All nought roms are based on same source so the bugs are same but they are different in features
And there is no Xposed for Android 7
Bugs for now: 1. Camera
2. Wifi regional code problem for some people(not all)depends on your country

Cam and Wifi are some important functions of phone if it doesn't work then the rom can be stated as not stable.
How come Nougat works perfectly on Samsung A series ( A5 2015 ) which is less powerful ?

Wifi works for most people
And it is stable

@raminta, @nusice,
The AOSP by @Brandon Nel is has paused its development and a case investigation is placed on the thread at the moment (see last post in that thread).
But however, the version posted by @rcstar6696 has fixed a long of bugs when compared to the one in the General section.
So in conclusion, you should go for the one in the Development section as it is nearly bugs-free and still developing.

Android N developer preview has been released by google. What do you think about it guys ? Will it come to s3 and should we expect ? For me, it's not very hard to port it to s3 because it's very similar to MM. And we have cm13 MM

bro be positive we might actually receive it..
Don't dream about it. The development of CM13 for the S3 is full of problems despite the official status and the great effort of the maintainer, I'm running CM12.1 build 31 "unofficial" and it's the best rom I've tried, and maybe the best there will be for our good old S3, and we should be happy with that.
ps.: MM should be LP 5.2

IMO CM 13 beats CM12 and CM12.1 hard.
CM 13's performance , battery life and multitasking ability is way better than CM 12.
Also it is also quite stable

That is not what I've experienced with CM13, in fact the two roms are very similar in features and look, been CM12.1 far more polished and without missing things in Settings. And about performance, with latest boeffla 4 alpha 19 linaro 5.3.1 version, the CM12.1 build 31 is the fastest rom I've ran on my S3

I guess s3 will be receving cm 14, at least nightlies, and oly international version (gtí9300), as it´s the most popular. Remember that the SGSii international(gti9100) has official cm 13 just my thoughts

Ahhh. Ok. Sorry. S3 forever people! :fingers-crossed: :good:
I think that android n will come to s3 because our device is still a good one and with some overclocking and custom roms it bests the s4 original! Hope for marshmallow touchwiz! One day it will be ported as lollipop for s3 neo!
If android n out in this year probably forkbomb444 can do this ;]
I think S3 could possibly got a Cm version of android N, like when the last stable release of the S3 intl was CM11 4.4.4 and then we got a almost stable CM13 which was a 6.0.1 based rom, i still see my friends using expensive phones but were still runing 5.1.1 and some 5.0.2.
Cm makes all the old phones so new and smooth again.

Search for CM12.1 Build 31 unofficial
CM13 is official and I tested a bit the latest nightly builds and 31.03.2016 build is most stable. No bugs!!! And yes, our phone WILL get N version because this version is just a simple update like M.
I've heard that the source code is estimated to come out this fall. This why i hope for a Cyanogenmod 14 to come out for our veteran Galaxy SIII ( cm13 was actually a patch with some improvements to cm 12 and cm 12.1 )
Guys, we all wish to see cm14 in s3 but Lord Boeffla told that he will never develop a kernel for cm14 for s3.He said cm13 boeffla kernel is his last tribute to our s3.

Stable Roms without missing features?

I wanted to ask, witch Roms are stable and support all features of Kenzo.
It seems that in several Roms there are different Problems,
from wakelocks and Battery drain,
over Wifi Problems
to missing Fingerprint or VolTE support.
Is it a Problem with Android 6.0 or also with 5.1 based Roms?
This should be in the Questions & Answers section. However, I have official CM 13.0 and I haven't encountered any of the problems that you mentioned above. If you read instructions carefully and understand what you're doing, you won't have any trouble as long as the rom you are flashing supports those features. If you head over to the Android Development section, you can see the features that each rom does and doesn't support. If the OP says it is supported but you can't get it to work, then the problem comes from your side. Before flashing make sure you have read and understood the required steps and have taken all the necessary precautions to avoid ending up with a "bricked" device. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Thanks for your reply,
yes i know what im doing (had Nexus 4 and flashed it more than a hundred times).
I normally check first post (+ following from OP) and the last sites of the Thread to see if there are bugs or not (cause "no bugs" in OP-Thread is not always correct).
But if CM13 is, so far, bug free and full featured (fingerprint and so on) than i will give it a try.

