note, Important note:
Stock Firmware B360 and B370 are known to cause boot loops!
(Generally: if your stock ROM supports VoLTE it is likely that it is also affected!)
All others might work, please do not ask in here how to up- or downgrade!

Note: In case you want to use any gapps, YOU MUST install the right gapps the first time that you flash a marshmallow ROM. Do not boot with an older gapps or without one and then try to install it later.

I was on pie I believe so that should of not been an issue.
The first sentence on my post specified that I ALREADY unlocked the boot loader. Please read my post before copy pasting things that were clearly defined.

I have indeed read this on the AOSiP thread. Although instead of repeating something I was already aware of, you could specify what is VoLTE since no matter how many time I read it I wont know what it means. If its Voice Over LTE I doubt it. I don't have LTE on my carrier.

Did you read my post? Where does it say that's what I wanna do?? I never, ever, said to either upgrade or downgrade. I want grade, period (by that I mean I want something thats working at all, regardless of version).

okay, sorry for not understanding you. You ain't a noob. So I should expect you did a clean install. Wiping Dalvik/ART Cache, Cache, Data, Internal Storage and System. this will give you a clean slate. And be on the latest TWRP which you already are in. If that fails, I can't help beyond that. VOLTE is Voice Over LTE. You are correct.
So I really messed up I think.
My friend - who is on vacation had borrowed my phone earlier this year, and for some reason didn't reset it properly.
Now I need it again, but I couldn't start it up, due to the phone being locked to his Gmail account.
So I went into TWRP and reset the phone, did a wipe on Dalvik/Art Cache, System, Data and Cache. Then I realized I just deleted the ROM that was previously on it, so I downloaded another ROM for the phone. But it wouldn't finish booting after starting to load the system, so I downloaded another one. This one still won't boot up after coming to the system bootup after the LG V30 Thinq logo has shown. I have tried Havoc and Liquid ROM with and without gapps.
My phone is the Korean version.
Do I need to flash some kind of Magisk or SuperSU with the ROM, or can anyone help me so I can get my phone working again?

What was the previous ROM? If it was LOS-16 based, you can't replace with LOS-17 based ROM without first flashing stock Pie firmware. LOS-17 ROMS need stock Pie blobs (drivers), while the older LOS-16 ROMs need stock Oreo blobs (drivers).
That's the most common reason for what you describe and fits the timeline of you not having the phone in your hands for several months.
Yes, you do need to flash Magisk with the custom ROM and usually GAPPs as well. (Although a few ROMs come with their own GAPPS.)
Here's current LOS-16 ROM if you want to try that:

DOWNLOAD:
https://github.com/ShapeShifter499/...ses/tag/lineage-16.0-20200716-h930_oreo-blobs
That dev makes new builds almost every day -- both for universal "H930" (all variants except T-mobile H932) and also builds specifically for T-mobile H932. That download link is for 07/16 daily build for "H930".
But there is still the matter of the account: FRP doesn't go away just by wiping in TWRP or flashing a different ROM, as far as I know.
The best solution would have been too simply log in with the previous account, then delete the account in the OS. That would release the FRP.
If you manage to boot any ROM, I would do that first thing. If your friend is far away, then give him a call. He could temporarily change his Google password to something simple, give it to you, then change it back once you have removed his account from the phone.
Edit: maybe flashing with LGUP Refurbish mode clears FRP. Do you know that, @ChazzMatt.

Is there an easy way to use that manifest? Normally it's just a ZIP file you need to flash. What it says in that guide looks like rubbish to me
Sorry for being a complete noob

Normally just go here and click on the heading of the build you want. At least on PC it starts a download. If it's not triggering a download make sure your pop up blockers are disabled. Unless something has changed there recently. @ShapeShifter499?

Do NOT choose any T-Mobile H932 builds, since you don't have that model.
Build in the works. Going to release the BETA as soon as I can do testing on my own device before release.
IMO this is a necessity as there are literally no good roms for this right now. I tried the port of the Nexus stock CR rom and it was not great. Playstore was unusable due to an issue were the app thinks the system is out of storage space, even though it is almost empty. Chrome crashes instantly, the search on the page home screen flickers up/down without control.
I am a far bigger fan of LineageOS thus why I am working on this build.
More to come.

