New to the TB - I have a question about the battery. No it's not about how fast it drains. My concern is charging time. My previous phone was an iPhone 3g. It would charge in about three hours. 1 hour would net you about 50% charge.
My TB seems to take FOREVER to charge. As of writing this post - it has taken one hour to charge from 55% to 65%. This is with the screen, data, gps, wireless and bluetooth off. the only thing on is the voice portion. Anything more would be airplane mode.
At this rate it would take 10 hours to charge this phone. On the iPhone, you would get 10 hours usage and 3 hours charge. On the TB you get about 3 hours usage and ten hour charge time.
Does this seem right?
That's not right if you're using the AC charger which came with it. Are you?
If you're charging over USB, it's going to take a long time. Charges via the A/C Adapter usually take about 3 hours, same as your I-phone. The first charge I recommend leaving it on for 4-5 hours to make sure battery is fully charged.
BTW, there's really no reason to turn off all of the features just to charge your phone. I leave all of those features on and still charge in < 3 hours.
well I have been charging by pc usb port on both mac and pc.
Tonight I plugged into ac adapter. It took 1 hour to go from 85% to 99%. 50% faster, but still excessive. It's a ~6 hour charge time instead of 10 hours.
I would love a 3 hour charge time.
Custom kernel that is under volted should help

going from 0 to 75 % will be faster than 75 to 100.. charging isnt a linear thing. as you reach the the end of the charging cycle you are trying to move charge across the battery with a 5V potential but fighting the potential now built into the battery...

Depending on the level you start at, somewhere around 85% is where charging changes over from constant current to constant voltage. If you charge with the AC adapter, you'll find it takes ~2 hours to go from 0 to 85, and another hour to go from 85 to 100.
Get Battery Monitor Widget by 3c06 from the Market to see this graphically.
So I had my GS2 fully charged last night. At about 415am I played Game Dev Story for about 30mins and went to bed. I wake up this morning at around 1030 and find my phone completely dead. Obviously this freaks me out since I just got my phone and it should not be going from 100% -> 0% in 5 hours of being idle. Now maybe I didn't turn Game Dev off properly and it was running in the background? I don't know. I got this phone last Monday and this is the fastest it has died. (Even setting this one aside, I'm extremely disappointed in the battery life). Also, I plug it in to charge after I found it dead this morning and went back to sleep. Wake up 2 hours later at 12pm and see its only charged to about 40% and the phone is really hot.
Are these normal for the GS2? It didnt get hot during previous charges (atleast I didn't notice it getting hot). Also what is the average battery life for the S2 and how long does it usually take to charge from 0-100? For some reason I feel like there is something wrong with mine and I should be exchanging it but unfortunately I did root it so undoing the whole process will take some time since I'm still waiting for the jigg.
Normal charge time from zero to full 3-4 Hours via stock charger .
Excessive battery drain multiple posts on the problem .
jje
I don't think anything is wrong with the battery. You can see the battery usage graph, and post if needed. And the device takes around 3 hrs 15 mins from 0 to 100% charge with AC charger.
Regards.
how long is your charging time....on and off
Full charge within less than an hour (I don't bother fo check the exact time)
Are you sure? Mine takes about 4 hours.

are you serious????
From a dead tab, that won't even start with the charging cable in it, it takes almost 2 hours, depends on which apps you have installed and running in your tab also your brightness can make charging hard, if you want the tablet to charge faster, the you have to shut down your tab and then charge
I discharge my tablet completely, then it takes about 4 n half hours to fully recharge and in sleep mode battery discharges like 1% every 12 hours, and with heavy use it sucks the complete juice in 8-9 hours.
So I always charge by Folded Magazine for 5 hours..
ok thanks....
on the webpages they say 5h charging time...
mine is 3h with tab switched off...so i´m wondering...maybe with tab in use...
anybody else?

That's what I usually do - I'll charge my tablet when the Low Battery warning beeps for the second or third time and it takes not more than an hour to get it fully charged.
I did time the charging this evening when only 2% battery life is left and it took 1 hour 35 mins to charge it to 100%. My tablet is 3 months old and there are 29 apps installed (excluding those pre-installed) and HK is on 220 voltage.
Brightness on my machine is set to Automatic.
How long does it taken for a full charge. I'm thinking it could be pretty fast like maybe an hour or less.... Does anyone know?
I remember reading somewhere that its a couple of hours for a full charge. I can't remember where I read it tho so might be wrong.
Hard to say some mentioned it was at least a half charge in about 20 minutes. Guess it depends if the watch is set to always on with brightness at full.
I've read somewehere (sorry, don't recall where anymore) the official specs said it should fully charge in 2 hours.
Didn't test this though since I charge it at night and only charged it once (obviously, just received my new toy yesterday )
Full charge from 0% to 100% takes less 2 hours or less. I don't know the exact rate, never checked ^^ I am going to do a check right now though, I'll post it as soon as I have the results.
Edit:
I just let it charge 20% battery and calculated it. My watch would take exactly 120 minutes = 2 hours for a full charge as it takes 24 Minutes to charge 20%. That would mean it charges 0.83% per minute So it exactly matches the time LG said it would take for it to charge.
I have had my watch for almost 3 months and recently I've noticed that it is taking longer to charge. I used to be able to put it on the charger in the morning when I woke up and leave it on the charger until I left for work about 1 hour and 10 minutes later and it would easily charge from about 50% to 100% in less than 1 hour. Now it seems that I can only get into the mid 90's charging for an hour and 10 minutes from approximately 50%. I don't like to leave the watch on the charger overnight so I would like to be able to fully charge in the morning, even though my battery life is good and I don't run the risk of killing the watch with one day's use.
It looks like it just needed a restart. Charging nice and fast tonight.

same problem here since android 6.0.1
It seems to be hit or miss. It fast charges fine sometimes and others it is not fast. Last night it charged from 35%-80% in no time. I left it on the charger overnight and when I looked at it this morning it was stuck at 97% and battery stats showed that it had not changed since reaching 97%. I restarted it and it charged up to 100% within a couple of minutes.