It is. I've been using it for almost 1 month now, and I can say it's probably the most stable and complete rom for me. I also flashed the CM 13.0 supported firmware along with Radon Kernel and the device is blazing fast. As for the battery, I can get 1 week+ with minimal usage, and about 2-3 days with heavy usage which is pretty impressive for a hexa-core device with a 1080p screen.

I was wondering about this "firmware" thing, never had to upgrade any software. Normaly just flash the Rom.
I was also wondering what's the difference to the unofficial CM13

Well, if you are going to flash this rom you are going to have to flash the appropriate firmware too, since CM is based on it. If you flash the rom without flashing the firmware, you might end up with missing options in settings (I tried this and the "fingerprints" tab was missing). As soon as I flashed the firmware everything got fixed. Also, an official rom means that it is developed by a member or a group of members that have created the original project, while unofficial roms can be built by anyone. For example I can take a CM build and customize it the way i want and then release it to the public. This makes it an unofficial rom, since I'm not a member of the CM development team. But if a rom or an update releases on the CM website, then it is considered to be official.
By the way about the VoLTE support, quoting from OP Q&A:
Q) Is VoLTE supported? (Also useful if you have GApps related problems).
A) No. We use all proprietary blobs from MIUI Marshmallow alpha 'leaked' builds and those builds itself do not have it working. So we'll have to wait until Xiaomi fixes it in their marshmallow builds in future. Also we can't fallback to old LP radio blobs/libs and are not suited with current setup. #blamexiaomi

I guess you'll have to wait for Xiaomi to release a stable working MM build if you want voLTE support. :/

Hey sweetie! Lot of thanks, you are trying to make oreo rom! Good work.
Thank you @Sweetie for letting us know that your friend has made the Oreo device tree and kernel!
Looking forward to your Oreo ROM!
Can't wait to run it on my Kinzie XT1580!
great job ,waiting for oreo rom
Works great! Android 8.1 based resurrection remix would be amazing though.
Awesome rom, bro!
I'm using it as my daily driver! Just need to get used to the different gestures cuz I used to shake/wave a lot my xt1580 for torch and camera. and the sim card is worling smoothly in my reteu variant!
greet job bro, thanks for your rom!
Everythng works fine
Been running this rom for some time now, and haven't noticed ANY issue yet. Just wanted to share some screenshots.
Battery life is also great. At least as much as jwchen's LineageOS build.
No Moto Display.It's a pity.
The others are very funny and excellent.
I'm writing this post because I'm impressed with this Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 Nougat ROM for our Kinzie and it is really feature packed and really stable too! I don't know why but this ROM is so much smoother and less buggier as compared to the jwchen119's LineageOS. (Although I miss (a lot) the double twist for camera and chop chop for flashlight! )
Downside of this ROM is just the battery life. Everything else is better. Good enough as a daily driver. But you might need to find a power outlet frequently!
I only sometimes get audio statics from PowerAMP as I experienced a lot in the other ROM.
I have Magisk, Xposed and Substratum installed. Performance is good.
- Haven't test sim card cuz' currently this phone still my secondary device (unless the battery life can be improved! SOT 2.1 Hrs with heavy camera use, SOT 2.9 hours for normal usage.)
- Yet to test gaming performance because Kinzie battery life is really bad already.
@Sweetie!
Saw you updated the first post on this thread with " A friend made oreo device tree and kernel! So, it's time to bring some Oreo roms for Kinzie"! Can't wait to see Oreo Resurrection Remix for Kinzie! Or maybe ROMs (either battery priority, performance priority or both )
I am really thankful of you making so many great ROMs for Moto X Force users! Or else this device might only have 1 third party ROM to survive with! Now we've plenty of it! Thanks for extending the "lifespan" of our kinzie! Appreciate much! :victory:

Hello Sweetie,
Thanks a lot for you job. Have you got some news for the oreo rom for kinzie ?
Bye
Hate to bump a somewhat old thread, but I just purchased one of these devices(off eBay for cheap, and ill know more when it arrives) and was wondering if you guys got the bugs on 8.0 dealt with yet, and if anyone can point me to a root method that works the best for this device??? I also want to know, are the heating up issues fixed in the android 7 custom rom, and if not, is there something I can do, like adding thermal paste or something, that will prevent heating up so much???
**edit** I bought the Turbo 2 which seems to not be able to unlock, but again, I'll know more when I get it... Hope I can use it on straight talk, or Visible Wireless...