As a follow up to my original post I wanted to mention that for anyone who wants a new ROM on their SM-T290 until this is finished development, use the Nexus Rom by Magendanz. I was able to do a fresh stock firmware install and retry the rom and my opinion has changed. I have noticed that these Tab A 8.0 tablets have been used a lot for like Uber/Door Dash and other POS terminals. I am pretty sure a lot of them have modified or customized firmware for these reasons and when I mine second hand it was from a pizza store. I think that messed up the upgrade.
Overall Magendanz did a great job, when you install it properly. I have zero issues with functionality now, TWRP recovery set up, as well as Magisk installed and everything is running extremely well.
As far as instruction on how to install. Take a look at some of the comments further down on the Nexus thread. That is what I did this time around and it worked perfectly. Last thing I did was copy Magisk.Apk to my SD, change extension from .APK to .ZIP, then boot into TWRP and install that ZIP.
Going to update progression on a monthly basis as far as the LineageOS 18.0 build

Do you have a github with your source code and manifest? I just got this tablet (used) yesterday and I would like to see if I can help. I have built LineageOS roms for a number of older Samsung Tab A devices, but will have to do some research on the "new to me" T290. Thanks.
Just got this tablet, how's the beta coming along? And what can I do to help?
Thank you my guy I had lost all hope for custom roms on this tablet. It's quite relieving to know that I'm not alone.
Also, has anyone experienced severe lag on one ui 3 while doing basic tasks? The thing literally gets 5 fps while watching youtube and surfing the web but it plays 3d games at 20 fps on low settings. wtf

Hey Guys,
I didnt end up building a custom rom, because I was able to get the GSI version of Lineage 19 working fairly easily. Just use the correct image and flash the same as the Nexus post. Android 12 with Lineage 19 so i felt it wasnt worth it as everything works. I had trouble at first with a boot loop but that was because I had installed Magisk BEFORE the GSI rom and not AFTER. So dont make my mistake.
As per the Nexus Post;
Unlock Bootloader
flash TWRP
Wipe data
Install Andy Yan's Lineage OS 19 GSI
Andy Yan's personal builds // GSI - Browse /lineage-19.x at SourceForge.net
sourceforge.net
Install Magisk
Reboot
Cheers!

Good advice But which of Andy's GSIs did you use exactly ?
Thanks so much dude
The GSI is a .img.xz will it work or does it need to be .gsi

You download the .img.xz file and unzip it.
Inside this will be the .img file
This is what you need to flash (.img)

Sorry
Use this one
lineage-19.0-20220211-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bgS.img.xz
It has Gapps built in as well as super user through SSH, dont install Magisk as it will error that there is already SU tool installed.
@SniperFox22 , did you make a github for the code or didn't even start since you are happy with GSI?

My OS didn't have an option to unzip it at first glance. I haven't been able to install gapps so I'm gonna try that gsi. Also, am I supposed to wipe internal storage before flashing or not?
I got it working but games just crash which is worse than before
Came across this while trying to root my sm-t290. Just want to add that Andy Yan has upgraded to a 19.1 version that appears to work just fine. Flashed to system partition using twrp after I had flashed the Nexus rom. Wifi works, sound works, sd card, bluetooth keyboard works just fine.

Link to it???
I like the link above because it has all the versions but lineage-19.1-20220320-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgS.img.xz is the one that I used. The page has the naming convention. Ill mention that even though it says that it's supposed to be rooted, I couldn't get it to work right. The nexus rom had an option in the 'phh treble' menu to activate root and this lineage image should also but the option wasn't there. It kept saying the supersu binary was busy but that was after I flashed a supersu.zip(it may have worked before then i don't know). I played with it a little bit but ended up just flashing back to the Nexus rom.
Hey guys!
Installed "lineage-19.1-20220320-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bgS.img"
Everything starts up, but something is weird with my installation and my storage, it freezes when i go into storage and i cant download anything without apps start to crash.
Im not sure if i flashed it correctly, i did a wipe in TWRP before installation.
Really hope i can get this to work since it waaaaay faster then the bloat samsung ships
Edit:
Tried flashing another rom (nexus) and had the same issue!
trying to reflash and wipe everything except internal storage.
Where should i flash image? i get: "select partition to flash image", never seen that before (might be because you flash img and not zip)
