Any suggestions for the best foldermount alternative for nougat? I could use adoptable storage, but it's makes my phone suffering Blackscreen of Death and failed to entering UI after restarted automatically from the error. And foldermount right now have lack of nougat support.
no answere?
There is, in the form of a magisk Module.

I have root, and a 64gb card installed. Running stock rom, with no other tweaks than removal of bloatware via TitaniumBackup. I tried the SDFix app (worked last time, doesn't now) to no avail. It says I have write capabilities, but when I try to set TitaniumBackup or SuperBeam to write to the external SD, I get the insufficient space error. Has anyone figured this out yet? I tried the xda search function already and it gave me very little to go on, so I decided to post. Thanks to whomever can solve this!
I think I recall using Xposed and some sort of SD fix module to get it working awhile back. Sorry buts been so long since running on stock that I can't remember specifics. This really was a huge fumble on Googles part!
The good news is I heard lollipop has better sdcard support. Think we will get it. The question is will lollipop be root able.
SD kitkat fixer by Jim Rummy in the play store. Worked for me.
Since Android 6.0, we have the option to adopt microSD storage as internal storage, the so called Adoptable Storage. It gives you the benefit of being able to install apps on it natively.
Many OEMs have disabled the functionality in their firmware builds, including Sony.
It seems that their disabling has not actually removed the functionality from Android, but just hidden the controls to it. Recently, several attempts to restore the functionality have been made successfully. I just came across one done by MoDaCo on the Samsung Galaxy S7.
Can someone o the Z4 Tablet MM firmware try this out? It seems to be pretty easy and done using ADB. Might be interesting for some.
If no one else has I might give it a try later I don't really need it but just for research reasons really. I have a lot of apps but I really don't need the extra internal

it gets a bit weird... but I like the convenience
I have enabled it on my Marshmallow (CM13) SAMSUNG Galaxy S5.
I find it quite useful when dealing with my space eaters like OSMand and my mp3-collection and especially seafile.
I could not get the latter to store its downloaded contents on my 64GBytes card. Now I do not care anymore.
BUT:
There is some behind the scenes magic going on.
TWRP 3.0 sees the filesystem quite differently than you will see it under Marshmallow even with a root enabled file manager. Maybe it needs an update for these merged partitions.
example:
DL a new nightly with cmupdater and tell it to update the ROM -> TWRP boots and does not find the nightly.zip.
No big deal you think, just open the file manager of TWRP and find/move the file from /sdcard/cmupdater
surprise: /sdcard/... is not accessible or it does not contain the files you have just seen under Marshmallow.
My workaround: move the nightly.zip with a filemanager to /data, then boot into TWRP and install from /data
Was dissapointed to see that it was disabled, seeing as i have a 128 gb micro sd card installed I'm not qualified to fix this at all, but i hope there are some legends out there that can

One of those being @AndroPlus He just released an update to his Xposed module SystemUI Patcher for Lollipop (that could use a name-change) adding support for it:

Nice! I'm not sure i am all for rooting the device though, but it is nice to know that there are solutions.
Just tried on my z4 tablet and works fine. I had to however force adoptable for it to work. using 32GB with ration of 30%. Just finished migrating and everything seems fine.
Hey folks,
I use the latest unofficial CM13 build for onyx with running exposed modules, working gravityBox etc. –
I wanted to tweak onyx's way oversaturated display-colors via blu_spark kernel.
But unfortunately I can't find it in the twrp-filebrowser. Almost everything is empty.
Installing from TWRP-Manager also doesn't work, since I get the message after rebooting "can't find the file".
I am using a SD card with Marshmallows Merging feature (although still wondering how I can control what goes where)
I don't remember since when I cannot see find my "Downloads" folder in TWRP. But I guess since then another problem occured:
GMail says "unknown issue with google play services".
Maybe these two are corralated.
Please help me, fellow Android lovers
Thx,
Louis
The "adopted storage" feature fully encrypts your SD card. TWRP cannot access encrypted storage devices.
Thx for the info!
Is there any way I can decrypt the adopted SD for TWRP? Or how can I control where my data is stored, so I can find the files in TWRP and install st uff? I mean, there must be a way to influence where apps are installed and files stored.
Thx so much! ?
Hey guys! I was wondering why can't we encrypt /sdcard as we do for /data?... In my opinion my files/documents/photos are sensitive information as my data partition is...
Up?
Seriously, no one?

Little late... Anyways, I too am wondering all the time why encryption seems to be relevant for only a really small number of users.
Since you can only encrypt your SD Card with LOS when formatting it as internal storage via assistant, I chose to go this way:
https://guardianproject.info/2011/02/02/create-an-encrypted-file-system-on-android-w-luks/
Did you find another solution?
@two_handed
Sorry I moved to CopperheadOs, my Mi5 was only pure lineage with F-Droid as system app.
I noticed that you don't have access to /data on you encrypted lineageOs phone which means apps data, pictures, music, etc... But you still have access to everything else (/system included) through adb/fastboot.
I wanted a secure phone without google crap, only FLOSS apps, and CopperheadOs is one of the few allowing you (more like forcing you) to relock you bootloader to activate boot secure and prevents anyone to use fastboot/adb shell if your phone gets stollen.
Concerning your question, maybe this http://sovworks.com/eds/ ? Sort of veracrypt for android, also working with veracrypt containers.
I have been fumbling with this for a while now and have been unable to find a fix so I'm resorting to posting here to see if anyone knows better.
The situation is as follows: I have my Mi Pad 4 (clover) running last year's LOS 17.1 and, after getting rooted, I can browse the media in the internal storage alright with OSS Simple Gallery Pro from F-Droid.
Well, this doesn't happen when I connect some USB storage -- I can access individual files, but browsing doesn't work; also, I get repeated toasts stating that Root Explorer has been denied superuser rights, although I have granted it all permissions and Magisk reports it is getting root alright.
I used to have the same problem when I first installed HavocOS way back when I first got this tablet, but some tweaking swiftly solved it (which I don't recall anymore).
Not this time. After complaining in the LOS thread, someone pointed me to a Magisk module that would supposedly fix this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/4078731/) but after trying different versions of it all I got was a few bootloops that forced me to start setup from scratch.
All I want is full read/write access on external media without any hassles and jumping through loops, if that's not too much to ask.
As it is, this is a big issue, since I use the tablet mostly for reading and media -- and as it is, I can't sort photos on USB drives. Any help appreciated.