Stable custom rom for redmi note 4 sd

Hello,
I have redmi note 4 3GB variant, rooted with miui 9.5.11.0
I wanted to try out a stable custom rom, I'm leaning towards resurrection rom and lineage os, can you guys tell me which versions of those are stable enough for me to try?
And, what is the most hassle free and simplest way to back up and restore data.
In other words, how to easily switch from stock rom to custom rom (or vice versa) without loosing user data?
Los is good but if u are fan of customisation Then RR is good also Aosp Extended is good option, u can restore your old backup and its very easy just make backup of your current rom and flash the custom rom.

It doesn't get more stable than LineageOS.
But the price you pay is that there aren't any customizations or features. Currently it's basically pure Android
I'm using Miracle droid for 6 months now since i dont need treble at the moment or until magisk has official treble support.

I prefer customization, not pure android.
At least for me, Miracle has better batter life. i love RR since Galaxy S2
oh by the way RR nougat is the best battery life so far.
I use RR Luis ROM, 5..8.5 version, which is for Nougat. Battery life is excellent, lots of customizations, and very stable.
Try the Lineage Extended by Alexey. Its not here in XDA, but search Alexey711 in androidfilehost. Thats the perefect version of Lineage based ROM I've found. Lots of customization plus regular updates.
Alexey build in lineage is the best , he update daily I think:silly: almost all customization in resurrection are available in it
If you want to try resurrection go for endless, his battery life is outstanding, he also update with useful features

if Alexey711 is so awesome, then why is he/she not on xda ? why release ROMs such top secretly ?!

and why prefer some secret ROM(Alexey build) over RR ?
Who said he release secretly?? He is in PDA forum ,his thread is there.

Answers to questions or FAQ:
* What kind of archive is OLD_LED_DRIVER_PATCH?
lineage-15.1-xxxxxxxxx-Extended-mido.zip - the firmware itself with a new ice driver for the diode of notifications. Not everyone works, thanks Xiaomi. (Check the diode flashing when notifications arrive and how it is configured).
lineage-15.1-xxxxxxxxx-Extended-mido (OLD_LED_DRIVER_PATCH) .zip - since not everyone has a new diode driver, they made a patch for the old one.
* The first time the firmware is installed, crashes the setting.
Delete the SetupWizard in GAPPS
* There is no "for program" option on LOS in the superuser settings, there is only "ADB". How do I enable root for programs?

Alright, but I'm unable to find the older versions on Sourceforge, here are only Oreo versions
I never knew there were other android forums such as XDA in this world, damn

Alright Man ! Great !! is there any side by side comparison for those three ?
And I'm rooted with Magisk, with stock recovery so that I can receive OTA MIUI stable updates..So are you talking about Titanium Backup or TWRP backup or the in house Local Backups ?

First thing it's wrong section
custom ROM depends on users choice and usage and different people may have different views
if you look for best stability but limited customization opt for omni ROM or AOSP-E
If you looking for super customisations then go for CrDroid, Resurrection Remix, Havoc-OS etc
but if you looking for balanced one along with decent battery backup go for MiracleDroid
my recommendation CrDroid
daily driver ( must try) : MiracleDroid
I found that the latest AOSiP (Illusion Project) combined with Stormguard kernel gave me really excellent battery life, had lots of options and good performance.
I also really like Alexey711's LineageOS Extended. I don't think he posts here on XDA, but keeps his wares on AFH. He updates regularly and provides lots of good options.
Then lastly, I also love MIUI 10. I prefer Xiaomi.eu's version, but also really like Escobar1945's version (eagerly waiting for that update!).
In the end though, every single user has different needs and different usage patterns. Best thing is to try them all. Try different combinations of ROMs and kernels until you find one that works best for you.
